Good or bad, we publish all the reviews left by the guests who have stayed at this property.

Mrs Allder

We had a lovely second stay at the Oyster bed. The property is beautiful and the owners have made sure there is everything you need.
Lots of little touches, decoration is modern but also nice and cosy when it’s a bit cooler outside. We sat on the balcony with a glass of wine in the evening to listen to the sea, blankets came in handy!
Will be back again for sure.

Mrs Powell

We have stayed at this property many times and cannot fault it. The location, views, cleanliness and comfort make this a fabulous place to stay. The beach and village within a very short walk offer all you need for a truly lovely Cornish stay. A very good base for exploring further afield also.

Mrs Brearley

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Oyster Bed. The facilities were excellent and the property was immaculate. It was ideal for our two dogs with a short walk to the beach. The views from the living area of the beach were amazing and we would highly recommend staying at this property.

Mrs Haywood

Holiday at The Oyster Bed on Friday 22nd to Friday 29th August 2025.
What a lovely holiday home, very clean, well equipped and nice little welcome touches with tea, coffee, milk and biscuits.
The view from this property is just beautiful, watching the tide come in and out at Mawgan Porth. We were fortunate enough to have great weather so had the bi-fold doors open most of the time we were there.
The house is dog friendly and there is a garden at the back of the house ehich is part stone part grass, secure for the dog to be let out.
All in all a very welcoming holiday home and relaxing place to be.

Mrs Frost

We had a great stay, such a beautiful location and the views from the property are fantastic! The house was clean, stylish and very comfortable/well equipped. There a short walk down a steep road to the beach/amenities, there is no pavement but it should not put you off, as the views more than make up for it! Overall Mawgan Porth is a great base for a holiday, I would recommend the spa at the Bedruthan Hotel, we had lovely meals at Merrymoor Inn and Catch, there is a local shop but there are usual larger supermarkets within 15mins of property. We had a teenager with us and so the Giant Slip and Slide in St Columb and the Oasis Fun Waterpark in Newquay were hits. Finally, if you get a chance pop to St Mawgan, such a pretty village with a Japanese Garden, we had Sunday lunch at Falcon Inn, which is was lovely.

Miss Dix

This is a beautiful property in a beautiful part of Cornwall. A dog friendly beach is a short walk down a hill, with a local pub & other eateries/shops close by.

Mrs Hatton

THE best property we have ever holidayed in. Beautifully presented, cleanliness second to none. The biggest comfiest beds and best nights sleep in ages. Kitchen truly equipped for a self catering holiday- not all holidaymakers can afford or want to eat out every day. The bathrooms and showers were so luxurious ! The views are incredible from all aspects of the house and the little private enclosed outdoor garden was a bonus. Little touches like fresh milk, tea , coffee and biscuits - all local- were such a welcome and appreciated treat after a long journey.
You really do get everything in this fantastic house. We will be back for sure

Mrs Allder

Spectacular property, somewhere you could spend time in when the weather isn’t so nice. The views were amazing!
Intend to stay again ??

Mrs Kenny

What is described is what you will have ,they have equipped the House to a high standard .The two minute walk to amenities is steep but well worth .

Mrs Powell

The property has the most amazing views from along the valley to the beautiful beach. Lots of amenities within a short walk and excellent road access to many places. The property is well laid out and maintained and has everything you need. Parking is very good and includes two spaces. We loved it so much we have booked again.

Mr Jackson

Lovely property with minor niggles.
Well equipped and very cosy.

Mr Borrie

An exceptional property in an amazing location. The apartment had everything you could wish for and the views over the beach were breathtaking. My family including dog had a hugely enjoyable week here and really appreciated the close proximity of the beach (although the path down is, as mentioned by many, a bit treacherous and I can't understand why the local council couldn't just cut back the bushes a bit further).
The shops/restaurants down by the beach are also really good and we ate there most nights.
One minor thing to mention is that the stairs from ground to first floor of the apartment are quite steep and, being bare wood, can be a bit slippery. Nothing that the addition of some non-slip pads wouldn't solve, but as it stands it could be awkward for young children / old pets.
But overall I'd thoroughly recommend this property.

