Customer reviews

Good or bad, we publish all the reviews left by the guests who have stayed at this property.

Mrs Leahy

Fabulous views and amazing location. We saw dolphins from the breakfast table!

Mrs Milward

Superb location very close to The Island carpark and Porthgwidden beach. Generally very comfortable and well equipped.
Sadly we were disappointed with the bathing facilities in this otherwise lovely holiday home.

Mr Painter

We would stop at White Cove again… amazing location, a few small concerns were addressed quickly and professionally.
The staff at Aspects Holidays in St Ives office cannot be recommended enough, nothing was too much trouble and we were always greeted professionally and with a welcoming smile.

Dr Hughes

Wonderful location, beautiful view and could not be more convenient for the beach!

Mr Dear

A great location with immediate access to the beach, dog walking on the Island and car park (if you can get a space). Beautiful view over St.Ives bay. We have now stayed at this property twice and would do so again.
Only negative comment (not in the control of the property) is early morning noise with refuse collection from the nearby Porthgwidden cafe for those in the front bedroom… but don’t let that put you off (consider it a warning for teenagers who like to have a lie in!)

Mr Cousins

This was a great holiday, great views, reasonably peaceful bar bin collection for the front bedroom, really close to the beach and the owners clearly look after the property, it had a leak or two but not enough to even touch how good our time was, great tv and Internet during chill time, and the bedrooms being downstairs are nice and cool for a nights sleep, take your own pillows if you aren't a fan of there's, but that's a minor complaint, thank you and sure we will be back

Mrs Baggs

This was our third stay at White Cove as we absolutely love it ! The location is perfect the views are to die for and its very bright airy and comfortable .Love that it has a bath as well as a separate shower ! We will definitely be returning .And if you havent had the pleasure of staying there ..you must ! Thank you Aspects for another beautiful property and for an amazing stay .See you again very soon.

Mr Gibson

I do not wish to review. Thank you.

Mrs Woods

White Cove a magical find.Lovely sea view.2 mins from beach.Comfy bed . Loads of space but I think it sleeps six and this stay only the two of us.Best place we’ve stayed at in St Ives.

Miss Ware

We really enjoyed our stay at White Cove, in August 2024. It is in a lovely location, especially handy if you like Porthgwidden, Porthmeor and/ or Bamaluz beaches, but walkable distance to any of the main beaches. Very close to the Island too.

The apartment felt really bright, fresh and warm, with a well thought-out layout. My daughter loved the mezzanine area! It is up a ladder as detailed in the description, so not ideal for everyone, but perfect for an 11 year old to have her own space. The ensuite shower was fine for us (under 5’8”). The upstairs bath also has a handheld shower so works just fine. We appreciated having a bathroom on both levels.

The apartment felt clean and I like that in the main it has wooden floors - great when pets are around because it stops any pet smells from lingering. I think it would be good if they could extend the wooden floors into the bedrooms. It was adequately furnished and comfortable. Yes the sofa arm covers do keep coming off as mentioned in previous comments, so to me they just need sticking down with double-sided carpet tape. (A simple fix could stop the damaged underneath being seen and complained about!)

I really liked sitting on the front bench with a coffee on a morning.

If I were to have any comments, it would be to tidy up the small outside space at the back. There is a really handy outside tap for rinsing off sand, but the flooring is a real mess and so you end up treading in as much as you wash off! Also there is a really tatty chair and old mop sat in filthy water that you would never dare use. To me, this small area could be easily cleared, then paved or tiled, to make it more functional. However, you obviously don’t have to use it.

As per the description, it is noisy with the bin men at 6am (I mean how do they manage to make that much noise!) but a price worth paying for the location and sea views. I would argue that I would prefer the bin men come and make the place gorgeous than it be over-flowing with litter as it is before they arrive.

Over all a lovely apartment in a great location that I recommend for those who don’t mind steps or noisy wake up calls!

