The cottage is ideally placed for a traditional seaside holiday, and a brief level walk takes you to the centre of St Ives with its beaches, restaurants, and shops. The open plan kitchen and dining area will make it easy to spend that quality time together during family meals. The woodburner in the sitting room adds an air of romance and makes it a great place to cosy up in the winter months.

Good or bad, we publish all the reviews left by the guests who have stayed at this property.

Mr Higgins

This is a very lovely old property with a cosy lounge and large kitchen dining area. The beds were comfortable but be aware that the bathroom is downstairs away from two of the three bedrooms. Also note that the lounge area only seats 3 people. There can be noise from the nearby pub, especially at weekends, but nothing some earplugs won’t solve!
When we visited we were very disappointed with the cleanliness of the property - it was not just superficial dust and cobwebs. We were offered another clean but the property requires a thorough deep clean in our opinion. Also the advertised coffee machine was missing - a replacement was ordered but not in time for our stay.

Mrs Holzer

Great location! Nicely arranged sociable accomodation, in great condition. The kitchen is well provisioned and spacious which allows for sociable cooking, and eating together. Some valuable outside space for the summer months. Smooth booking and arrival.

Ms Ratcliffe

Loved the Old Bakehouse! Excellent location. Nice having the split door and outside courtyard area. Lovely big kitchen/diner with sofa and TV, didn’t need to use the extra sitting room as this was cozy enough.
Quite area, even with the takeaways and Three ferrets pub on the next street we didn’t hear anything.
Cupboards stocked with everything you would need and more, dishwasher and washer a bonus.
Towels and bedding clean and beds comfy.
The kitchen /diner could have done with being slightly cleaner from the last occupancies, just had to give the worktops, breadboard bin and dining table a good wipe down before we started unpacking, not ideal but nothing major. Aspects did contact us to say they would have sent the cleaners back to re clean, this offer was really appreciated but I had already done it.
A few cobwebs about the place but we were there in September and towards end of the season.
We really enjoyed our stay, correspondence with Aspects was excellent, would stay again.

Mrs Wheatley

Such a cosy cottage in a great location. Very well equipped, comfortable beds, useful outside space and dog friendly too. My fourth visit to the Old Bakehouse, my top choice for St Ives!

Mrs Wheatley

Lovely cottage in a great location. Very well equipped, homely and comfortable all round. Great outdoor space, perfect for dogs too.

Mrs Coles

Lovely clean, plentiful accommodation close to the beach and all local shops.

Mr Dyer

Loved it!

Mrs Boardman

Great location, large house for 5 so perfect size. Has the right level of facilities. Great base for exploring.

Mrs Johnstone

Fabulous cottage on a narrow and pretty lane within easy walking distance of everything in St Ives. Cottage was clean, tastefully outfitted and very comfortable for us 3 adults and 2 young children. The only thing I would say is that the sitting room area has a tiny two seater sofa and one large comfy chair. If there are more than 3 adults staying some of you will be on the sofa or at the spacious dining table adjacent to both the sitting and kitchen area - its open plan so you can hear each other.

Turn left at the bottom of the lane (2mins) and you have a great little cafe and a magnificent cake/desert shop. The lemon meringue was our personal favourite!

There was zero noise disturbance and whilst we had to report a blocked bath plug hole on day one this was rectified very quickly by the owner of the cottage.

We loved our stay and recognise that ancient buildings come with all their quirks as well as their charms. Would def recommend as a fabulous place to stay in the always stunning st. Ives ??

Miss Joy

We stayed here last year and rebooked as this property works for us.
The location in the town centre is perfect for older children/ teenagers, as are the two twin rooms.
It is nicely decorated and beds are comfortable.
The kitchen is large and well-equipped and the little courtyard perfect for a drink al fresco and for drying beach paraphernalia.

Mrs Willis

Our third visit to this fabulous cottage, perfect location and had everything we needed. The outside seating area a lovely advantage to enjoy a drink or 2. The cottage is perfect on arrival and spotlessly clean highly recommend fabulous holiday ????

Mr Goss

Lovely homely cottage, quiet part of St-Ives but convenient for majority of town and beaches. The street was quiet which made dropping off bags easy. Aspect were quick to respond to a question we had. We have two boys under 5 and they thoroughly enjoyed our week there, it was ideal for them.
Would definitely visit again.

Mrs Wheatley

Lovely comfortable cosy cottage and very well equipped to the highest standards. Super comfy beds. We loved having the outside space. Our second visit and we will be back, it is so handy for the beach and town. Great for dogs too!

Miss Cooper

Great cottage with very close amenities.

Mrs Ward

Easy booking without any problems, reminders were appreciated too. The information in the holiday home was thorough and helped us during our visit. The property was homely, with great facilities.

Ms WILKINSON

We absolutely loved The Old Bakehouse! The beautiful and well equipped kitchen area is perfect for family (and friends dropping by) and the house is very comfortable and well designed (beds SO comfy). We have always stayed in Downalong before so were a bit apprehensive about moving 'into town' but it was actually super convenient having the Co-op and the high street just nearby. As for The Three Ferrets, we didn't hear a squeak.

