Beautiful and spacious Shepard’s Hut in a lovely peaceful location. Well equipped and super clean. The Hot Tub was fantastic and always ready to enjoy.
The hosts are very welcoming and nearby if you have any questions.
The homemade treats and fresh eggs were greatly appreciated and were absolutely delicious.
We had a super peaceful and relaxing weekend and would highly recommend Horseshoe Hut to our friends and family.

Horseshoe Shepherd's Lodge is a beautiful, tranquil and wonderfully equipped place to stay. As a solo traveller, it offered the perfect space to sit with nature, reflect and contemplate, whilst also being close to local amenities, the Mole Resort and the Exeter Inn, if that takes your fancy.

Things that made the difference:
- home baked goodies on arrival, and a bottle of fizz :)
- big cups, a tea pot and quality utensils
- the comfiest bed
- a hot and powerful shower
- a ready-to-go log burner and easy to use hot tub
- privacy, peaceful surroundings and wonderfully friendly hosts.

It felt like Nikki and Spence had really taken the time to think about what would make this stay perfect and then made it happen.

Horseshoe cottage was truly delightful, a real treat with a wood burner and hot tub. It has been furnished with love and all the little details show this. Very high standard of cleanliness and I will definitely be returning and recommending to friends and family. Also, the nearby pub does an amazing Sunday roast.

This is the third year running we have been to this property. Nikki and Spence are the most amazing hosts. The Shepherds Hut is beautiful in a idyllic location and provides the most relaxing stay!!

Horseshoe shepherds lodge is exactly as described, beautifully finished and decorated and real attention to detail in every way. The hosts are lovely, so friendly and helpful. Total privacy in such well kept grounds. Highly recommend.

For us the Shepherds Lodge was the find of the year. I could not fault it. The hosts were brilliant who with their touches of luxury (fresh cakes, eggs and even wine) made this a fabulous and very relaxing stay.

0ur 2nd time at shepherds hut and rarely go back anywhere twice. Fantastic hosts who have taken a real pride in what they have created and the experience they offer. They left the best, home made and locally sourced welcome pack.
Situated in a pretty little village with a beautiful country pub, the Exeter inn serving great food with a very welcoming and friendly atmosphere.
The hut is not overlooked whilst you enjoy relaxing on decking or in hot tub so plenty of privacy which is important to us.
Great base for exploring local areas. We spent a couple of days having fun body surfing on beach at woolacombe, picking up a wonderful wood fired pizza from hut by the beach at end of day.
Lots of pretty walks from chittlehamholt or around the mole resort.
Exeter lovely city well worth a visit, we did this on our way to Dartmouth for our 2nd week but we were sad to say goodbye to shepherds hut and will definitely return.

Our stay at Horseshoe Lodge was just perfect. Nikki and Spence are the perfect hosts, full of information about the area, and on hand for any advice or help if needed.
The arrival treats were a lovely touch, thank you.
The lodge itself is immaculate, tastefully decorated and the bed luxurious.
The outside is relaxing, if you like peace and quiet, with birdsong as your background noise then this place is just for you.
The evenings spent in the hot tub star watching were the icing on the cake !!!

The shepherds hut was spacious and bright, there were flowers and it was so well decorated and furnished. The kitchen was extremely well equipped and even though we were staying in a hut we could cook quite happily. And very importantly the bed was very comfy.
The hosts were so friendly and kind but also respected our privacy.
The treats when we arrived were lovely and everything looked so welcoming and fresh.

What a fantastic place to stay. Nikki and Spence created this peaceful and beautiful retreat and made us feel very welcome. The Shepherd‘s Hut itself is fabulous on its own. But in combination with the pretty garden, the chicken patch, the hot tub and all the surrounding landscape, it is absolutely stunning.

We have just returned from our second holiday to the Horseshoe Shepherd's Hut at Chittlehamholt and, once again, we had a fantastic time. Nikki and Spence (who we now think of as friends) are generous and thoughtful hosts who are very knowledgeable about the local area and things to see and do. 'Horseshoe' is extremely well equipped with everything you will need (and more!) and spotlessly clean. The location is quiet and private. It is also only a two minute walk from an excellent pub which serves very good, reasonably priced food. We highly recommend the Horseshoe Shepherd's Hut at Chittlehamholt and will be returning again soon!

Excellent country escape. Great location for superb scenery and some fantastic walks, this sherperds hut has all the facilities you will ever need (and more)!! Not to be missed!!

A very special place. A wonderful place to relax and unwind. Very generous gifts left for our arrival - including the most delicious scones! The owners were forthcoming with advice for excursions and meals but gave us space too. The hot tub was amazing, especially under the most wonderful starlit sky. We would highly recommend and hope to return soon!

We had a very relaxing week at the Horse Shoe Shepherd's Lodge. A great welcome from the owners and loads of goodies to enjoy on arrival. The property was very clean and well equipped and the hot tub was well used. As EV drivers the Zappi charger was a great addition to the property and one of the reasons we booked. Trips to Exmoor, RHS Rosemoor , Appledore and the nearby Exeter Inn for meals. Thank you Nikki and Spence for a good week.

