Wickings
Managed by Classic Cottages
Offering oodles of space both inside and out, Wickings is the kind of place where you can truly switch off, settle in and let holiday life unfold, and your four-legged friend can join you on the adventure too.
Step inside where calm and warm welcoming interiors are set to greet you. Light pours into the main living space, where long lazy mornings and cosy wood-burner evenings come as standard. Open the sliding doors to let the sea air and birdsong drift in, or wander through to the homely kitchen and cook up simple suppers to enjoy al fresco style at the end of a perfect day.
Families and groups will love the extra space downstairs, where a second sitting-room and direct garden access create a perfect little retreat for children after a day of island exploring (please note, the garden wraps around the property and is not enclosed). The ground floor bathroom is a welcome bonus too, especially for rinsing off sandy toes after a day at the beach.
On the first floor you will find three lovely, inviting double bedrooms, all designed with both your comfort and relaxation in mind ensuring you a peaceful night's sleep. The first bedroom is wonderfully spacious with large sliding doors leading out onto the balcony, the perfect spot to sit with a morning cuppa, breathe in the fresh air, and enjoy glimpses of the sea through the trees - this bedroom also benefits from an en suite shower-room.
The second and third bedrooms are both modern, cosy and overlook the garden. You will also find a well-appointed family bathroom on this floor.
Outside the property boasts a charming, staggered garden, designed for relaxation and enjoyment. A lovely, sheltered patio area (accessed via the kitchen and dining-room) with comfortable seating and a raised pond with its gentle sound of flowing water is the perfect spot for al fresco dining or a quiet drink, while the pretty lawned area offers space to unwind and enjoy the island sunshine. Higher up you will find a raised patio with additional seating, a stunning hot tub (available to use from the end of March to the end of September) and glimpses of the sea, an ideal place to relax under the stars following a day exploring the island. Please note the garden path is a little steep and uneven in places so please take care and make use of the handrail provided.

Mr Bailey
We had an absolutely wonderful stay and would have no hesitation in recommending this property. From the moment we arrived, it was clear that an extraordinary amount of thought, care and attention to detail has gone into creating what is a truly exceptional holiday home.
The cleanliness was impeccable throughout, and the property was beautifully maintained from top to bottom. It was also quite possibly the best-equipped holiday home we have ever stayed in. Nothing seemed to have been overlooked — from the practical essentials such as umbrellas, through to bikes and paddleboards for those wanting to explore and enjoy the area. There is even an impressive selection of books and games, making the house just as enjoyable on a rainy afternoon. In fact, if you have forgotten something at home, there is a very good chance that it will already be provided here!
The gardens were simply beautiful and clearly receive the same level of care and attention as the house itself. Everything was immaculate, and we were particularly struck by the sense of space and quality throughout the property. It manages to achieve something quite difficult: it feels luxurious and sophisticated, while at the same time being incredibly comfortable, welcoming and homely. You genuinely feel as though you are staying in someone's beautifully cared-for home rather than simply renting a holiday property.
The attention to detail is exceptional, and it is obvious that the owners have thought carefully about what guests might need and want during their stay. Even on the day of departure, the cleaning and gardening teams were already preparing to ensure everything was brought back to the same impeccable standard for the next guests.
The location is equally special. Situated on a wonderfully quiet and peaceful road, the property is surrounded by beautiful scenery and feels wonderfully private and tranquil. Ventnor really does seem to have its own little microclimate, and even when the weather was less favourable elsewhere, it seemed noticeably warmer and more inviting here. The location is idyllic and provides the perfect base from which to enjoy the island.
The only practical point worth mentioning is that Ventnor itself has limited supermarket choice, with the local shops mainly catering for everyday essentials. There are, however, plenty of larger supermarkets elsewhere on the island, so we would recommend doing a little shopping before arriving if you intend to stay for a while or cook regularly.
Overall, this was a truly memorable stay. The house is luxurious, spacious, exceptionally clean and beautifully maintained, but above all, it is somewhere that feels genuinely special. It was a pleasure to return to every day, and the level of care that has gone into creating such a welcoming and well-equipped home really does set it apart. We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday and would absolutely love to return.
Mrs Mills
We had a wonderful stay here last week and loved Isle of Wight. There is just so much to do! The house was clean, homely and comfortable. The house keeper was really responsive and the one issue we had was sorted asap, which we really appreciated. We loved the hot tub and games room in the garage and we loved having a bbq too. Absolutely perfect place for us to stay, so much so that we have booked again already for next summer!
Mrs Reston
We had a lovely stay at this beautiful house on the Isle of Wight. It’s situated in a peaceful, upmarket area of the island and immediately felt like a home away from home. The house was comfortable, spacious and had everything we needed for a relaxing break.
The hot tub was a real bonus and something we thoroughly enjoyed. We also loved the running water over the pond, which created such a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere in the garden.
The Isle of Wight itself is a fantastic place to visit, with so much to explore, and this house made the perfect base for our stay. We really didn’t want to leave and would happily return.
Thank you for a wonderful stay — we’ll very likely be back next year!