Mrs Little

Oyster Bed was amazing. It's exactly as described and fulfilled our needs as a family of four adults. We spent many hours looking at the wonderful view from the house. Please don't let the short walk to the village down the side of the road put you off, it really isn't bad at all !!

Mrs Hennefer

A lovely home in a fantastic location. I had no problems with the hill down to the beach and the house had everything we needed including a wonderful view. Definitely want to return.

Mrs Hennefer

This is a beautiful property in a lovely location. Handy for walks and lots of good quality eating out places on the doorstep.
The walk down the hill was fine and gave a fantastic view of the beach.
We will be back!

Mr Markham-James

Fantastic house, fantastic location, with a superb beach in the doorstep.

Not the fault if the property but such a shame not at least a small path from the property down the hill. Cars/buses etc with us also walking on the road can be an unsafe, especially at night (take a torch if visiting the pub/restaurant in the evening)

Mr Jack

Second visit to the Oyster Bed property and very glad to return. Property is positioned nicely above Mawgan Porth giving great views to the beach and village. The property is finished to a high standard and very well equipped, with nice little extras, books, games and a basket of lovely throws. We enjoyed many moments taking in the scenery on the balcony. Mawgan Porth is such a simple little village but offers everything needed for a great family beach holiday. We have visited many times and will definitely be back soon.

Mrs Martin

We had a fantastic holiday at The Oyster Bed. Sea views were wonderful spent most evenings with a glass of wine enjoying the view. We loved St Mawgan did lots of walks and discovered nice cafes and the Falcon Inn pub. We will be back

Mrs Ambrose

This property is very well appointed in every aspect… views amazing and the decor and furnishings are of luxury standard… but the house is also very homely with everything you would need to cook if needed. We would definitely return.. only downside is the walk to beach from property.. maybe a problem for anyone with disabilities and parents with pushchairs and toddlers.. but overall we loved our stay.

Mrs Carr

The accommodation was amazing, the level of furnishing was fantastic and we found it so comfortable, the beds were super comfy. The kitchen was really well stocked and we loved the complimentary supplies, it was also great to have some basics like salt/pepper and dishwasher tablets too.
The location of The Oyster Bed suited us perfectly, with great local amenities. The views from the lounge and dining areas provided the best of both landscapes.
Our children also loved the selection of books and games provided, all so really well thought through for a family to enjoy.
Truly one of the best holidays we’ve had in Cornwall.

Mrs. Bricknell

We were blessed with great weather for October to start with. The house was exactly as described. Really warm (a bit too warm actually!). Comfy bed, great shower. Loved the new microwave, oven and induction hob. Comfy sofa. Enjoyed sitting in the garden and good size balcony. The bifold doors really brought the outside in too. Incredible views out of all windows, beach and country. House is very well equipped for cooking and for children.

Although there is not a pavement on the walk down to the shops and beach, but there is a well worn narrow "track" and it is a short walk, albeit a bit steep for the unfit or infirm holiday maker. Great walks along the coastal path and inland to St. Mawgan.

Left feeling very refreshed and motivated and that's what a holiday is all about!!
Thank you.

Mr Jackson

Lovely place, incredible views.
High quality furnishings & appliances.
Great showers.

Small cleaning issue resolved swiftly when highlighted.

Dr Stokes

Oyster Bed is a 5 star holiday retreat. Extremely high quality and comfortable accommodation with beautiful views of the sea. It is in an excellent location only 5minutes walk to all the local amenities and the beach. We had a fabulous family holiday and we will certainly book again.

Mr Jack

Fantastic location with wonderful views down to village and beach.
Loved the balcony and had many breakfasts and evening drinks looking out over Mawgan Porth
Very well equipped kitchen as enjoyed eating in as well as out at the Merrymoor and local take aways.
Nice garden area with surf shack and outside shower used numerous times after surfing.
Very comfortable beds too!
Overall a fantastic holiday with lots of sunshine!

Miss Dix

Wonderful stay at the Oyster Bed. Beautiful property set in a stunning location at Mawgan Porth. Dog friendly and close to the dog friendly beach. We will be returning!

Mrs Ross

This is a great property with fantastic views and a quick walk into the village and beach. Bedrooms and bathrooms were great , beds were really comfortable and plenty of storage. Would definitely stay here again.

