This lovely, light and spacious detached house located on Fairy Road in Seaview, just a short stroll from the seafront, makes a fantastic base for a wonderful holiday on the Isle of Wight. This exclusive road is perfectly positioned in Seaview, all the local amenities and beach are within walking distance from your front door, including a general store and Lily’s cafe. There is private parking for one small car, plus unrestricted parking on Fairy Road itself.

The front door opens to a superb open plan kitchen/dining-room with additional soft seating to sit back and relax on, whilst keeping an eye on the little ones at supper time. Merivale is also ideal for two couples or families, as there are two bedrooms on the ground floor, one is a king-size double and the other is a single.

Bi-fold doors off the kitchen, lead out to a good sized enclosed garden with paved area, bringing the outside in and making this a superb property in the summer months. The kitchen is modern and very well-equipped, with a sociable layout and a large dining-table which easily caters for everyone. There is a separate sitting-room, also with double doors opening to the garden, ideal for the kids to watch a film in the evening, whilst you linger over mealtimes and leisurely plan the days ahead.

Customer reviews

Good or bad, we publish all the reviews left by the guests who have stayed at this property.

Mrs Turnbull

We thoroughly enjoyed our week in Merivale which we found spacious, stylish and very comfortable! It is in the perfect location in Seaview, close to all the local shops, pubs and cafe and of course the very beautiful beaches. It really is a very special property.

Mrs Graham-Palmer

Wonderful place to stay. We all had a fabulous time and were very lucky with amazing weather for part of our stay which makes it even better!

Mr Mitchell

Lovely light and airy house a short walk from the beach though Sandown had wonderful sands extensive sands. Small enclosed garden with a popular tree swing. We found the road rather noisy in the evening as many of the houses were holiday rentals. The open plan layout worked well for 3 generations, as there were two bedrooms downstairs and plenty of well appointed bathrooms. We may e en return again as there was so much still to do on the Isle of Wight.

Miss Alcock

Really lovely spacious house in a perfect position in Seaview - less than 5 mins from the coast. Great for a larger family - good parking available.
Details of what’s available in the house was lacking - WiFi password, location of travel cot, high chair available but not listed etc
Would absolutely consider staying again

Miss Russell

Brilliantly located and incredibly comfortable. Beautifully presented and a great layout with dining area and fully separate lounge. Bathrooms and en suites immaculate. We'll definitely be booking again. Thank you.

Mrs McAvan

Lovely spacious house with good sized rooms, very comfy beds and ample bathrooms, excellent location

Ms Spires

Spacious house in very good location, easy stroll to beach, fully enclosed rear garden. 3 good sized bathrooms with plenty of hot water, comfy beds. Parking space only suitable for a small car but plenty of room on road outside the house.
Little room in kitchen for own goods as cupboards so full. Some issues with doors not closing. Lack of bathroom cleaning equipment in main bathroom.

Mr Cox

Great house, location and layout. Not impressed with no stair gates, no oven gloves, 4 coat hangers and 7 pegs! Not ideal for a family. Hopefully these things will be provided for the next family that stays

Ms Little

We throughly enjoyed our stay at Merivale. The house was in an excellent location. Very close to the beach.
The house had everything we needed. We will definitely be back.
If there were any negatives it was only that you need to take some clothes hangers. As there were only 4 in the property.
An excellent property in a beautiful location.
5 Stars from us.

Ms Rawes

Great property, property exactly as seen on website. Great location, minutes from beach, pub and local shop.

Mr Montgomery

Excellent property - spacious and light with all you need. Garden is perfect for dog.

Mrs Ives

Lovely house, very spacious. Good layout of bedroom's some being downstairs so good for elderly Parents. Very secure garden for dog. Not far to seafront where you can see lovely sunsets

Mr Hansford

Merivale is a large spacious house, with 3 separate bathrooms with baths and showers. There is a large enclosed safe garden. Parking is easy on the road. The location is in easy walking distance from the beach which is a mixture of sand and pebbles. We loved the area, Ryde is a pleasant walk away along the coastal path, Seaview is a lovely area with a nature reserve, sailing training school, a couple of pubs, community shop and a coffee shop.