What a beautifully decorated, cosy hut this is! It had everything we needed and the welcome treats left for us by the owner were very much appreciated. The location is excellent - we visited the coastal villages, Westward Ho! beach and had a long walk on Exmoor to Dunkery Beacon. The hot tub after a busy day was bliss. Would highly recommend this property.

This Shepherd's Hut was incredible. We stayed for three nights and it was the most relaxing weekend!! Nikki and Spence were so welcoming and helpful. We needed a relaxing weekend and this is exactly what we got!! The local pub was a stones throw away and it was the best Sunday lunch we have had in a long time!!! Thank you Nikki and Spence this is exactly the break we were hoping for!!!

The description suggested a remote and idyllic setting. It was a hut in someone's back garden.
The description referred to chickens and 200 acres of land ..... there were 6 chickens plonked in the garden, so not exactly the natural rural experience you alluded to.

The 200 acres ...... well for anyone who has never ventured outside - yes. But if you have bothered to go outside, it's generally called 'the countryside' ....... This had nothing special and the description should be changed because it is misleading if not a blatant falsehood designed to sucker you in.
As you can tell, we felt totally cheated by the description and totally ripped avoid. There are better and cheaper places to stay in Devon.

Far exceeded our expectations, we throughly enjoyed our holiday in this fantastic shepherd's hut, ideal location, so peaceful and quiet, lovely local pub, choose this you will not be disappointed

A beautiful place to stay, would definitely recommend! Horseshoe Shepherd's Lodge is the perfect place to stay if you are looking for relaxation with all the comforts of home and lovely thoughtful finishing touches from the hosts. The pub is 3 mins away and serves delicious food and the hot tub is lovely after a walk though the woods to the river. We will definitely be back soon!

If you are looking to stay somewhere a little different from usual but with all of the luxuries you require in a secluded spot but with village amenities, an authentic pub serving fantastic food and a small shop within walking distance, then definitely consider this little gem. The shepherds lodge is cleverly fitted out with luxury furnishings and the hot tub on the decking is the icing on the cake along with the very private outdoor space and views. My husband and I stayed for 4 nights and would have loved to stay longer. We enjoyed a lovely country walk from the lodge and saw red deer in the forest which was a bonus for me. We explored lots of beautiful villages and towns by car including Instow, Appledore and Clovelly but we were happy to spend a rainy afternoon in the lodge reading and watching the many varieties of birds in the garden as it was so cosy.
I would recommend a 1 to 1 yoga session at the lodge with Sian whose details are given in the write up about the Shepherds Lodge. She will tailor the session to your ability and there was something very special about practicing yoga in privacy on a decking with such beautiful views and Sian is a lovely and unjudgemental lady.

Horseshoe Shepherds hut is a must if you cherish, peace and tranquility, love walks or just sitting in the large garden area and admiring the birds, squirrels, chickens and ambience. The hot tub is fab for a treat at the end of the days activities. Local pub is just 5 mins walk and offers friendly service and delicious meals. Definitely rate our stay here 10/10.

This is a larger than normal shepherds hut, with lots of space, very well equiped, very comfortable and setting is amazing. Would highly recommend this property to anyone who needs a relaxing and peaceful break.
The hosts are very accomodating and welcome touches shows their hospitality.
This is great value for moeny and we are looking to rebook again soon.

This was our 5th visit to Horseshoe and won’t be our last. Nikki and Spence are so kind and thoughtful, especially with the lovely goodies they are fabulous hosts. The weather wasn’t great this time but we enjoyed the hot tub, log burner and the peace and quiet. Meals at the local pubs were excellent.

This was our second visit to Horseshoe and we were so excited to return. Nikki and Spence are the best hosts and we were greeted with freshly baked scones, cakes and biscuits! The hut has everything you need and we loved making use of the hot tub and log burner. The pub next door is also fab! We had yet again a great stay and can’t wait to come back for a third time.

Wow. What a wonderful spot to relax and explore the beautiful surrounding area. The Hut has been finished to a high standard that makes it so cosy you don't want to leave. Nikki and Spence are very accommodating and gracious hosts. Nothing is to much trouble.

Well equipped shepherds hut with friendly hosts. Close to a good pub, with some (hilly) walks straight from the hut, one to the Grove Inn was good, with handy maps available.
The hot tub was lovely and enjoyed the welcome gifts.

We had a great time exploring the lovely area and visiting the local pub- The Exeter Inn for Sunday lunch which was 10/10. Horseshoe Shepherd's Hut is a gem. Such a lovely nest. So cosy and clearly appointed with much love, care and attention to detail. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at "Horseshoe" and appreciated the "goodies" awaiting us on arrival, especially the bubbles and delicious home-made cake. The hot tub was super and provided the ideal way to finish off a day of long coastal walks. This is one of the very best properties my wife and I have rented over many years. We recommend it without qualification. Sincere thanks to the owners N & S for their thoughtfulness in providing us with a memorable stay.

