The cottage is located along a quiet cobbled street in the centre of Castletown, the ancient capital of the Isle of Man. Just around the corner you will see the impressive medieval Castle Rushen once home to the Kings and Lords of Mann.
There are three other Manx National Heritage sites in Castletown - The Old House of Keys, The Nautical Museum & The Old Grammar School all within a 5 minute walk from the cottage.
Ard Mor provides an excellent base to explore what the Isle of Man has to offer.
The cottage is also just a five minute walk away from the Billown road racing circuit which hosts the Southern 100 races in July, as well as the Pre and Post TT Races.
Ard Mor is very easily accessed from Ronaldsway Airport approx 5 minute drive and Douglas Ferry Terminal approx 20 minute drive. Taxis are available outside the airport terminal and Douglas sea terminal.
With access to public transport only a 5 minute walk away the cottage is ideal for those travelling without a car to explore the Island.
For larger groups this property can be booked alongside Ard Lee and Ard Beg which each sleep 3 people. Ard Mor is the end of the three cottages.

We had an amazing summer stay at Ard Mor and thought it was perfect for two adults and a child! The cottage itself was very pleasant to stay in, and there were lots of features that we really appreciated: the shower is great, for example, the lounge was well decorated and perfect for relaxing in, and we had everything we needed for cooking. It’s a fantastic location too, being on a nice quiet road and just a few minutes into town. Our three year old particularly appreciated the short walk to the steam trains and playground! We were also very impressed with Island Escapes itself, which provided an amazing welcome guide in advance which covered everything we could have possibly wanted to know about the property and its equipment plus lots of information about Castletown and the Isle of Man. I like to do a lot of advance planning and to know exactly what to expect, and this was definitely the best welcome guide we’ve ever received to that end. The staff were also very friendly and helpful when we had a question. We were expecting the parking situation to be tricky given that we visited in the height of the summer holidays, but we were actually really lucky and managed to park right by the entrance to Mill Street every day but one, and on the one day there wasn't space we were easily able to park for free on Bridge Street, which was only about a 3 minute walk away across the pedestrian bridge. I’m not sure if this is the typical experience given what other reviewers have said, but we were pleasantly surprised. The only thing we had the tiniest spot of bother with was that the wifi was a little patchy while we were there, but this wasn’t a major problem for us at all and may well improve for future stays.

Really lovely old cottage and comfortable. Steep staircase but there is a sturdy handrail. However there is a small shallow step on the landing to be wary of. Lovely large master bedroom let down in our opinion by only having a double bed. There is plenty of space for a king size bed. Realistically no parking nearby. We used the car park at the old grammar school which has excellent ev chargers and is about a 10 minute walk away The cottage is well positioned for strolling around Castletown and we enjoyed evening strolls with our dog.
