Bertie's
Set in a quayside location, in the heart of the unspoilt historic fishing village of Polruan, is this delightful holiday haven boasting wonderful views across the glistening waters of the Fowey estuary over to the popular town of Fowey. Immerse yourself in village life from this plum location with two local pubs, a cafe, bakery, village shop and the little tidal beach right on your doorstep. It's the place to kick back and watch the comings and goings along the water or marvel at the boats and sailing ships in the neighbouring working boatyard.
Step inside and a warm coastal welcome awaits with calm and relaxing interiors to set you right into holiday mode. The sitting-room takes centre stage, showcasing those fabulous views and the warm glow of the wood-burner makes this an ideal retreat for those out-of-season breaks. The galley kitchen is just what you would expect with the maritime heritage that surrounds, but with a great food and drink offering on both sides of the estuary, you would be forgiven for only using it to boil the kettle or chill the wine.
Ascend the stairs at Bertie's to the two surprisingly spacious bedrooms and the family shower-room, with a large shower enclosure ready to set you up for the day ahead.
Although there is no dedicated outdoor space, owing to the plum waterside location there are a number of seating spots along the quayside where you can perch and watch the world go by.

Mr Wilson
Location, location, location! Right on the harbour front. We lucked out and had an amazing festival outside the house for the first couple of days. The big window at the front is lovely to sit on with a brew and take it all in. Dont be put off by no garden, the harbour is on your doorstep. You can time the ferry to Fowey by looking out of the window! Great village shop, nice pubs. House is bigger than it looks on the photos. Great for the dog - we had the weather as well. Get used to hills. Parking and dropping off is typical Cornwall so just take it in your stride. Lovely walk to Fowey as well involving two ferries, you dont get that in Cheshire! Recommended. Family of 4 and spaniel.
