We really enjoyed our week at The Haven. It is in a lovely location with beautiful gardens, and the accommodation was very clean and comfortable. We hope to return soon for another peaceful relaxing holiday.
Mr Lynch
Wonderful house in a beautiful location, yes the drive is steep but not really a problem.
Mrs Jackson
This is one of the most idyllic places I have stayed in a very long time - the only sounds around are the genuine sounds of nature. The house is beautiful and cozy and has most things needed for your holiday.
TV has multiple channels so there is always something to watch if the weather takes a turn for the worse!
If you are lucky (as we were) there is so much to see and do locally... a public bridal way is literally 50 metres from the property for a mini adventure.
All in all an amazing property with great views... so good we booked it again!!
Dr Purkis
Superb location. So peaceful and lovely distant sea views. Lovely large garden. Track up to house was much more manageable than reviews had suggested. Very spacious accommodation. Great wifi and Smart TV. Kitchen extremely well equipped. Lovely to have sunbeds and table and chairs on the patio area. Wooden floor in living/kitchen area made it easy to keep tidy even with dog in the party! Outside tap and short hose also helped with muddy paws, as did enclosed porch for boots etc... Lovely holiday and well placed cottage for local trips. Right next to bridleway for walks to beach. We had a brilliant two weeks.
Mr Bell
Lovely cottage, warm and cosy. Very clean and well presented.
If you want peace and quiet The Haven will be an ideal choice.
Would have no hesitation in recommending The Haven as a great place to stay.

We totally enjoyed our stay at The Haven, comfortable, well equipped, peaceful and ideally placed to explore the area. I would stay there again and recommend it to all.
Dr Sharkey
We had such a wonderful week at The Haven. It’s set in such a beautiful garden in an idyllic quiet location just miles away from the best parts of West Cornwall. Despite mixed weather, we did a lot of exploring. The Haven was the ideal spot to venture to Porthcurno and the Minack, St Ives, Sennen beach, St Michael’s Mount, Mousehole, Cape Cornwall, Botallack and more.
The drive to the house is a little bumpy but we were expecting this and it was totally manageable. The house is brilliantly equipped and cosy. We were grateful for the comfy cushions for the garden furniture and we even managed an evening reading on the sun loungers. Our kids (8 and 5) declared it the best holiday ever and it would be hard to disagree. Thanks so much Aspects!
Mrs Gethin
Gorgeous location with a footpath below the garden. Amazing trees and spring flowers. Nice garden. The peace is amazing there.
Very conveniently situated to easily reach St Just, St Ives or Penzance with wonderful walks and ancient sites to visit in between
The house is a gem. Everything is very attractive indoors and all worked fine and it was spotlessly clean. The shower behaves nicely and doesn't freeze or scald you!
Mr Blackburn
Great location to explore Lamorna, Mousehole and the surrounding area. Well furnished, decorated and good standard of equipment. Property is in a very quiet and private location near the top of a hill and the access track is fairly narrow and steep so may not be suitable for all vehicle types, certainly not suitable for some sports cars or large vans/MPVs.
Mrs Thompson
Nicely positioned property for touring the area. The property is nicely furnished giving a very relaxed feel inside and out
You need to be aware that the shared access drive to the property is challenging if you have a larger vehicle or low sports type car
Dr. Jones
What a gem of a house! Being up on the hill in the evening sun overlooking the fields and sea in total quiet…what more could you ask for. We’ll be back!
Mrs Wicksey
We have just returned from a wonderful week in Cornwall staying at The Haven. The house has everything you could need, it was fully equipped with comfortable beds and spacious rooms. The views are far reaching across the fields to the sea. As per other reviews, the road to The Haven is steep and narrow with many pot holes, but once you are through it is worth it. We ordered a food delivery from Tesco, but the driver was unable to get up the road as it was too narrow for the van, we met the driver at the bottom of the hill and transferred the delivery to our car. Lamorna is a good location, close to Mousehole and Penzance. There is a lovely walk down the bridal path to the village of Castallack. The Haven ticked all our boxes, we will be returning next year. Thank you.