Mrs Peralta

As always we had a great week, the house is perfectly positioned for the town and all of the beaches, and the view from the lounge is beautiful. Being able to park outside to unpack our luggage was really helpful before parking at the rugby club for the week. We’ll definitely return.

Mrs Ward

White Cove is in a fantastic location and it is a beautiful property. Perfect for a couple or small family. Unfortunately it was let down by worn and uncomfortable soft furnishings. The sofas are not as pictured. The arms and other parts are very worn and visible due to arm covers and throws used to hide this continually slipping off. It wasn't the same standard of furnishing we've had in other Aspects properties we've stayed in which was a shame is the location is brilliant and the general appearance of the property is lovely.

Mrs Osborne

This is a lovely property - space has been well thought out with the added extra sofa on the mezzanine level. We took the binoculars with us and we saw dolphins from the living room or the mezzanine window most days. The location is perfect, being right next to the Island and Porthgwidden beach. The dog bed/bowls and the Christmas decorations were a great addition.

Mrs HIGGS

This was our 2nd stay at white cove. We love the location and the view. The flat had everything we need. Magnificent!

Mrs Everest

White Cove is the perfect destination. What's not to like about gazing out of the window to the sea or walking around The Island? We have visited White Cover many times and love love love it!

Mr Dawson

The location was superb, and whilst some of the reviews mentioned it could be a noisy location, we found that this was not the case (and we visited in mid-August in excellent weather - when you might expect it to be the noisiest time of year).

The property is really light, has great views, is very comfortable and well equipped - we would definitely book this again. Also the WiFi was excellent which is not always the case in St Ives properties.

Mrs Peralta

We had a lovely time at White Cove, it was great being so near to the beach, and being able to sit in the lounge and look out to sea was amazing.

Dr Hughes

Beautiful location, lovely sea view.

Ms Samuels-Mercer

Lovely location, property is getting a little tired but the view wins every time.

Mrs Dutton

We enjoyed our stay at White Cove and would recommend to others .It was located on entrance to dog friendly porthgwiddian beach and an easy stroll to other beaches and the harbour . White cove provided all facilities we needed. Overall alittle more attention to cleanliness would make this property superb . We parked in the Island car park. We only left the space one afternoon to visit other places and managed to get a space after 6 pm . Most times we observed there were no free spaces .

Mrs Darbyshire

Possibly having a reserved car parking space somewhere would make the property 10/10

Mr Gibson

Sorry, I’m not giving an appraisal. It is unfair to the owners as the points mentioned are targets for improvement but did not spoil our holiday. The sofas would have to be mentioned as they are so uncomfortable. We hope to go back and will use pillows from the spare beds to make the seats more comfortable.

Mrs Elrick

White cove is a gem , such a light warm property in a great location . Having stayed in lots of properties in St Ives this is by far the best . The views , the sunrises and sunsets not to mention the seals and dolphins . Take your binoculars they are a must . New carpets downstairs where lovely some of the bedroom furniture could be replaced but only to make it all as good as upstairs. We will be back .

Mr Turton

We stayed Christmas and New Year at White Cove. The location is ideal just a quick 20 or 30 steps to the beach which was great with our dog. The property itself was looking tired in places with the bedroom carpets having seen better days coupled with handles missing from furniture which let the place down.
Kitchen was fully equipped and allowed us to cook a full Christmas dinner with all the trimmings without any difficulties. However, the freezer was frosted up and desperately needed a defrost to be able to use it.
The views from the living room are fantastic and allowed us to watch boats and dolphins in the bay.
Note to point out that the walls on either side of the property are really thin and conversations can be heard easily from both sides.

Mrs Pollock

Great location and lovely views but limited kitchen equipment.

Mrs. Newman

Our first time at White Cove and we had the best time, lovely view and perfect location for all beaches would definitely recommend and can’t wait to stay again

Mrs Everest

To spend a week at White Cove is like wearing a pair of cosy slippers and being enveloped in a warmth we will remember forever, especially;y as it was our golden wedding anniversary while there.
The house and the view are perfect in any kind of weather although this year the sun shone most days and the week sped by far too quickly. We look forward to 2023 and out next visit to this wonderful property.

