Florian
This bijou beauty is just perfect for romantic getaways or for solo travellers seeking to escape the everyday. A stunning converted shipping container, it boasts idyllic countryside views and a fabulous outside bath for a soak under the stars.
Enjoying a secluded setting on a non-working farm, Florian is a fantastic retreat near Wedmore in Somerset. A cleverly repurposed tiny home for those wanting to holiday off grid for a while but with all the luxurious trimmings, it boasts a king-sized bed, floor-to-ceiling glass windows and doors, cosy log-burner and a unique outside bath for dips à deux. Tucked away out of sight and surrounded by countryside, this is a wonderful haven for peace-seeking folks that’s also dog friendly, while at the same time it’s not far from the pretty village of Wedmore and all the top Somerset spots to visit such as Cheddar Gorge, Glastonbury Tor, Wells Cathedral and the Mendip Hills.
The main living space is open plan, with bi-fold glass doors making the most of the beautiful countryside vista. Pulled back during warmer weather to bring the outside in, or firmly shut during the winter months for storm spotting curled up on the sofa, this is a spot for whiling away the hours in complete peace. With no TV, Florian is ideal if you need a digital break (however, phone reception is good). There’s a log-burner set in the corner, a comfy sofa for lounging, board games and a table and chairs for romantic mealtimes. In addition, there’s air conditioning should you need it for hot summer days. Alongside the living and dining space you’ll find the kitchen, complete with oven, four ring hob, dishwasher, Smeg toaster, kettle and all the basic equipment you’ll need for cooking for your loved one.
Situated between the living area and the bedroom, the shower-room with sliding doors on either side has a walk-in shower, WC, wash basin and heated towel rail.
Through to the bedroom, you’ll discover a calm, tranquil space with king-sized bed (you’ll have to scoot over the bed to access the other side, but that’s all part of the charm!), hanging space, air conditioning and a large window which can be opened on warm mornings for breakfast in bed, or leave open on blissful nights to hear the call of the owls. In addition, there’s a fantastic skylight above the bed that’s made for stargazing - heaven!
Outside, a lovely wooden deck awaits with seating for sunbathing, while an incredible al fresco bath makes for a truly unique experience – run a lovely hot bath with bubbles, sink in for a soak with a glass of something special in hand and watch the sunset, or the stars, or even the sunrise if you’re an early bird. Truly magical! The garden isn’t enclosed, so offers a truly off-grid garden experience. If you have a dog with you, please ensure they’re kept close as there are fields of sheep nearby.

Miss Wlodarska
We stayed here for three nights and while the location itself has potential, there are a number of areas that could be improved to make the experience more enjoyable.
The wood burner was difficult to use – the glass door was completely black on arrival and needed cleaning just to see the fire. It also seemed like the chimney might be blocked, as the fire went out each time the door was closed. There was no fire blanket or extinguisher provided, which felt unsafe.
We found there were no instructions for most of the appliances (dishwasher, oven, hob, wood burner), only for the air conditioning. The towel rail in the bathroom was also extremely hot with no warning sign, which could be a safety risk.
Practical details were lacking: no outdoor bin (so we didn’t know where to dispose of rubbish or dog waste), no first aid kit, no oven glove, and no recycling options. We also had no contact details for the owner, only Classic Cottages, and unlike other places we’ve stayed, no one came to greet us.
The property was advertised as having super-fast WiFi, but we couldn’t connect at all during our stay, and with no mobile signal either, we were completely cut off. The outdoor seating cushions were covered in mould, which added to the feeling that the accommodation wasn’t well cared for.
Compared with other glamping sites we’ve visited, we missed the thoughtful extras that usually make a big difference – things like a firepit, books, a guest book, or a small honesty shop with wood and essentials. Information about local walks, pubs, shops, or attractions would also have been very useful.
Overall, the stay was fine but disappointing compared to previous glamping experiences. With more attention to detail and better care for guests’ safety and comfort, this could be a much better place to stay.
Basically to charge the premium prices premium service needs to be provided.
We hope all this will be addressed and maybe in a future we will give this place another go.
If this is your first Glamping and have no expectations then you may have enjoyed the whole stay.

We stayed at Florian for one week with my husband and our dog, and we truly loved it. The cabin is very stylish, cozy and well-equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay. We especially appreciated the privacy and the peaceful surroundings. The area is quiet, with parking, and there are pubs and a supermarket close by. The sea is just a 15–20 minute drive, and there are plenty of hiking trails in the area. I would definitely recommend having a car to fully enjoy the location.
A few small points to mention: the house can warm up quite quickly, although the two AC units do a good job of keeping the inside cool. Outside, after around 1 pm, there is no shade, so an umbrella or similar option would make afternoons even more enjoyable.
We were also touched by the welcoming pack, the thoughtful dog pack, and the fresh flowers—they made our stay feel extra special. Thank you again for a grwat experience — we really enjoyed our time at Florian!
