Reviews

The Granary is situated beside a working organic farm, a short walk from the picturesque village of Cuckfield on the edge of the High Weald, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (now known as National Landscapes). Once a former farm building, this beautiful barn has been thoughtfully and spaciously designed making it suitable for families, friends and those looking to stay in this beautiful area of West Sussex.

Accessed via a gravelled lane, as you arrive at the barn you will find a gated courtyard with patio, parking and a covered terrace. Large bi-fold doors lead into an open plan living-room which has a cosy sitting-area at the far end and a spacious kitchen/dining area with an additional sofa at the other end. There is also a ground floor WC.

The kitchen is very well-equipped and a great space for entertaining whilst creating your favourite holiday meals. The barn has central heating and WiFi throughout and in the kitchen/dining area there is also a wood-burning stove, perfect for those chilly afternoons and evenings.

Upstairs are two spacious bedrooms. At one end of the barn is the main king-size double bedroom with an en suite bathroom and at the other end is a double bedroom which has an en suite shower-room. Just off the landing is a door leading outside to a large balcony. Get out the barbecue and enjoy al fresco dining whilst taking in the views of the surrounding farmland and views towards the South Downs.

Dogs are very welcome here and you will find some great walks nearby including a footpath right next to the barn. Explore the Sussex Weald and lovely walks on the South Downs.

Mrs Ely

Another wonderful stay at The Granary. Such a comfortable cottage in a great location - we were sad to leave and can’t wait to return later in the year. Thank you!

Mrs Bussey

Fabulous

Mrs Ely

We had a fabulous stay at The Granary to celebrate my mother’s 80th birthday. A truly superb cottage, beautifully presented, incredibly spacious and in a great location - and very dog friendly too! We look forward to returning!

MRS Jones

Ideal location for touring around. Description to get to the property was ideal - not possible to find without it! Lovely nearby walks and town to walk about. Property very clean and tidy and had everything we wanted. Garden needed weeding which was the only let down. Lovely seating area outside and on the balcony which we managed to use despite it being September! Would definitely recommend to anyone wishing to visit the area.

Mrs Williams

A nice quiet location with plenty of parking space. Places of interest nearby.

Mr Velickovic

Lovely, comfortable cottage, in an excellent location. A particularly spacious, well equipped kitchen, with bedrooms and bathrooms both comfortable and modern. We very much enjoyed our stay.

Mrs Gosling

Good quality holiday house within walking distance of Cuckfield. Most tea rooms were dog friendly.

Mr May

Lovely setting and I very peaceful.

Mrs Williams

A lovely location quiet and peaceful. The village is pretty and has a good range of places to eat. Plenty of places to visit in the local area.

Mr Bannerman

Fantastic property in lovely location. We spent 5 great days in Sussex using this as an ideal base. Highly recommend this cottage.

Mrs Downs

Very enjoyable stay in a lovely cottage with plenty to see and do in the area. Hope to return in the future

Mrs Smith

Comfortable, well equipped cottage in a semi rural setting. The attractive village of Cuckfield is within walking distance and has some interesting shops and places to eat. Plenty of walks nearby where dogs can go off lead.

Mrs Rome

Spacious cottage in a lovely village where you can walk to the local pubs, shops etc. Lots of lovely dog walks in the area straight from the cottage which is great for those early morning/late evening walks. We enjoyed evening drinks on the decking overlooking the fields and spotting wildlife. Bedrooms and especially bathrooms are very spacious. Lovely deep bath to relax after a busy day out and about! We and our family enjoyed our stay. Thanks.

Mrs Miller

Not as peaceful as I had hoped due to its proximity to the A272, which is shown incorrectly on the location page. Also, this is most definitely a working “farm” and despite being at the end of a track, heavy vehicles pass the cottage frequently, commencing early in the morning.