Mrs Meek

White coat was everything we expected a more, Beautiful surroundings and a wonderful stay would highly recommend.

Dr Hughes

Wonderful location so close to the beach.

Ms Mercer Samuels

We loved our wk. at white cove, found a few minor niggles but nothing to put us off our holiday, we have mentioned to aspects and I’m sure they will be resolved. Either way, we would definitely book this property again.

As others have mentioned the en-suite shower is very small I fit in at 5ft 3 but my partner couldn’t use it, there is a bath with shower head upstairs so he used that and prefers baths anyway so wasn’t a problem.

If you are looking for a quiet location this property wouldn’t be for you, it’s close proximity to the cafe and beach mean it’s quite noisy with daily deliveries, bins being emptied and people using the public toilets across the way. We were not bothered by it and enjoyed listening to the live bands playing at the weddings over at porthgwidden cafe.
Didn’t want to leave, hoping to see you next year White Cove.

Mrs Ferguson

Lovely property in a handy location for those that love the beach x

Mrs Shires

Great location and wonderful views

Mrs Roberts

We visit St Ives most years and always book through Aspects as always happy with their properties. White Cove was one of the more modern properties we have stayed in, very comfortable and in an excellent location. Stairs may be an issue for people with young children, elderly or older dogs as living area is upstairs to make the most of the wonderful sea views. Not a problem for us though, we loved our stay and will be rebooking this property if dates are available.

Mrs Shipley

Fantastic location for anytime of day walks with your dog, on all of the beaches at St Ives.

Mr Williams

We stayed March 2022. We loved White Cove, perfect location, stunning views and very well equipped. Would definitely recommend and will be booking again.

Mrs Dunne

Great week at this place before Christmas, the house had Christmas decorations up which was lovely. Nice warm and cosy place when returning after a windy walk on the beach. Enjoyed watching surfers from lounge window, even managed to spot a seal (I did have binoculars) Close to beaches, car park and a nice stroll to harbour and shops. We will definitely be returning. Loved it!!

Miss Dunn

The location of this property is excellent! The views from the living room and snug are great too. Compact but has everything that you should need.

Mrs Lawson

We had a lovely week in St Ives at White Cove.

The location is second to none, literally on Porthgwidden beach and only moments from the town. The view from the living room was beautiful.

The area is fairly noisy until about 9pm but quiet between 9pm(ish) and the morning.

We took our 2.5 year old with us and did feel a bit nervous about the ladder to the mezzanine and the stairs so would recommend a stairgate if travelling with under 4s.

Mrs O`Brien

Enjoyable holiday in a beautiful location with fantastic breath taking views from the property. Would come back an stay again. A step away to the beach, a few minutes walk away to shops and restaurant’s- everything you need was on your door step.

Miss Otter

Great properly overall, stunning view and location was footsteps from Porthgwidden beach. Very well equipped, the only thing which I didn’t enjoy so much was the memory foam double bed as it seemed to make you so hot and was very soft but it depends what you like I guess. Overall a wonderful place to stay, would stay again.

Mr Drury

White Cove is a large well decorated home very close to The Island Carpark and multiple beaches. Set over 3 floors, this can easily sleep 6. Great views and very spacious for the family. The bathroom on the first floor was ideal however the shower ensuite may not be suitable for anyone over 6ft due to the height of the shower head, good use of space but it felt rather cramped. It should also be noted, the locality of White Cove is at the top of a popular beach slipway, you may hear conversations in the evening along with the bins being emptied late at night and early in the morning for the beach cafe which is a mere stones throw away. Overall, lovely house and would stay again.

Mrs Marshall

The location is excellent being only 50 metres from the beach. Beach cafe/restaurant serves lovely food with beautiful views. There wasn't any noise from it, as mentioned in earlier posts so no need to be concerned about that. The 'hub-hub of the main area of St Ives is a few mins away so everything is on the doorstep but it is very quiet near the property in the evenings.

