Reviews
As you approach the hamlet of Simonstone and look up to the hill on your right you will see Low Shaw Farmhouse nestled on the hillside, surrounded by sheep enclosed by the wonderful Yorkshire dry stone walls. The front of this stunning, spacious Dales farmhouse overlooks the scattering of houses and down through Wensleydale towards Hawes, a great location for exploring the Yorkshire Dales.

Step through the wooden door into the boot-room, where there is plenty of space to leave your muddy boots, and onwards into the traditional farmhouse kitchen, complete with its many original features, and of course all mod-cons. Whip up a feast of tasty Yorkshire fayre to share with family and friends and while away the time making plans for the next day's adventure.

From there you have a choice of places to sit. To the left, is the hallway with its wonderful window seat where you can curl up and watch the wildlife, maybe spot a deer or a fox and definitely see the sheep. You then follow on into the sitting-room and cosy up on the leather sofas in front of the wood-burner and catch up on your favourite TV programmes, or just watch the flickering flames and reflect on how beautiful the Dales are.

The second sitting-room is off the kitchen and without a TV it is the perfect place to settle into the comfortable sofa and get lost in a good book, or if work can't wait, catch up on emails at the large antique desk and gaze over the countryside. Here you will also find the many games that the owners have thoughtfully left for your enjoyment.

When it's time to retire for the evening, choose one of the two staircases, each of which leads up to its own set of two bedrooms and a family bathroom. The country-style bedrooms all have spectacular views over the Yorkshire countryside.

Not forgetting that outside at the front, where you can enjoy a coffee in the pretty south-facing garden and maybe fall asleep while counting the sheep.

We really enjoyed our stay at Low Shaw Farmhouse. A fantastic location with walks from the door. The house is well equipped, spacious and comfortable. Thank you. We will be back.

Mr Anderson

Such beautiful surroundings . The house was stunning , and perfect for what we needed.

During the days we spent the time exploring surrounding areas , and hiking up to the high peaks .
Evenings we spent playing board games round the lovely big table , and nights we were outside looking and listening for the wildlife . I would highly recommend Low Shaw Farmhouse.

Mrs Mitchell

Brilliant holiday letting company.
Lots of communication at various points of time during the booking and whilst away, which was most helpful.

The farmhouse stands beautifully overlooking Hawes. If like us you are travelling with elderly parents there is a separate lounge (for quiet reading) and stairs leading to a double bedroom, twin bedroom and a bathroom. So all nice and peaceful for them once upstairs everything is on one level.
In the centre of the house is a large farmhouse kitchen with a big walk in pantry/ utility room. There is also a good size porch with seating to put your shoes under, to sit on to put shoes on and hooks for coats etc etc and a great stable door.
The other side of the kitchen is a hall leading off to another large lounge with tv. Also off the hall is another staircase, half way up dog leg stairs is a big bathroom and further up the stairs a quad room and another big double bedroom.
Lovely country garden with cottage garden style planting. Medium fencing with a gate to keep your dogs safely inside.

Mrs Gleeson

Great location with fabulous views and very quiet. Easy walk to nearby pub.
The cottage does sleep 10 but it could feel overcrowded with so many. The table also only seats 6.