Mr Beswick

Great location, perfect lay out for family’s.

Mrs Kirk

We were offered The Old Bakehouse as the accommodation we booked was unavailable last minute due to previous holiday makers damaging shower. I'm so glad we got to stay here over our original booking . We will definitely book here for future 4/6 person holiday .
Special note to Nicole for all your hard work finding us new accommodation at such short notice , amazing outcome , thank you . Jayne

Mr Leung

Lovely little cottage in a great location. Highly recommended, would stay again

Mrs Willis

Our second stay here and we will definitely be back again.Everything about this property is perfect we love it and the property was absolutely spotless brilliant holiday.

Ms Thorpe

This is a great property - our 3rd visit. We were 4 adults but it’s a really spacious, well furnished property.

Lovely to come at Christmastime; St Ives is fab at this time of year, just the right amount of busy! And a brilliant location, everything is right on your doorstep.

Mr Warrilow

Had a very enjoyable stay at the Old Bakehouse, and all the staff at Aspects in st Ives were very helpful and made are stay for our 10 year Anniversary very special

Mrs Boardman

The property is lovely with interesting features, very spacious for my family and dog. The shower is great especially after a long day walking the SW coast path. The location means that you are in the heart of St Ives, near shops, restaurants and beaches. Ideal to leave the car and explore St Ives and the surrounding area such as Carbis bay, easily.

Ms Thornberry

Really good location, not too noisy at all. Kitchen was very well equipped and bedrooms were comfortable. The house was not as clean as we would have liked, with rubbish being left from the previous guests and from the cleaners.

Mrs Giles

If you want a lovely cottage within walking distance from the shops, co op, cinema and beaches this is perfect. Great outdoor space for surf boards and dining outside. Highly recommend.

Mrs Roberts Brick

A lovely little dog friendly holiday home that's ideal for two adults. It's a very short walk (5 mins) away from the town centre and harbour beach. Plenty of towels and soap were provided. The bathrooms were very clean but the kitchen wasn't so clean.

However, just be warned about The Three Ferrets pub at the end of the street, it's very noisy at all hours, fights are frequent, and drug dealing does happen. This pub is the only reason I'd hesitate to return.

Mrs Willis

Absolutely stunning cottage, perfect location had everything you could think of. This cottage was cleaned to a very high standard .we really enjoyed our stay and will definitely return..

Mrs Moore

Lovely old cottage. Cosy and comfortable in a great location.

Mrs Rodgers

Just had a few days in this cosy cottage, wood burner worked well and we took our own logs for a continuous supply. The heating worked well (January). Great location for walking to beaches, shops and restaurants. Didn’t use the enclosed courtyard but must be great to have in the Spring/summer.
Used the parking at the Rugby club, up the hill, 20 mins walk up but happy to do that with the dog and works off the holiday calories. Actually didn’t use the car every day as so many lovely walks and exploring to be done in st Ives and locally.
St Ives is very dog friendly.

Mr McCarthy

lovely spacious stone house in a great location for exploring St Ives without your car. Lovely kitchen and equipment (we cooked a big roast), log burner, dishwasher, washing machine. Warm in January even without using the fire. Cooking books and board games, smart TV's for login with your TV accounts. Convenient to Co-op supermarkets just 1-2 minutes away on foot. Spacious outdoor courtyard with table and chairs, accessed from the kitchen door.

Walking in from the front door there is coat hanging space and a bedroom to the left with two bunk beds. this then opens up into the living area with a lovely dining table and sofa and a nice big kitchen with great cooker/hob and equipment. The bathroom with washer/dryer is accessed from the end of the kitchen and has windows onto the courtyard. compact lounge with a smart TV and then the upstairs are two good-sized bedrooms and WC. The front bedroom has the double bed.

The property is away from busy roads and traffic. You can drop off luggage at the property but you will need to park away from the property either in the nearby council car parks £47.70 for the week or like we did find some street parking 5 minutes away up the steep hill. If you are not accustomed to town centre noise, do bring earplugs or sleep in the back bedroom (with the 2 single beds) as it can get a little noisy as people leave the 3 Ferrets pub.

Would love to come back and visit again.

Thanks

Ms Thorpe

Fantastic house in a great location! Really spacious and furnished and equipped
to a high standard. Beautifully clean and comfortable!

This was our second time at The Old Bakehouse.

St Ives is a wonderful place to come at Christmastime!

Mrs Harris

Lovely week in Cornwall as always , property is in an amazing location just around the corner from everything but comes with a price which is noise from the local pub between 9pm and 3am every night . The cottage is a good size but I would not want to stay there with children due to the going’s on of the pub.

If you are a heavy sleeper it’s a good place to stay ??

Mrs Boardman

The property is fantastic with plenty of room for a family of 4-6. The outside space is a bonus and the shower is amazing. The kitchen and dining/ kitchen table are great and full to the brim of what you need!

Great location - close to the shops and amenities.

Mr Spence

Two Week Stay Again With Aspect Holidays...