A truly magical weekend. The hut was spacious but comforting; the location was perfect, and the owners were lovely and genuinely cared about your stay. My partner and I went for a long weekend from the 8th of December to the 11th in which we were fortunate to be surprised with snow on our second day; due to the hills that surround the village, getting home looked to be a bit more tricky than expected but Nikki the owner was so kind and even offered for us to stay an extra night free of charge, which shows there generosity. I highly recommend it!

The local pub (3 mins stroll away) offers fine ale and excellent food and there is a hotel (12 min walk away) for an alternative eating out option. There is also a village shop for essentials if you don't want to drive anywhere. Book early as we have already told friends and family how great the Horseshoe Shepherd's Hut is!

An excellent stay at the impeccable Horshoe. Hosts Nicky and Spense have really thought of everything here. An array of quality welcome treats tempt you upon arrival; an abundance of ideas/ local information is provided; a spacious hot tub awaits; a very comfy bed beckons. A big plus too for the EV driver is the on-site Zappi type 2 tethered charger, which meant we could head home with a full charge. A truly relaxing stay!

Gorgeous shepherd hut in beautiful surroundings. The hut was very clean and very well equipped. Larger than the usual shepherd hut. We loved relaxing in the hot tub in the peaceful surroundings. The owners are very friendly and close by if needed by they didn't disturb our privacy. It is a beautiful place to relax and recharge your batteries. Will definitely return.

5 million stars. Truly exceptional. The shepherds hut is situated in a beautiful orchard just above some picturesque woodland in a peaceful rural village with a great pub and local walks . Having booked somewhere before through classic we thought it would be really lovely but horseshoe still exceeded our expectations by a long way. The shepherds hut itself is spacious, taller than I was expecting and beautifully kitted out. The hot tub is lush we must have spent hours out there. The owners have really gone the extra mile to make guests feel completely comfortable and pampered and they are very friendly but seem to have got the perfect balance between hospitality when you arrive and leave and perfect privacy during your stay. Thank you for all the treats and for the most blissful long weekend. It feels like a dream now. When we next have the opportunity we will be booking again and if we can deal with the envy then we will recommend to everyone we know. Thanks again.

So many extra special touches, hot tub ready to jump into, and prosecco chilling in the fridge, what more could we ask for.

Owners were exceptionally helpful and the Shepherds hut was so cosy and warm and set in beautiful surroundings. The pub two doors away has very friendly Landlord and serves excellent food and lovely atmosphere.

We had a lovely stay over the Christmas period, Nikki and Spencer made sure we had a good time with extra Christmas decorations, a lovely small tree and a card and gift for us, we would definitely come back again if we decide to holiday in the area again. The property was ideal for two, we had access to Netflix which was ideal for Christmas Day as it rained all day and most things were shut of course so we didn’t venture out, the hot tub was a plus too !

We absolutely loved our stay at the Shepherds Hut and have already recommended it to family and friends. It was the perfect relaxing birthday break, and we are so pleased we got there finally after several changes due to COVID! We couldn't fault anything; the hut was so warm and cosey; the hosts lovely and friendly and really cared about the little details and us enjoying our stay; the amenities were perfect - we loved the hot tub and log burner in the evenings and exploring during the day. Already looking forward to a visit in 2022!

The affectionate cat Zeus stayed over a couple of nights for sleepovers, we loved the snuggles! We absolutely loved our stay at horseshoe, we were so sad to leave. We booked it as a staycation for our honey moon, and it didn’t disappoint. Nicki and Spence were so welcoming, and their extra touches were so appreciated by us. Zeus the cat adds that bit more ‘homely’ feel as he turns up every time you get back from a day out. The location is amazing, it’s around 50 minutes away from Lynmouth, which is honestly the most breathtaking walk we’ve ever been on, absolutely blown away. We will miss our evenings on the swing chair, and in the hot tub watching the stars, and will certainly be back! Thanks so much again To Nicki and Spence, and classic for the best location. We will certainly be back!

A true gem in North Devon. We cannot speak highly enough of the Horseshoe Shepherds Hut and the welcoming homely atmosphere that Nikki and Spence have created.

The generosity shown, with homemade scones, biscuits and bubble on arrival was second to none. A detailed pack of walks and pubs around the area was very much appreciated, whilst the secluded hot tub to look at the stars each night was so special.

This really is a unique and beautiful location in Devon, matched only by its hosts. We look forward to many more adventures here.

We had a truly wonderful stay at The Horseshoe. It exceeded our expectations more than we could have imagined and Nikki & Spence went above and beyond to make our trip a very special one.
We had booked this trip as a substitute for what should have been our wedding day and honestly couldnt have asked for a better way to spend it, all our wedding blues were banished from the start right up until the end of our stay.

We had a lovely stay in February at Nikki & Spence's beautiful secluded hut. Its the best hut we have stayed at and we plan to go back when the weather is better.
Great location for cycling, walking and running so was perfect for us!
The Exeter Inn (very close by) is a lovely cosy pub, we enjoyed good service and a lovely meal for two.

This was better than we could ever have imagined! And the owners are the nicest people you will ever meet. We will one thousand present be back and I recommend to All! The attention to details is insane! And there are woods at the end of the garden with a beautiful stream and we even got to see deer.
