A luxurious king-size bedroom and en suite can also be found on the first floor and are simply stunning. For the seventh member of the group, neatly tucked above the TV area is a mezzanine level, perfect for hiding away in for a good night's sleep. Please be aware this area has restricted headroom and is accessed via a ladder.
Two further en suite bedrooms can be found on the ground floor and are accessed off the welcoming entrance hall. A king-size double room plus a second bedroom offering a super-king 'zip and link' bed which enables the room to be configured as a twin room, ensuring flexible sleeping arrangements.

If you can drag yourself away from this perfect setting, your location is equally as special as the house itself. Branscombe is in the east Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (now known as Natural Landscapes) and has fabulous walks straight from your doorstep. Try the National Trust's walking trail that takes you around this historic village, or a 15 minute walk to the beach.
The village has the added bonus of two excellent pubs, one at either end of the village, including the award-winning Masons Arms. The nearby shingle beach has a private car park, an exercise-area that welcomes dogs and the Sea Shanty Beach Cafe serving delicious seafood.
Within the grounds of Trafalgar Barton there are three cottages at your disposal. Why not book all three and make this year's holiday one to remember. Good or bad, we publish all the reviews left by the guests who have stayed at this property.
Mrs Langley
Excellent property. Very well equipped, clean and comfortable. Location was great for the beach and pub close by and for travelling to other parts of Devon. We especially enjoyed the donkey sanctuary and The Pig restaurant and Masons Arms were a really treat! We really enjoyed our stay!
Mrs Clarke
I would thoroughly recommend this holiday accommodation. It’s beautiful and in a gorgeous location.
Mrs Tyler
Beautiful property well equipped kitchen, clean. Unfortunately every bed had a terrible mattress, you could hear the springs as well as feel them! We did make classic cottages aware and they were great and got some mattress toppers for us, but that didnt solve the issue, mattresses were too broken/old or cheap? This meant we were tired most of the holiday, and didnt do as much as we would have if we'd had decent sleep. My parents went home two nights early and my husband, son and I left one night early. Really disappointed, such a lovely place otherwise.
Mr Krause
We really enjoyed our stay at the Coach house. Extremely well equipped and comfortable house with en suite bathrooms. Very close to Branscombe and the beach with wonderful landscape and hiking opportunities. We will for sure come back ;0)
Mrs Morecroft
Lovely week in Branscombe, this is a tiny village without a shop but does have a great pub (Masons Arms). Beach was relaxing and beach cafe very good. Driving in and out of the village is on typical narrow Devon roads so make sure you are happy to cope with those. House is beautifully designed (stylish bathrooms), kitchen well equipped and in a peaceful location with lovely views. Being dog friendly I would advise to be prepared: the house cleanliness will depend on the dogs that have been in previously. Massive tv in living space and light and airy living space. Mattresses and armchairs need reinvestment to keep to same standard as the rest of the property.
Mrs Davies
Very comfortable well-equipped house in lovely location. The lanes are very narrow and a bit challenging driving down to the property but that is typical of the area.
Thoroughly enjoyed our holiday. Thankyou
Mrs Claessens
We had a great time! The coach house was just as expected, a beautiful place! Very well cleaned and everthing was available, vacuüm cleaner, hair blower, iron and so on. Very nice walk to the beach and beautiful surroundings! Sidmouth and Beer were nice places to visit. I will recommend this place to people who love the quietness, nature and the sea. Just relax and enjoy !
Miss Morris
Gorgeous property, well equipped and very clean. The large enclosed garden was perfect for our dog to run around in. Even though there are two other properties next to you, it does feel very private once in the house.
The roads to get to Branscombe are very narrow, but there are plenty of passing places so we didn’t find it a problem.
Approx. 20 minute walk to the beach on a lovely National Trust path through the countryside. Would recommend breakfast at the Sea Shanty cafe on the beach. The food at the Masons Arms is lovely, would recommend booking in advance. The Fountain Head is a bit of a further walk away. We had a lovely lunch and it was very friendly.
Overall we had a fabulous stay at the Coach House.
Mrs Mellor
A fabulous property and extremely well furnished. The location was perfect for us - 4 adults, 2 children (3 generations) and a dog so lots of superb walks to the beach and surrounding countryside. The views are fantastic. The roads are extremely narrow but with beautiful wildflower hedging and is so typical of Devon There is a NT footpath which you can take to the beach which is 10/15 mins walk. Branscombe is a quaint village. There is a little bakehouse, a forge (all NT owned and managed). A couple of pubs, The Mason's Arms does lovely meals. Always busy so you need to book in advance for meals. Dog friendly too. A larger cafe 'The Sea Shanty' is situated on the beach where there is a extensive menu. The Coach House is extremely private and quiet, despite there being 2 other properties in the Estate. The rear garden is fenced and kept tidied by a weekly gardener.
The kitchen is fitted to a very high standard with absolutely everything provided. Stylish furniture, fixtures and fittings. Good quality bedding and towels in the bedrooms and bathrooms.
We had a fabulous family holiday and would love to return!
Mrs Knight
A really lovely comfortable high standard property in a fantastic quiet location. The house has a nice private garden and is well equipped . We enjoyed a lovely 3 generation seaside holiday here with easy access to lovely walks, the beach, a pub and nearby villages and towns. The small village playground and tennis court almost opposite was an added bonus. We hope to return.
Mr Randall
The Coach House was fabulous. Beautifully decorated and furnished throughout. The en-suites especially were excellent. Although the temperature outside was sub zero overnight, the temperature inside was very comfortable at all times. The kitchen was very well equipped with everything we could ever need. All indoor entertainment was catered for with games, jigsaws, books, fast WiFi and a fantastic TV. We loved the big open living space making it a perfect place for a family get together. The property inside was spotlessly clean and the grounds kept very tidy. Can't wait for our next big birthday!
Mrs Kelday
We were booking for unusual dates as it was across 2 booking weeks. It was easily accommodated and sorted within 24 hrs
Mrs Saving
Lovely wet well equipped cottage, great location but very low quality bed mattresses.
Mrs Treble
Charming, well presented, comfortable cottage in great location. Gardens area fenced, south facing, very private feel, despite other two holiday houses nearby. Kitchen excellent, full equipment and large bbq. You could hear a pin drop at night. Steep walk down from house to village hall then flat National Trust stoned path to beach, for us 25 mins total. Lanes around Branscombe very narrow for driving. . Large supermarkets Seaton or Sidmouth for stockng up 25 min drive. Recommend Le Pisani restaurant in Seaton for Mediterranean pizza/pasta with great gluten free options.
Mr Webb
An excellent well presented, and fabulous property in a superb setting. The local pub and village are great, and the beach is a nice walk via the footpath.
Plenty to see amd do nearby too. We had a great holiday
Mrs Balmer
The Coach House is beautifully finished and equipped. The location is really good with a lovely walk to the beach.
Mr & Mrs Taylor
The vast majority of people would find the Coach House stunning, but getting there was nothing short of a nightmare for townies in their mid-eighties. Hence the reason why once we had arrived, we based ourselves at the Coach House.