The Old Bakehouse Is A Great Property Located Well Within Stives, Lots Of Space For A Family Of 5+.

Well Equipped With Everything You Need. Ideal Having The Two Sitting Areas With TVs Too!.. Extra Added Bonus Is The Sun Trap Courtyard Which Is Great To Relax in.

Mrs Butt

lovely kitchen dining area and bedrooms but living area poor far too small also area not so good

Mr Ludgate

First class accomodation

Mr Redfern

Enjoyed our stay at the Old Bakehouse. The 2 bedroom property has everything needed for a comfortable and enjoyable stay. It is close to all the amenities and is only 5 minutes to the sea front. The only issue could be the close proximity to the 3 Ferrets pub and the late night noise that could come from that. Overall however, we really enjoyed our stay.

Miss Kennedy

A beautiful and peaceful cottage. The downstairs space was bigger then we thought and felt very relaxed. Really nicely done. Really close to shops etc but still quiet. Only thing to improve was the driving directions; I would definitely come down the street rather then up it as it is very tight and you avoid the corners by coming down.

Mrs Neath

Excellent location, little outside yard, great cottage for family’s and friends Fully equipped kitchen and cosy log fire. What more do you need?

Mrs Kirby

Lovely week away. Cottage so convenient. Spacious and great that it is dog friendly.
Great shower and lovely hot water always.
Unloading is tricky outside property due to narrow road so worth considering but that's just part of staying in St Ives.
Owners are lovely and visited promptly when we had a loss of power in the property.

Miss Shackley

Amazing place! Would definitely recommend to anyone who needs a place to stay. Such a cute cosy cottage with an outdoor sitting area perfect for summer. Right in the heart of St ives on a lovely cobbled street. The landlord and people working at Aspects were so lovely and helpful, can't really fault it!

Mrs Foreman

Fantastic little cottage, which was perfect for our little family. It is in a great location and so cosy with the log burner on in the evenings. We will definitely be returning!

Ms Piggot

We really enjoyed our week at The Old Bakehouse in January - extremely well equipped cottage which was very clean and comfortable. Great location in St Ives, and an easy walk from the train station. Great to have a log burner - our only wish was for more firewood! Very easy to book, and a very friendly team in the Aspects St Ives office.

Ms Marinho

A comfortable cottage. Well equipped kitchen for cooking and a lovely table and seating to enjoy a meal together. Cosy seating round the log burner but bring your own logs!
The cottage worked well for 3 of us on a weekend stay. A bit noisy on a Saturday as the pub tips out!

Mrs Collins

Our first holiday as a family of 3 and we all loved every moment. The weather was brilliant and then to be able to come back to the Old Bakehouse was such a wonderful way to unwind. The house felt spacious, was well equipped, clean and comfy, and in a wonderful location close to so many beaches and shops. Amazing amazing week

Mrs Trentham

We really love staying here , have done a few times perfect for our growing family

Mrs Novotny

Thoroughly enjoyed our few days in the Old Bakehouse. The property more than met our expectations in comfort and location. Good for a couple or larger group. Loved the kitchen/dining area and our dog enjoyed his holiday as well.

Mrs Crimes

All equipment & fixtures were first class.

Mrs McLeish

Way above expectations! We booked it fairly last minute as a kind of ‘it will do’ and it was such a pleasant surprise! We’ve been to St Ives for 8 consecutive years and stayed in a variety of places - this was among the best for our young family!

Mrs Kitchener

A really lovely property with a very lovely kitchen and fantastic high spec equipment inspiring me to cook rather than eat out! The outside area was great to sit out in and enjoy a pre-supper drinks and snacks as well as enjoying an afternoon cup of tea whilst having a break from the hustle and bustle of the beach. Perfectly located for the harbour and shops, it's near several convenience stores and near good long term parking locations. The owners and staff at the office were really lovely when we had a bit of a hiccup and if they ever want to swap The Old Bakehouse for a small holding near Wales, we'd be more than happy to do so! All in all, it's an ideal home from home and we're looking forward to returning again sometime soon.

Mrs Stevens

A fabulous cottage within good walking distance of the town and beach.
Everything was provided you could possibly need.
The cottage has lots of original features and we loved the log burner in the evening, so cosy.

Mr Avena

A wonderfully decorated and equipped cottage within perfect distance of the Harbour, shops and restaurants. A thoroughly relaxing weekend away.

Ms Lindsay

Very sweet cottage, seriously well equipped and fantastic central location.

Mrs Davies-Carolan

Great location, just be aware of the parking, which we were. Very warm and comfortable stay.

Mrs Wood

Fab stay. Will be returning!

Mr Nagiel

Lovely traditional cottage in the heart of st ives, the welcome pack of tea, biscuits etc was very nice, we had a lovely stay.

Mr Williams

Fantastic location and great property. It had everything we needed.

Mr Reynolds

Bit of noise with traffic of people out of the pub on Fri and Sat nights in front bedrooms. Comfortable beds. Great well equipped kitchen, lovely living space - nice to be together in open plan areas. Stayed in 3 aspects cottages now and all have been of a very high standard.
