The Coast
For those in search of a magical escape with the beautiful shoreline right on your doorstep, look no further than The Coast. A welcoming and stylish getaway sleeping four. The Coast truly is a wonderful choice for a family-friendly and dog-friendly holiday by the sea in the glorious South Hams.
Step inside to discover your very special holiday destination. The cosy kitchen is a great place to rustle up delicious meals and prepare your morning coffee (best enjoyed in the sunshine as you gaze out to sea), with a lovely dining-room for sociable mealtimes. From there, make your way to the sitting-room - and you're in for quite a treat! There's a squishy sofa and comfortable armchairs ideal for relaxing, along with a gorgeous wood-burner for those cosy evenings in - and we can't forget to mention the captivating sea views. You're sure to while away an hour or two simply taking them in!
Both bedrooms have en suite bathrooms. Bedroom one is a stylish room with a super-king 'zip and link' bed, that can also be made up as twins, and breathtaking coastal views. The en suite bathroom also offers those views - so you can enjoy a long soak in the bathtub whilst you relax. Bedroom two is a cute twin room, also with an en suite bathroom. You're sure to enjoy a restful night's sleep here, being lulled to sleep by the soothing sounds of the sea.
Outside, outdoor dining comes with front row seats to the golden sandy beach. Fire up the barbecue and enjoy suppers under the warmth of the evening sun. And if you don't fancy cooking, there is a fabulous pub, a fish and chip shop and a beautiful cafe, all just a short stroll away. Perfect!
Locations don't get much better than this, with direct access onto the beach. Wake up in the morning and stroll onto the sand for a dip in the sea, play beach games in the afternoons or simply unwind with a good book under the sunshine.

Mr Atkins
This is a perfect location to enjoy the sea and ease of access to South Devonshire's beauty spots. Watching the sunrise was amazing and seeing the daily visits of a seal to the beach and a distant view of a pod of dolphins was truly special
Ms Reynolds
Comfy, clean property in a prime location with stunning views. We always have a wonderful, relaxing time when staying at The Coast. If I had to give constructive feedback, I would say it's a little 'rustic' in places and we had a few maintenance issues this time although they were quickly put right. As a seafront property, this included the barrel lock on the front door jamming and not allowing us to lock the front door from the inside. We had to use to use the back door for a couple of days until fixed, which was fine for us but may not be great for anyone with mobility issues as there are steps to the back door. Just writing here in case anyone else has the same problem - it apparently happens sometimes due to the sea air.

We rented cottage The Coast 5035, Torcross, Kingsbridge, TQ7 2TQ.
from Classic Cottages for the period from 14 June 2025 to 21 June 2025 for seven days.
Unfortunately, due to unacceptable living conditions, we were forced to cut our vacation short and leave the cottage on the fourth day.
The primary issue was a massive infestation of ants in the kitchen and dining area, which made staying in the cottage impossible. Despite our efforts to remove all food from the kitchen, the tables and surfaces were still overrun with ants, creating unsanitary conditions.
Additionally, the cottage lacked basic amenities advertised:
• The kitchen did not have basic items such as salt and pepper.
• The dishwasher was with a flashing signal requiring dishwasher salt.
• The bathroom lacked even liquid soap.
• The window frame in the bathroom would not close properly, causing further inconvenience.
We reported the issue with the ants and asked for the 3 days refund of our unfulfilled stay at The Coast 5035. But unfortunately, Classic Cottages refuse to refund those 3 days.
This level of service and attitude toward customers is unacceptable.
Mr Henderson
Brilliant holiday, loved the location and the great weather really made our stay special.
Mrs Tricker
Fabulous stay at The Coast, comfortable and cosy interior. Loved waking up to the sound of the sea and the sunrises were amazing. Great location.
Mrs Slough
Lovely property overlooking the sea. Well equipped and the fresh flowers were a nice touch. Toiletries not included (shown in the pictures of the bathrooms) but the kitchen had everything needed. Parked the car in the garage and didn’t use. Bus service to Dartmouth and Kingsbridge hourly. Local cafe and pub very good. Lots of walking.
Mr Rutherford
Absolutely loved our stay here. Beautiful decoration throughout and very comfortable. Very important to us is that the beds and bed linen were top notch. The location to the beach was just fantastic with the dog.
