This stunning coastal home, just a short stroll from gorgeous Croyde beach, is made for families or a group of friends, with open plan living, tranquil bedrooms, sea views and a garden complete with playhouse and swings - and it's dog-friendly too!

Less than five minutes' walk to the sea, Homelands lies in the pretty town of Croyde on the coast of north Devon. Spacious and open plan with a large south-facing terrace, this dog-friendly holiday home is perfect for families with little ones, boasting a playroom, playhouse, swings, games and toys to keep even the most active children entertained. There's also baby equipment, a stroller and a baby walker should you need it. With jaw-dropping views across the dunes and out to sea, it's the perfect spot for total relaxation. There's ample living space, meaning everyone can spread out, while four peaceful bedrooms offer an escape to retreat to at the end of the day.

First up, the kitchen/diner - definitely the heart of the home. With a range cooker, granite worktops, combination microwave, American-style fridge/freezer, dishwasher, Nespresso coffee machine and all the other equipment you'll need to rustle up family feasts, cooking here is a total breeze. In addition, a separate utility/shower-room is home to a washing machine, tumble-drier, a WC and double shower cubicle - perfect for rinsing sandy toes. Next to the kitchen lies the dining-area with a table nook. Making the room extra special is a magnificent double-sided wood-burner, meaning it's shared with the living area next door. In addition, glass doors lead out onto the terrace, meaning warm sea breezes can waft through on summer days. The first space has two sofas, two recliners, wood-burner and floor-to-ceiling glass doors. The second area has a comfy corner sofa, leather bean bags and a Smart TV with soundbar. Should you have Sky at home, for added entertainment, you can bring your own card and use the owner's Sky box. Finally, next to the kitchen lies the fantastic children's playroom - ideal if you want to keep an eye on the little ones as you cook. With a sofa, books, games, Smart TV and French doors leading out to a Wendy house, there's plenty to keep the younger members of the party entertained.

Upstairs, there are four spacious bedrooms sleeping up to ten people. The principal bedroom has a super-king bed, with views over the dunes and an en suite bathroom with a shower over the bath. The second bedroom, with sea views, has a 'zip and link' bed so can be made up as either a super-king bed or twin beds, plus an en suite bathroom with a corner bath. The third bedroom with king-size bed, boasts its own sea view balcony with outdoor seating - the perfect spot for morning coffee or cocktails at sunset! The fourth bedroom has two sets of full-size bunk-beds sleeping four in total and overlooks the back garden. There's also a family bathroom with separate WC on the first floor.

Outside to the front of the property, there's parking for four vehicles and a south-facing garden with a terrace. Accessed from the dining and living areas, there's a table and chairs seating up to 12, two barbecues and sun-loungers - perfect for entertaining on a sunny day. To the back of the property you'll find a handy outside shower for washing off the beach equipment, plus an enclosed decked area (accessed from the playroom) with a Wendy house, outdoor toys and a children's rattan table and chairs. There's also a lawned garden and a swing for children - this area isn't fully enclosed so children and dogs should be supervised at all times.

Mrs Bartlett

Wonderful house, comfortable and clean and perfect location. Second time staying at the house and would definitely stay again.

Best

This is a nice property. It is comfortable and well laid out. The location is also good. It could be a 5 star property but due to a few maintenance issues e.g. broken patio door, crumbling decking, unanchored play equipment we can only rate it 4. We hope the owners do attend to this as we'd happily book it again if these issues were rectified.