Mrs Weldon
What a wonderful find!
The Haven is a relaxing paradise!
The views of the sea and surrounding are stunning from the patio and bedroom and the garden, with all its nooks and crannies, and edged by woodland were fun to explore.
A bridleway/pathway right outside your door too, to Castallack, Lamorna and even to Mousehole was a bonus.
The house was well equipped and very comfortable.
The double bed was especially sumptuous and cosy and hard to get out of.
The only concern was the long 'driveway'/bridleway up to The Haven.
Very uneven with potholes and gravel at the start and steep and twisty.
Just have to drive slowly and very carefully, and then it's ok.
Don't let this stop you going thou, soooo worth it, even in bad weather, you felt cosy and sheltered there, and when the sun shone, well, go and see for yourself!
We will return I hope. Thank you.
Mrs Barraclough
We had a lovely week in this spacious property in a very peaceful location. Lovely garden. Well equipped cottage. A little isolated if you want to park up the car for the week but a great base from which to explore the area if you don't mind a short drive.
The information states that the approach to the cottage is narrow and they are not joking! Parts of the lane feel more like a bridleway than a lane, and manoeuvring 2 cars into the car parking space is definitely not for the faint hearted. That said, if you only have one car, it will be much easier.
Mrs Waters
Delightful setting, tucked away along a private track. Beautiful views with a sunny seating area for evening dining. Lovely walks to Mousehole, for the brave along the cliff top or a gentle stroll inland.
Mrs Keeble
Far from the madding crowd you cannot beat this cottage for the location. Yes - it is a really windy and steep track going up to it but then you get the beautiful views. We have been coming here since it was first converted into a holiday cottage and although we have tried other cottages this one cannot be beaten for its tranquility and stunning gardens.
Mrs Prime
We had a lovely stay in this well presented and equipped cottage. The location is very quiet which was just what we wanted. The views from the cottage are just lovely.
Mrs Hyde
The haven is an exceptional comfortable home with beautiful and peaceful surroundings with stunning views at the top of a very steep hill. We had a compact car fully loaded with luggage, 3 adults and a large dog and we just about made it up. The potholes were larger than expected probably more suitable for a larger engine car. But this didn’t detract from having a fabulous stay, The house is well equipped and the owners have provided comprehensive information on the area, recommendations of restaurants and bars and have really put the effort into ensuring any stay at the haven is one that you will enjoy. The cream tea and initial supplies were a welcome surprise after a 5 and a half hour journey. Great location for touring around that part of Cornwall. Looking forward to returning in 2024.
Mrs Gethin
We loved the steep and wiggly lane, the beautiful garden, the setting, the view, the flowery footpath. It was all a lovely surprise especially when opening the door to such a welcoming and light- filled house, with cream tea laid ready as well. The sunny balcony area is a great asset.
Mrs. Jenkins
Lovely cottage, very comfy bed, everything there you need
Be aware the drive to the cottage from the road is very rough, so no sports cars.
Also they so no dogs in the bedrooms in the info pack when you get there which had we known before hand we would've booked as we had a very unhappy dog
Ms Jodko-Narkiewicz
If you are a walker (especially if you are not) there is an easy and lovely footpath directly from the end of the drive which goes to Castallack. From there you can walk down to The Wink, which is again open, we had v good lunch there. Easy access to Kemyell Nature reserve and note the standing stones on your walk up. Lovely to watch hare in the garden and some bird life. Walk down to the Pottery where you can get light, or more, in the way of refreshment.
Beautiful views ever changing, very peaceful, truly a haven.
M. Szavuy
The house is really a dream and fulfills all wishes. The beautiful view over the sea, the forest and the surrounding meadows brings the purest relaxation. The interior is nicely and discreetly decorated, you will find everything you need and you will feel at home from the first moment.
Although we personally didn't find it a negative, there are a few aspects that need to be considered: the road from the main road to the house is quite steep, narrow and bumpy, the garden is not fenced and the access to the house is somewhat difficult for people with restricted mobility due to rather uneven and high stone steps. But everything is listed in the description of the house, so it wasn't a surprise...