Mr Harris
Would 100% recommend “the coast”. Location is amazing with views out to sea and you are right on the beach
Ms Sisterson
Beautiful location and stunning views. We love spending time at this comfortable cottage. Garage parking is a distance from the cottage so you do need to be able to carry luggage from garage to property.
Mr Abdy
A very good cottage for a small family or 2 couples. Local bus service very handy and fairly regular.
Mrs Trower
Not recommended for the older generation.
Mrs Dale
A very pleasant beachside house. Comfy, cosy and well equipped. We enjoyed our stay very much.
Mr Dargan
Nice clean, well equipped & comfortable cottage in a great location. Loved the tea tray & daffodils on arrival. Nice touch! Will most likely visit again!
Mrs Rice
If you want a cottage with sea view this is hard to beat. We woke to beautiful sunrises, had lovely walks on the beach and spent cosy evenings in front of the log burner. The house was beautifully clean and very well furnished. Having a garage was a great bonus as there's no other parking. It's a little walk to the house but no problem if you're fit and don't mind carrying your luggage a little way.
Dr Yewe-Dyer
Bright, welcoming 'home from home', we had a lovely restful holiday just looking at the sea! The house is warm and comfortable, better equipped than most and decorated to a high standard. The proximity to the Start Bay Inn with its lovely, friendly staff was a real bonus, and there is a fab walk to Slapton when you want to stretch your legs- plus lunch at The Queen's.
Mrs Bird
Fabulous house in an amazing location. We loved going to sleep listening to the waves & the lightening over the sea was brilliant.
We wanted a chilled holiday & the house provided that perfectly.
Ms Sisterson
Comfortable, spacious property in a beautiful location right by the sea. Spacious garage too with automatic door which although not right next to the property, was easy to access. We will definitely rebook
Mrs Blake-Mills
The house was lovely, very comfortable, fully equipped with everything my friend and I needed. Gorgeous sea views with some amazing sunrises. Great Pub and takeaway 2 minutes away. Also a brilliant farm shop near by with gifts and a lovely cafe. Handy to have a bus stop at the back to take you in to Dartmouth for a day out.
Mrs Bartlett
We had a lovely week at The Coast and would recommend a stay here if you like easy access to the beach and a quiet, pretty location. Most of the rooms are spacious and the cottage is well-equipped. Our dog thoroughly enjoyed that he could have such easy access to the beach, which is dog-friendly all year round.
The garage is some distance from the property which is an issue with unloading but we felt it was worth it for those wonderful sea views.
Mr White
Great area
Nice property
Views brilliant
Peaceful
No charging for electric car only issue.
Mrs Allen
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Very clean and well decorated for Christmas. We look forward to visiting again in the future.
Mrs Cox
We had a fabulous stay at The Coast, there is nothing better than listening to the sea at night and watching the sun rise over the sea in the morning. The Coast was spotlessly clean and had all the amenities needed for a great stay. The double (possibly triple) garage was a bonus. Just one point to note the electronic garage key fob stopped working on check out day, possibly the battery ran out, Classic contacted the owner and they came back straight away to confirm there is a manual garage key on the house keys, so all sorted without any hassle. Hopefully we will be returning next year, thank you!
Mr Kirk
Lovely location and spacious accommodation, could do with further equipment more glasses, plates, bowls etc. A pack of cards or scrabble for a rainy day would make a welcome addition.
Mr Northfield
A lovely property so very close to the sea you could hear the waves.
Very convenient spot for pubs and cafe. Bus stop out the back took us to Kingsbridge, Blackpool sands, Salcombe and Dartmouth. Did lots of walking and didn't have to use the car at all.
Garage was included for the car.
Mrs Beach
The Coast is in a stunning location with views to die for. Sadly Classic Cottages and the property owner felt it wasn’t important to present the house in a clean/tidy condition. Baked on birds mess on paths, patios and all over side gate making it a health hazard to use. Weeds knee high growing on the front patio spoiling eating/drinking outside. Exceptionally poor customer service when we raised a much justified complaint. Would not recommend to prospective customers. A shame as the property location was pretty perfect for beach lovers.
Mr Chapman
Amazing location. Well resourced. Clean & comfortable with lots of room. Lots to do within reasonable distances. Some nice walks. Felt like a 'home from home'. Would definitely come back.
