From parking up the car, you walk up through the manicured tropical garden passing the owners' house and on to Palms 1, which has been set back for your privacy.

The Porthole coffee shop is a must, with the beach to the front and Exmoor behind, one minute you can be watching a surfer and the next an Exmoor pony.
From the coffee shop head back to Woolacombe.

Surf the sand dunes as the sun sets and you have the beach to yourself.

This modern semi-detached abode offers the perfect spot for families, couples or a solo traveller - this truly is a home-from-home meaning you will also have a very happy pooch!

As you meander up from the parking area to the front door via the sloping path you will be treated to a tropical garden that is rather delightful! This gorgeous white house has been thoughtfully and stylishly created for your enjoyment, the decor is simple and fresh with light coastal tones used to create a sense of space and calm! The open plan reception room is a real gem and the ideal area for you all to reconnect whether enjoying a family meal around the table or a chilled out family games night, the choice is yours! You're on holiday and time can wait so add a few drinks on the top terrace as a must do activity!

Head upstairs where you will find both beautifully styled and furnished bedrooms with cosy beds, fresh linens, fluffy towels and of course the space and light flows seamlessly. The family bathroom sits between the double and twin bedrooms, just off the landing.

The thoughtful owners are next door and will simply wave as you pass on the tropical garden path to Palms 1, which has been set back ensuring privacy but also allowing for the top patio area to be created which is simply a delight no matter the time of day! Simply slide open the patio doors from the main reception room and step out with a morning brew, soak up the views and the dawn chorus from the table and chairs. For those all-important beach days, the owners have yet again come up trumps providing body boards and other beach gear which can be found in the garage - you really will experience a self-catering holiday that delivers on every level. For your four-legged friend there is a field a short walk away providing the perfect spot for a run around, as there is no lawned area at the house. Yet again, the owners have delivered when it comes to local information, with a welcome folder that is so detailed you will feel like a local in no time at all!

What a beautiful place to stay.
Property is very well equipped, everything thought about very carefully.
Location, perfect to walk to beach & into Woolacombe itself.
The gardens are very private & have a tropical feel about them & are maintained very well.
Owner Chris very helpful & friendly, gave us some very useful tips & nothing was too much trouble.
Would highly recommend anyone looking to stay in Woolacombe to stay here & if we were to return to Woolacombe, I would definitely stay here again ??

The property is very nice, clean and well equipped with everything you need whether it's a couple of you or a family. Access to the garage is a nice thought from the owners for storing larger items, ie surfboards etc. There is quite a number of steps leading up to the house which could be difficult for a pushchair if you have young children. Overall very nice.

Palms 1 was the best property that we’ve stayed in during the last 5 years!

There was nothing that was missing and there was even beach chairs and surf boards for our use!

The beds were very comfortable and the lounge was also very comfortable and in the warm weather, very airy with the patio doors!

This was our second stay at Palms 1 and proved to be just as good as our first stay in 2024. The accommodation is spacious, clean, bright, modern and in an excellent location. It’s a complete joy to stay in and the tropical gardens are amazing. The owner has thought of everything you could possibly need. We shall certainly be booking again.

We spent a lovely week at Palms 1. So often one hears the phrase 'well-equipped', but that really is true about Palms 1. It has a beautiful garden to the front of the property. We took our bikes with us, so being able to store them in the garage was great. It is in a great location whether you are there for the beach or to go hiking as we did. Barnstaple isn't far away and we had a great day out there and also cycled along the Tarka Trail. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a week away in North Devon.