All in all, we had a wonderful vacation at The Haven and would not hesitate to recommend and book it again.
Mr Thomas
Neat, well laid out cottage with a common lounge / diner / kitchen and separate sleeping bathrooms in opposite sides of the cottage. Very snug and picturesque. Good views and a large garden.
Mrs Adams
The Haven is a lovely place to stay,
In a good location. Quiet and peaceful
has everything you need in a holiday home to enjoy yourself in Cornwall.
We will be returning to The Haven.
Miss Elliott
Had a fantastic stay at this beautiful cottage. It’s our second stay here and won’t be our last. Perfect for walking and visiting lovely coastlines. Half an hours drive to st ives. Beautiful coastal walk to Mousehole. Cottage is fully equipped and lovely scones on arrival. Thank you x
Mrs Dunn
The Haven is exactly that! A peaceful cottage in a secluded spot perfect for relaxing in. It was spotlessly clean and very comfortable, with everything that we needed in a home from home break. The cream tea on arrival was a lovely touch too.
Would not necessarily recommend for people with mobility issues due to sloping garden and 3 steep steps with no handrail to property.
We couldn’t find a visitors book to sign - but would have left a lovely message thanking the owners for our stay if there were one.

Mr Knight
Nice quiet location; the Haven is comfortable and a pleasure to stay in.
Mr Burgess
If you are thinking about staying at The Haven don't hesitate, book it today. Definitely a 10/10
Mr Hollin
Very secluded, peaceful location with great views and only a stone's throw from everything in West Cornwall. Excellent family holiday.
Mr Potter
Our third stay at this great house and garden in idyllic location. Ideal for active families close to stunning beaches at Pedn Vounder and Porthcurno. Not an issue for us, but vehicular access is from a long steep unmade and uneven track.
Mrs Wiggins
A cosy and compact cottage in a beautiful location with lovely gardens. However, the cleanliness of the property (particularly the kitchen) left a lot to be desired with some broken and missing equipment. The cottage could do with refreshing as it is rather tired and the kitchen equipment entirely replacing.
Mrs Daniels
Fantastically clean and comfortable cottage with excellent views, just like the details on website. Easy access to West Cornwall, very quiet and the only drawback is the steep narrow track from main road up to the cottage, although it does get easier and it wouldn’t put us off returning !
Mr Wormleighton
Fantastic property in a great location. Felt very isolated (though it is semi-detached you don’t notice) but easy access to all of the West Cornwall hotspots. Terrific for the dog with a great footpath for walks. The garden isn’t enclosed but is large and as it is at the end of a lane there is no traffic to worry about.
The setting is superb and the views (when the mist/low cloud lifted) we’re fantastic.
Mrs Stocks
Absolutely beautiful cottage. Spotlessly clean and comfortable. Wonderful views and a lovely big garden which our dog loved. We had a lovely week staying there. Only slight disadvantage is the narrow single track lane to the cottage but apart from that we couldn't fault it.
Mrs Wojtulewicz
A very pleasant cottage in a beautiful, quiet position up a rough single track (the ruts in the track are worse than last year so beware if you have a previous vehicle).
Yes, somewhere to escape from normality.
However, the cottage needs attention, especially the cleanliness.
Mrs Grayson
The Haven is a very comfortable and cosy cottage which was extremely clean. The garden is lovely, very peaceful and we spent some enjoyable evenings sat outside on the patio admiring the views with the sea in the distance. The cream tea awaiting us on our arrival was much appreciated and if we return to that part of Cornwall we would certainly not hesitate to stay there again.
Mrs Sivyer
Property absolutely beautiful, we very much enjoyed our stay and were very comfortable. All as per description except the wifi which will barely load a page. Impossible to speak to aspects holidays if you need help though so a very poor customer service experience unfortunately.
Mrs Chattaway
a lovely peaceful area, ideal for walking even in winter, the haven is really warm and cosy!
Mr Laing
Had the most wonderful stay here. Beautiful, peaceful location. Will definitely be returning. The cottage had all that was needed and more. Cream tea a lovely touch. Perfect place/location to truly relax. Garden amazing. PERFECT in every way!!!!