Mrs Pincher

What a lovely week spent at White Cove. Perfect for us as a couple and teenage son. Our Labrador loved it and once he'd worked out the stairs (not allowed up stairs at home) he was very comfortable. There were two dog bowls and a blanket provided but we had taken our own blankets as he was moulting. Great use of space with the kitchen and table, compact but certainly felt bright and airy. The shower in the en-suite is actually under the stairs - not a problem for me at 5'4" but any taller people may need to use the shower over the bath in the main bathroom. Beds were comfy and linen clean and fresh. Really enjoyed our week and hope to visit again soon.

Mrs HIGGS

White cove was a great property. We loved our stay.

Mrs Everest

This is a lovely cottage and a delight to retreat to in this most unusual of years. Our two weeks went far too quickly and we look forward to next year's visit. As usual part of the holiday was spent finishing a novel to submit to my publisher and this year we also celebrated a book release as well. What better way to work than looking out to sea on a sunny day!

Ms Talbot

I will review later - I will send an email

Miss Otter

Exceeded our expectations, fantastic location, beautiful property with great views! Would stay again in a heart beat.

Mrs Collins

We have just stayed at White Cove and found it exceptional! It was very clean, spacious, modern, well equipped and dog friendly! The location is perfect and we would definitely stay here again! Claire Collins, August 20

Mr Johanson

Lovely location , so close to the beach so ideal for children or dogs . Stairs not suitable for young children so maybe child gates would be good . En suite is very small and shower not suitable for anyone tall . View is lovely !

Mr McShane

This cottage ticked all the boxes for our stay and we have immediately rebooked there.

Miss Jackson

Fantastic place to stay. Aspects were very helpful start to end. Great layout and design and perfect for a dog - ours loved it. Will look forward to returning :)

Mrs Everest

Again we had a wonderful week at White Cove. Either relaxing and looking at the view or heading out for a walk White Cove is perfectly situated for our holiday. Henry, the dog loves the cottage too.

Mrs Jeens

Beautiful property with outstanding views and close to all amenities

Mrs Everest

We always look forward to visiting White Cove for a relaxing holiday with sea views. As always I had to work on a book but it is a joy to work in such a lovely place. Henry (our dog) loves White Cove!

Mrs Everest

We look forward to our visits to Downalong, St Ives each year and to White Cove in particular. The property is clean, welcoming and perfect for us. I've had to work during several visits and have completed two novels whilst staying at White Cove. The perfect property for a writer!

Mrs Kilvert

Loved it! A real holiday ‘home’, clean, comfortable and everything you need in a fantastic location.

Mrs Everest

My hope is to buy my own property on Downalong. Aspect are ideally suited to have a section on their website for such sales. Just a suggestion ... !

Mr Barton

Lovely cottage! Its all about location, location, location and this one has it!

Mr Tonks

Fantastic Location with superb sea views. Modern and well equipped and benefit of being pet friendly.

Mrs Ibbott

Beautiful cottage in just about the best location in St Ives! Falling out of the door in the morning for breakfast in Porthgwidden Café was a highlight!

Mrs Everest

Our stay was relaxing and enjoyable in White Cove. Ideal for our dog, Henry, as well! Wifi was good which was perfect for this author! We will return.

Mr Reid

This cottage is ideal for a family with older children as its location is superb. The steep stairs, I would suggest is not suited for toddlers. The location is brilliant being 30 seconds from beach but this brings its downside as the Porthgwidden bistro can be noisy at night. If you want a quiet get away White Cove if not for you but if you want a property that is at the heart of the beach in the day as well as a social hub at night then White Cove is for you

Mr Williams

We very much enjoyed 'White Cove'. It was a wonderful location - very convenient for body boarding and then getting warm quickly!
The decor was lovely - very bright and fresh.
It was well equipped and with excellent instructions/information given about the equipment in the house.

Miss Boardman

One of the best properties we have stayed in when we have visited St Ives!