Mrs Hinton

We have just come back from a wonderful week staying at The Oyster Bed in stunning Mawgan Porth.

We loved the stylish decor/furnishings, new equipment, and layout of the house - the view overlooking Mawgan Porth beach from the balcony was wonderful!

Car parking at the property was easy, with 2 generous sized bays for each property.

It was so nice to be able to quickly walk down to the beach from the property and spend the day enjoying the beach and surf. Thanks for providing 2 bodyboards for guests’ use.

The little shops in the village were very well stocked and the food at the Merrymoor Inn was really good, especially the catch of the day. Our daughter and husband booked surfing lessons and hired equipment from the local surf school.

The house and location were superb and we received great customer service from Aspects Holidays from the moment we booked up. We certainly hope to stay at the Oyster Bed again!

Mrs Waelend

Beautiful property in a great Location, with wonderful views of mawgan porth beach. Property was very comfortable and well equipped.

Mr Chadwick

Overall a really nice house to stay in, very modern and perfect location! Great garden for a dog, good parking - be aware there is no working electric car charger available if you need it. Would definitely stay again!

Mr Doyle

This company is extremely good, we've stayed at their properties on numerous occasions now, and you know that they will not be renting a property that is not up to their high standards. The Oyster Bed did not disappoint. Spotlessly clean on arrival, a very well equipt kitchen, very spacious lounge and comfortable bedrooms. View from balcony superb. Paddy, our labradoodle had a wonderful time with the beach 5 minutes walk away, and well maintained coastal paths heading East and West of the beach. Thanks, for a lovely break.

Mrs Chapman

Oyster bed is a great location. The views and the fact that it has a safe garden for four legged guests is a bonus.

Mr Flood

We loved our stay at The Oyster Bed in Morgan Porth.
A fabulous house (the best we have stayed in) - so spacious, comfortable (brilliant beds and sofas) with a balcony to enjoy early morning and evening sun looking down on the beach (which was a lovely clean beach with regularly serviced bins by a lovely crew - I think it is a private beach).
We were lucky with decent weather and great surf (if the beach is red flagged we found Watergate Bay was still surfing). I think no matter the weather we would have been happy staying in this lovely property.
Great local fish restaurant "Catch" which we went to twice and, probably, would happily have eaten there most nights.
All in all a great place for a holiday.

Mrs Lad

This property is perfect for those that want an easy walk to the beach. The house is very light and airy and provides everything needed for a relaxing and comfortable holiday.

Mrs Butler

I suggest I wait until my emailed issues are addressed before reviewing as currently this would be my review:

House dirty - dusty, dirty mugs, glasses, headboards thick with dust, balcony not clean.
View great, however included view of shared bin area which had overflowing rubbish. allocated parking a bonus. Getting cleaning basics right required for a £2k plus a week property.

Mrs Lonsdale

We spent a lovely week at the Oyster bed in June 2021- it is an excellent property, well maintained and fitted out to a high standard. Contrary to the forecast, we had good weather all week. There are loads of things to do around and about in addition to the fabulous beach at Mawghan Porth, where we enjoyed a family surfing lesson. Go karting at St Eval is fun and Tintagel Castle is awe inspiring. Great fish and chips in Mawghan Porth and plenty of restaurants in Padstow. Crantock Beach just the other side of Newquay is a must.

Mrs Bent

Stunning property! Fabulous location. Excellent facilities in the house
We loved our week there!

Miss Underwood

The Oyster Bed is an amazing place to stay. Stunning views of Mawgan Porth beach & surroundings. Fixtures & fittings all of a high standard, comfy beds, beautiful well equipped kitchen & easy parking.
Lots of beautiful places within easy reach, you don't have to travel far. Coastal walks aplenty!!
Would love to visit again sometime, one of my most favourite places I've visited in Cornwall, excellent!

Mrs Wright

We absolutely loved our stay at the Oyster Bed! the views are stunning and so convenient with a quick stroll down to the beach and facilities. We found the local store to be really useful too stocking most things. We would defiantly stay again.

Mrs Walton

Wow absolutely loved The Oyster Bed - in fact it was so good we booked again for next year on the second day of our break. Mawgan Porth is a favourite of ours so this accommodation really hit the mark on location and views. And the accommodation is lovely - would highly recommend!