Mr Stafford
This place is magic. The property name the Haven is a perfect description. I would stay here again in a heart beat.
Mr Padbury
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in The Haven. It has excellent views across the countryside and is in a very peaceful location. The cottage was immaculately clean with a cream tea awaiting us as a welcome gift. Highly recommended. The only caveat is that owners of cars with limited ground clearance should be aware that the access track to the property is in poor condition and quite uneven in places.
Mrs Wojtulewicz
My review would be the same as the one I wrote in May 2019.
Miss McGrath
We had a wonderful stay at The Haven. The cottage was clean and welcoming with milk and scones on arrival, a lovely touch. The large garden is beautifully kept, with an array of flowers to admire. Our dog loved running and playing in it.
Mrs Keeble
Beautiful cottage and stunning gardens and outlook. Can’t be beaten for peace and quiet and quality. The Haven is heaven on earth!
Mrs Wojtulewicz
A light & airy cottage in a spectacular position sitting in a hillside garden surrounded by beautiful countryside. The cottage was very clean & comfortable with large bedrooms. We felt we had escaped reality, especially being able to walk along tracks & footpaths directly from the cottage through fields full of wild flowers.
Mrs Platts
A beautiful stay once again. Complete luxury with stunning views; we would be happy living here. A must for a relaxing, peaceful stay. The lovely cream tea was such a lovely touch. Thank you again for a perfect stay.
Mrs Platts
This cottage has to be the nicest one we’ve ever stayed in. The sea and country views were beyond beautiful. We were very reluctant to leave as we had such a lovely time here and can’t wait to visit again. The owners left us a cream tea and milk which was so lovely and very tasty. Every detail had been thought of. A perfect, relaxing break.
Mr Welchman
Any of the positive comments already made.
Good access to lots of lovely places eg Minack theatre, Sennen Cove, and further afield - Porthleven, St Ives, Lizard peninsular.
Miss Epstein
The Haven was the perfect base for our Cornish getaway. We loved the view and the cosy gas burner (and so did our dog!). The location of the cottage is perfect, it had a lovely remote feel whilst being close to amenities and lots of places to explore. The owners have really thought of everything, and we were even greeted with a cream tea and bottle of wine which was a lovely touch.
Mr Doherty
Unfortunately not applicable since the owners we understand are selling up very soon.
Mr Brazendale
Super Cottage, fantastic location.
Ms Ledger
Lovely cottage, beautiful location,
Mr Spiegel
A very comfortable house with a lots of charm in a beautiful Setting. We spent a wonderful time there.
Mrs Neal
A fantastic cottage in a lovely tranquil setting. If we ever moved to Cornwall The Haven would definitely fit the bill of the type of house we would like to buy.
Mr Dow
the haven is just as advertised.
a beautiful cottage in a peaceful location with excellent secluded large garden.
the cottage has everything inside you could need and is very comfortable.
the havens location also means it is central to lands end, Penzance, St Ives & Marazion and there are many
paths from the cottage to explore
We will definitely be back in the future
Ms Scobie
Ideal. We are reluctant to leave.
Ms Maskell
The welcome pack was kind and appreciated. We totally enjoyed our stay in this delightful house. A lot of thought by the owners had put in to provide a relaxing and comfortable holiday. Thank you
Mr Bigger
A spacious, comfortable and quiet get-away in idyllic rural surroundings and gorgeous views of the coast, and with wifi and mobile phone reception, which can be rare around Lamorna. This is second visit and we hope to return
Mrs Beare
The Haven, Lamorna is beautiful, peaceful & well- equipped- was accurately described on the website. Amazing sights nearby & the Bridleway system around
here are really interesting.
Mrs Jones
Had a fabulous week. The weather was excellent. But even if it had not been the cottage was an excellent place to relax and just take in the view and de-stress. Would definitely recommend this as a wonderful holiday place for complete relaxation and re charging your batteries. It is also easy to get to places on both North and South Coasts of Cornwall. Really want to come back soon to resume our adventure in Cornwall.
Ms Holder
Please note this cottage is lovely but it is semi detached.
