A wonderful cottage to stay for a visit to StIves but be prepared for a steep walk to the parking space which would not fit an estate car very well. The streets are narrow and quaint so park outside and offload before going to parking space. Easy to find with the instructions. Great shower which is always a bonus. Only a few minutes to walk to the harbour, shops, restaurants and beaches. The cottage is beautiful with a sea view from the attic room. Kitchen is in the basement with a low headroom meaning a few bangs to the head! Lots of stairs so maybe not suited to some people. All in all though a gem of a cottage and a fantastic home for your holiday.

We had a lovely week at Fisherman's Retreat and enjoyed being so close to the town and an easy walk to cafes and beaches. The house is well equipped and comfortable and worked well for our family of four with plenty of space for everyone, though tall people should take note of the low ceilings warning!
Mrs Packwood
It was a lovely spot, great location and lovely interior. The kitchen although well equipped is a challenge. I’m 5’10 and it was a challenge to be in that kitchen! It’s an incredible shower, powerful and great for post beach days. The attic room doesn’t have a door on it, it’s worth bearing that i mind as well as it gets a bit hot in the on the top floor!
Mrs Hawdon
Lovely property good location and private parking near by too, however the standard of cleanliness in the property was unacceptable throughout the property
Miss Perry
Another wonderful holiday in St Ives. First time staying at Fisherman’s Retreat and it was by far the best house we have stayed in. Perfect location and house was spotless with everything we needed, we could have moved in!
Mrs Pidduck
Excellent property with secure parking. Very well equipped and lovely welcome pack on arrival. The harbour, shops and bars very close by. Fantastic holiday.
Ms Harvey
A good location, with easy walking access for town, the beaches & the station, great for families.
Ms Hayward
We just returned from a week booking at Fisherman's Retreat. It is a very spacious and lovely decorated property with comfortable furniture within, it is a bonus to have 2x toilets and a lovely large walk in modern shower. The car park space in a secure garage just around the corner is very convenient.
We will definitely return to Fisherman's Retreat and would highly recommend it.
Mr Murnieks
Last minute booking at half term. Very nice property with free parking which is a big bonus in St Ives. Very convenient quick access to shops in town.
Mrs Lancashire
Fisherman's Retreat is a lovely place to stay in St Ives. The property is really nicely decorated, and the layout is just perfect. The location is also great, on a small street which is really quiet, but the property is close to everything you need it to be! I would definitely recommend this to anyone without hesitation.
Mr Taylor
Joshua’s cottage was disappointing. It’s only positive point is that It is in a good location only five minutes walk into the centre. The cottage itself is all a bit tired and could really do with a very deep clean. When we first arrived our first impression was that everything that looked nice on the photographs was just clever photography.
The kitchen is awful. The owners seem to think that if they inform you of it’s problems in the cottage literature folder it will be acceptable but it’s really not and this cannot be left unsaid.
The kitchen is damp with an overpowering smell. The cupboards are not clean inside and emit a musty smell when opened. We felt we had to wash everything before we used it as we were worried about mould spores on the crockery and utensils. Before we arrived we were told about the well in the floor and how you may hear a flushing sound. The kitchen floor has a permanent sheen of condensation which we assume is the damp. We did try to avoid going down there as much as possible as It is not nice at all. One morning when we went down the kitchen floor was actually flooded where the well in the floor had overflowed. Admittedly this was swiftly dealt with by Aspects but was to be honest just another nail in the properties coffin. Whilst we were sorting out the flooding problem with Aspects we obviously spoke about the kitchens other problems and were told that it was probably caused by
the rock to which it is built into and led us to believe it probably can never be cured. The cleanliness or lack of it I was told was the fault of the cleaning company and would be addressed by Aspects via e-mail. In our opinion the kitchen should never have been built there at all. It is a basement and should have been left as one. It has five hazardous steps upwards to the small outside area which is not a pleasant haven at all, the decking is neglected and green with an assortment of tatty chairs and a large broken circular washing line that cannot be folded away encroaching the space. The lounge furniture is tatty and the gaps between the sofa cushions are filthy with grime and sand which made us uncomfortable and not able to relax on. Going upstairs the banister paintwork is a bit sticky probably from multiple hands and needs a good wash down. The bedrooms are pleasant enough with clean bedding and plenty of towels but the carpets are grubby and could do with a really deep vacuum. The bathroom is tired but appeared clean with good water pressure. Joshua’s cottage is the third Aspects property we have stayed in and this is the first time we have had cause to complain.
Mr Taylor
Compared to other similar properties we’ve rented through Aspects this didn’t feel good value for money.
Mrs Jolley
Great cottage with easy access to all the beaches & very well equipped for your holiday needs
Ms Mclean
Good location for access to beach. Fairly basic property which is good with kids and if visiting beach. Beware of steep steps and low ceiling in kitchen but a lovely place to visit and a good base.
Ms Crisp
A comfortable property when occupied by four, in an easy location. The terrace is pretty dinky but catches the morning sun. Aspects were helpful when we had questions.
Mr Arthur
Nice central property with great easy access to town, beaches and parking which was a real bonus.
Careful using kitchen if 6 foot or over - in basement with low ceilings.
Mr Newhall
Great location and useful to have a parking space (although first on the left in the car park and not the right as the arrival info advised and also not signed) but property is tired and in need of updating. Not particularly well maintained or clean.
Also the kitchen is in the basement and therefore only suitable for people under 5’9” which is not mentioned in the property’s particulars.
Mr Terry
this accommodation was comfortable, warm and clean and everything you would expect in your own home.
Mrs Dunkley
Fantastic stay aspects were a great company to go through
Mr Ward
Property is a good size for a small family, with three spacious bedrooms and the potential to be great. But requires investment in internal fixtures / fittings and garden amenities to be a truly comfortable and enjoyable holiday home we would return to.
Mrs Light
Nice cottage
Good location has a reserved car park space would recommend
Mrs Dimmick
Joshua's cottage is very well positioned in St.Ives and the gated parking is an absolute gift.
Short walk down to the Wonderful shops, restaurants and cafes, there is so many to choose from you will be spoiled for choice.
The house itself is comfortable but with lots of steep stairs so not ideal for children or anyone with mobility issues. Very comfy beds and the top bedroom has wonderful views across the roof tops to the sea.
