Beach House

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Mewstone View. The house was well equipped with everything that you could need and everywhere was spotlessly clean. The bedrooms were all an excellent size and very comfortable. The view from the decking area was stunning and even better from the top bedroom. Good location for exploring the local area. Only issue was there was no phone signal but there was good WiFi connection so we were still able to contact people when we needed to.

Fantastic position overlooking Wembury Beach, spacious accommodation, well appointed. Bathrooms and bedrooms on every level worked really well for the needs of our group, especially the upper ground level which is ideal for older guests because they don't need to go up and down stairs. The deck is a fantastic space really adding to the wow factor. The outside shower on the lower ground level is brilliant for washing down the dogs, wet suits and other beach equipment. Although Wembury beach is not dog friendly in the summer the beaches at Wonwell, South Milton, Bovisand, and Salcombe North Sands are and aren't too far away.

A really lovely place with great facilities and fantastic views. Highly recommend.

Great cottage, very clean, good condition and finish. Amazing sea view from master bed and lounge and outdoor deck. Near a small beach which is walkable and has a national trust car park and small cafe. Near lots of nice areas but traffic in summer can be slow...! Good dog walks. Overall very nice.

Everything was high spec we found nothing to detract from what was expected. We had a marvellous time at Mewstone view it was very comfortable and relaxing. It had everything that we needed to make it a perfect holiday.

Having spent a week at this property , we found that it did not come up to a satisfactory standard. general maintenance was poor. some sinks were partly blocked with drainage smells shower waste was partly blocked causing flooding over the floor shower spray head was broken toaster was not working correctly kitchen extractor was not working correctly The BBQ was not cleaned which caused a serious fat fire and risk to health. Classic cottages were informed of these issues but although sympathetic to my complaints I feel that they were just looking after the property owners interests and not willing to get involved reach a satisfactory response from them. The property owners did not accept that the BBQ fire was caused by a fat fire and lack of maintenance which clearly it was. I will not be using Classic Cottages again, as their holiday client I would have expected to be treated a little more fairly with greater respect which in this instance I was not.

We sent a special message onto the owners and housekeeper--that this was a superb house, and special thanks for the Christmas tree, mince pies and flowers. We could not fault it and the location. We managed to cook a full Christmas dinner with puddings for 6 and had all the equipment we needed. We have recommended this property to our family and friends, having been recommended by a family friend who stayed there in 2019.

Lovely house for a family holiday with all facilities. Minutes away from an attractive beach where there is surfing and kayaking and a National Trust cafe.

Liked the light bright feeling of the house, being able to open a complete wall to the air ( we were lucky with the weather!), the flexibility with the large deck and the grassy areas for a small child to play, the stunning view.

The accommodation on 3 floors worked well for different generations. Useful outdoor shower for those returning from the beach with sand on wetsuits. Kitchen is well equipped. I wished I had thought to take some oven gloves rather than struggling with tea towels. The cutlery drawer is well marked, but it still took me a while to find it secreted in the island! Thoroughly enjoyed the view of the Mewstone with a couple of great sunsets. The furniture is good, but not so precious that you are worried about it. Overall I would recommend this house to those wanting a house half a mile form a great beach. Not too far to walk to a dog friendly beach, just 8 mins to the West along the coastal path.

We had a perfect week at Mewstone, the house was a perfect fit for all 6 of us and two dogs. We loved being so close to the beach and found the area a great place to explore with the dogs. We highly recommend this holiday home for a fun packed seaside retreat. The only disappointment was not being able to take the dogs on the beach but with the beautiful SW coastal path on the door step we managed some super walks.

the location is good, the views are to die for, the cottage is beautifully decorated with high quality of finish and is very well-equipped. The upstairs bedroom and bathroom lack head height due to the eves, but the compensation is the stunning view to wake up to.

Ideally situated for an extended weekend break. The beach and cliff walks are a 5 minute walk away. We stayed here with our 3 children and their partners, 2 grandchildren and 2 dogs and had plenty of space. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you need. The bedrooms are clean, comfortable and suitably decorated with access to bright and modern bathrooms. We stayed here in February so didn't make use of the outside areas but the large decked area with barbecue would be a real asset in the Summer. Stunning views from the loft room even when lying in the bed.

A lovely place to stay with an interesting combination; local beach (walkable) and relatively quick access to a range of other visitor attractions from Plymouth to small coves and beaches. Lots of walking opportunities.

Beautiful immaculate house with the most amazing views, even better than the photos. Very well equipped. Lovely outdoor areas especially the decking area which had very nice quality outdoor dinning furniture and a good size barbecue , not to mention once again those amazing views Fantastic costal walks pretty much on the door step, can’t wait to return.

Struggling to recommend this cottage as the upside was definitely spoilt by the downside which disappointed us hugely. We would not return. Recognising we couldn't change a thing we dealt with the lack of hygiene as best we could and then made the most of our stay despite the much anticipated enjoyment being marred.

I loved my stay in this beautifully equipped, well designed and comfortable house - parking right at the front door was wonderful ... and the views of the sun setting behind the Mewstone were sublime. Superb walks in the area - and so many places of interest to visit. I highly recommend Mewstone View as a place to stay and holiday.

Great location!! Everything was great, the house and the views to Mewstone are amazing. We have just one thing to critize, that‘s the widths of the beds. The double bed downstairs was to small for us.

The whole family, including two dogs and a baby had a great time at Mewstone View. The views and location are excellent. A great base for some fantastic coastal walks. We all enjoyed our family vacation. The house is clean and modern and fully equipped. We highly recommend Mewstone View.

Three generations had the most wonderful, comfortable, relaxing week at Mewstone View. Super clean, modern hi spec home. Notes left by the owners and milk and flapjacks etc left for our arrival made us instantly feel welcome. The beach is just a short walk from the house. The view is mesmerising, especially at sunrise and sunset. Thank you.

Absolutely perfect place to stay for peace and tranquility. No need to leave the house as everything you need is there. Beautiful views. Accommodation 5* and suits all ages.

A really brilliant well equipped house that we all loved. We would definitely recommend as a great holiday location. There was plenty of living space for our large group of 8 adults and two babies! Short walk to the beach, cafe and cliff walks was perfect.

A stunning property, excellently equipped and furnished to a very high quality standard, making for a luxurious break. We loved it!

The closest beach was not no nice but we drove to blackpool sands which was amazing although it was an hour drive. The house it's self and the people in wembury are absolutely fabulous the people in the area are very helpful and friendly. We enjoyed the no network in and round the area we got to spend more time with each other. There is wifi for uploading photo on Facebook hahaha and if you have viber you could call out and the watsapp works as well Overall fantastic holiday
