Escape to rural Devon bliss and become an Exbourne village local for a week; from walking the numerous bridle paths to popping to the local pub for a swift half, not forgetting your morning stroll to the village shop for the paper and fresh local produce. This dog-friendly barn offers the best family holiday spot, yet is the perfect size for a couple or a solo traveller. Once discovered you will return year after year!

Pull into the walled courtyard, park up and set about enjoying the thrill of discovering your holiday abode for the first time. This beautiful thatched barn has been fully refurbished from top to toe with no detail or finishing touch overlooked. The open plan kitchen/dining/living-room exudes character and charm thanks to carefully purchased furniture that's complemented by all the mod cons of 21st Century living, meaning the kitchen is fully equipped should you wish to rustle up a Sunday roast after a morning walk across Dartmoor. The sitting-area offers the perfect spot to snuggle into the sofa and indulge into a film or to get lost in a holiday read!

As the sun sets on a relaxed day climb the stairs where you will find both oh so pretty bedrooms. Each room offers a sense of calm and relaxation thanks to their muted tones, crisp white linens and inviting beds. Bedroom two requires those taller guests to mind their heads on the sloping ceiling but that's what character is all about. The spacious family bathroom sits offers a little luxury thanks to the fitted rainfall shower over the free-standing bath.

The small and intimate courtyard to the back of the barn is the perfect spot for a barbecue or a sundowner however you can open the garden gate and explore a further five acres of garden and meadow which the helpful yet discreet on site owner can help you with should you need pointing in the right direction.

Attached to The Hayloft and sharing the parking-area is the equally charming [The Threshing Barn (5733)]( https://www.classic.co.uk/holiday-cottage/desc-5733.html "The Threshing Barn"), making this the perfect option for an extended party or multi-generational family stay!

Mrs Zola

The Hayloft is a beautifully appointed 2 bedroom cottage. We were greeted with the most beautiful coffee and walnut cafe which just happened to be my favourite!
It has the most comfortable beds and the best bath to soak in. We made several meals at the cottage and found everything we needed. We had a Tesco delivery prepared before our journey.
We didn't explore far. The village has got a pub that doesn't do food but if needed there are several options if you are prepared for a short drive. There are beautiful grounds at the property.
Our purpose for the break was for rest and relaxation and The Hayloft was great to fulfil that.

mrs Harris

Beautiful accommodation, had everything we needed, lovely private garden to rear. Very quiet location but good base for exploring.

Mr Corner

A great property, roomy and tastefully furnished. Field immediately outside the rear of the property is ideal for dogs.
Friendly local pub (no food) and shop.
Good location from which to travel to and enjoy some great walks, many along riversides. Some lovely pubs for food within short driving distance.

Such a cosy, beautifully and tastefully restored barn. So warm and homely, spotlessly clean and very comfortable beds. We very much enjoyed our stay and would recommend this lovely property as a great base to visit the surrounding area.

I felt relaxed and safe at this lovely holiday barn.