Mrs Gregory

We had a lovely, comfortable week at Merivale and do recommend it, as a quiet retreat within easy walking of two local pubs and the village hotel, for drinks and dining,

Mr Rose

The Merivale was a lovely bright, clean and very spacious house with a very useful utility room.
The three bathrooms were also large clean and bright and the showers worked very well with plenty of hot water.
We found the beds to be very comfortable and all the rooms to be spacious.
However, as there was only the two of us staying for the week we used the downstairs Kingsize bedroom as our as our main bedroom and the downstairs single bedroom as a dressing room because there are no wardrobes provided downstairs, only chests of drawers in each room.
Also just to add on a personal level for us we found it a bit disappointing there were no televisions in any of the bedrooms but we understand this may not affect everyone.
Personally for us, we found the main lounge sofa and chairs uncomfortable and not very homely.
However, the sofa in the dining area was very cosy and comfortable.
We had our small dog with us that used the garden but on arrival we found it to be slightly untidy and overgrown so we contacted Classic cottages and they rectified it by sending a gardener around the very next day.
Overall we would highly recommend this property and would consider staying here again ourselves.
Being that it’s approximately one minute walk from the sea it’s a lovely place to take a stroll and a nice quiet area with the Old Fort pub, just up the road serving nice food.
All the local Takeaways we ordered were very good and delivered on time.

Mrs Gray

We loved our stay at Merivale! It is so well located in the village and has everything you need. It has a well sized garden with a bbq and a great kitchen. All the rooms are lovely and it had great new bathrooms. We really enjoyed our stay and loved being so near the sea! Having been coming down to Seaview for over 30 years, we would recommend Merivale!

Mrs Gamble

Absolutely beautiful home perfect for a family holiday by the sea. Well equipped for children and spacious and comfortable bedrooms. Child friendly garden complete with apple tree and swing.
Seaview is such a lovely location - beautiful beaches, and we highly recommend the Old Fort for a meal, if you can bag an outside table you can enjoy your dinner overlooking the sea. Also there is a great 15-20 minute walk round to Appley beach where we spent hours, after a delicious brunch at The Dell cafe.
We are hoping to be back again one day in the future!

Mr Clempson

A very comfortable and well-equipped property in a quiet village location a very easy and short walk from the large beach and close to Ryde. In our party there were five adults, a child, an infant and a dog. There was plenty of room for all of us and with an enclosed garden and stairgates fitted it was very safe for the little ones and the dog. The house is nicely kitted out, comfortable beds and modern bathrooms and perfectly located for the beach and nice walks.

mr Pillier

Good overall house, quiet location, small enclosed garden, everything is nearby.

Mrs Jones

We had a fantastic week at Merivale helped by the great weather! House is very clean and comfortable and had everything we needed for 4 adults and 2 teens plus a dog! Brilliant location for walking to the beach, pub, cafe etc and will definitely be back.

Mrs Trippitt

Excellent holiday in a lovely house in a great location.
I would happily stay again and recommend the house to friends.
Thank you

Ms Balment

Overall a great location but property tired and needs some decorating

Mrs Verma

Merivale was an ideal home away from home. The decor of the home is to a high standard and the extras added in the property for children make your holiday perfect including a swing in the garden. The house is very spacious allowing families to have their own space if needed. The location is amazing as so close to the beach and shops/food whilst being quiet and peaceful. Would highly recommend anyone to stay here for a lovely holiday on the Isle of Wight.

Mrs Hill

Lovely house in a great location, less than 5 minutes walk from the sea, pub and shop. Plenty of parking outside on the street.

Mr Mackintosh

Very comfortable and clean, close to centre of Seaview. Excellent kitchen good Tv's , wi-fi intermittent.

Mrs Alford

Merivale is a very comfortable and wonderfully located holiday house in a charming small seaside town. The fact we could walk to the excellent community shop, to the very good local eateries and to the sea makes it a highly commendable ( and dog friendly) place to stay.

Ms Diglas

Merivale is a lovely house with high-quality beds, good bathrooms and very well equipped kitchen. Unfortunately, the soft furnishings are looking very tired.

The location is great - Seaview is a lovely, sleepy little village with a fantastic beach. We greatly enjoyed walking the beach with the kids, all the way along to Ryde...and being a foody kind of family, we must mention the lovely Village Community Shop, the Seaview Deli for scrumptious sandwiches, the really friendly service, great food and fantastic drinks at The Old Fort and for a very good „posher“ kind of evening out, The Three Buoys, just great!

Mrs Fleming

Lovely cottage, in a great location.
