Mermaid House is a beautiful three-bedroom cottage, tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the town, yet within easy walking distance of the harbour and surrounding cobbled streets of St Ives. Set over three floors, each room offers comfort and invites you to relax, whether getting a peaceful night's sleep, or unwinding on the large sofa, to plan tomorrow's adventures. The contemporary kitchen and dining area has plenty of equipment and space to dine together, and the open plan layout downstairs means you needn't worry about getting in each other's way. The younger family members can enjoy themselves in the snug upstairs, catching up on their favourite shows or playing games and, not to be left out, up to two dogs are welcome to join your Cornish holiday. The small courtyard to the rear is perfect for storing beach gear.

Good or bad, we publish all the reviews left by the guests who have stayed at this property.

Mrs Brunton

A great location and nice comfortable house. Lots of space so everyone could relax. The appliances lacked instructions and a washer drying and clothes dryer / washing line would have really helped as there was no way of getting anything like beach towels dry. Overall a nice stay though and st Ives was beautiful as always!

Mrs Adams

We really enjoyed our stay at Mermaid House. It had everything we needed and we would recommend it to our family and friends

Mrs Walters

Location of the house was good and facilities themselves were fine. However upon arrival the house was filthy and the lounge smelt really strongly of dogs. I don’t mind a little smell but this was overpowering and unpleasant. We had to clean numerous areas (floors in multiple rooms, kitchen cupboards - before we could unload our shopping, the rug - was so filthy it was taken away and “probably be thrown out”, to name a few - there were more) and had to vacuum everywhere (which wasn’t easy when the vacuum was full (no spare bags provided) and it had a very unpleasant smell). Not worth the money we paid and gave us a really rubbish start to our holiday. Complained and Aspect holidays said they’d send a cleaner that day, then the next day, so I gave 5 hours we were out the following day, returned home and the cleaner hadn’t come during this time so had to email and chase it. 1.5 hours later was told the cleaners were on their way but this was inconvenient. The cleaners arrived while the 6 of us were trying to relax. Aspect emailed several hours later to say they tried to cancel but couldn’t get through. Although we heard both cleaners on their phones ring they were with us but don’t believe it was aspect holidays by the conversations had. Although even if they got through by then this was too late. Communication from Aspect wasn’t the greatest. We were very disappointed with the whole experience. Wasn’t our first aspect holidays booking but it was definitely our last!!

Mrs Sugrue

very good value for money. the spare room makes a very useful 4th (single) bedroom, the house is in an excellent location and not up any steep hills, it was also pleasantly set out.

Mrs Lewis

We have stayed at this property twice now as it so comfortable & in a great location.
I would highly recommend.

Ms Harvey

A lovely house for a family in a great location for town and all the beaches.

Mrs Forrest

Convenient and comfortable with great showers!

Mrs Byrne

The house is in a great location, which is what we wanted as our daughter is registered disabled. Externally the house needs tidying and cleaning up. There was a broken blind in the front window and there are ants inside the property at the bay window and evidence of some kind of wood rot in the flooring. Windows hadn't been cleaned for some time by a window cleaner. The upper bedroom the curtains didn't fit properly and that window needs replacing. We stayed for 3 weeks and although it was a good base, I don't think we'll stay in St.Ives again. The flooring in the kitchen needs improving especially near the dishwasher, we all joked that it was like a trap door !
We initially had Joshua's cottage booked and due to unforeseen circumstances with that property Aspects offered us Mermaid House instead. If you've never been to St.Ives before try and avoid driving through town as it can get very busy and congested. We loved our holiday to Cornwall and packed in as much as we could in that time. Overall St.Ives is a lovely place and it had everything we wanted like bars, restaurants and fabulous beaches !

Ms Owen

Good location for being away from the hustle of the high street, but a nice 10min walk to Porthminster or Porthgwidden beach. House was pleasantly spacious for St Ives and had plenty of room for 4 adults, 1 child and 2 dogs.
