Reviews

This gem is situated in a peaceful and tranquil setting in a National Landscape (an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty) with farmland views, a short drive from the coast and the medieval towns of Rye, Battle and Hastings.

This property has its own gated entrance and private parking. The main door of this beautifully crafted barn leads to a welcoming hallway where there is a cloakroom and door leading to the living area. The country-style kitchen has everything you need to whip up a culinary feast. There's a dining-table, two sofas, Smart TV and double doors that open to a pretty cottage garden with sun-trap patio. Lose yourself in the countryside views, with the calming surrounds of mother nature.

When the land of nod calls, head upstairs to the bedroom where there is a comfortable double bed and a delightful shower-room.

Although the barn is secluded the owner lives nearby. You may be lucky enough to meet Boba the cat and Bramble the dog who can sometimes be seen wandering the gardens. If you do bring a dog, please note that it must be kept on a lead as the garden is unfenced and there are often sheep grazing in the nearby fields.

This is not a complaint but beware the configuration of the property is such that you have to watch your head height in some locations but again that adds to the character of the property.

Mrs Pullen

This lovely property fulfilled all our expectations. The location is breathtaking. We woke every morning to bird song and sheep bleating in the surrounding fields. Having breakfast in the pretty garden in the peace and tranquility was bliss.
Chris is a delightful host and made us feel very welcome. The lodge is perfect for two, with everything one could need. Very comfortable bed and an excellent shower.
Our toy poodle became great friends with the owner's dog, Bramble, too!
There are too many highlights to mention, but one notable experience included walking the dog at Rye Harbour, where we saw seals basking on the mud- flats along the river Brede. Rye itself is a gem. In addition to its fascinating history, the town boasts excellent eateries and numerous independent shops. Try Ethels for special local gifts and The Apothecary for great coffee and pastries. The Seafood Bar at the Fish Market is a fun experience where the food, which is cooked to order, is fresh and delicious....

Ms Berneiser

I had such a lovely stay in the serene cottage. The little house was the perfect getaway after my meditation retreat amidst flowing fields. And the owner is so very welcoming & helpful. Altogether absolutely perfect stay. I will definitely book again when I am in the area.

Herr Bahr

It was a really relaxing stay in Hayesland Lodge. Everything was excellent. Nothing else to say.
Dog owners will be very happy at the beach of Broomhill Sands, better than Camber Sands.

Mr Dugdale

Hayesland Lodge is in a beautiful setting. In a beautiful part of the country. Places like Hastings and Eastbourne are within easy reach and well worth visiting. Lots of other interesting places too depending on your taste. Chris the owner is a very friendly perfect host. We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to anybody.

Mrs Ferriday

A beautiful area to explore with so many fabulous gardens close by, beware of the many single lane ‘roads’ and you will need to mind your head when in the bedroom.
Built to a high standard in keeping with the farmhouse and local area with lots of gorgeous woodwork throughout.

Mrs WOOLHOUSE

Hayesland Lodge was a perfect holiday let for my husband and I to enjoy our week in East Sussex. We explored inland and to the coast - the roads were quiet and very scenic. We particularly enjoyed Great Dixter, Rye and Winchelsea but ran out of time to visit all the places on our list. We will definitely return to this very comfortable cottage.

Mr Otte

We’ve had a lovely stay at Hayesland. Very nice comfortable cottage with beautiful views in the very quiet and peaceful countryside.
The cottage has everything you need and we didn’t even miss the WiFi! It’s not bad to be a little less online.
Rye is a lovely town with everything you would want.

Mr Brannan

A wonderful place to chill out for a week. On a quiet road with extensive views, a sunny garden, and good walks from the door.
Our host designed the cottage himself, and has thought of everything for our comfort and convenience. He also has a wonderful friendly old dog.
Good pubs locally, and lots of places to visit.
