The Apple Press
Just ten miles north of Lyme Regis, the 'Pearl of Dorset', situated in gentle Somerset countryside is The Apple Press, a fabulously converted single storey farm building.
The open plan living space is perfect for socialising and spending quality time together. Open up the patio doors and enjoy the peace of the countryside that envelops this property. There is great character throughout, with restored A-frame beams and a pretty brick and flint exterior. Chefs will delight in the modern kitchen that is well-equipped.
You won't have to wander far for your morning coffee in the sunshine, as the main bedroom has French doors leading straight out to the patio. The en suite shower-room is cleverly designed and has a luxurious rainfall shower head. Two further delightful bedrooms share a modern family bathroom.
Whilst The Apple Press is totally separate and private, it is possible to integrate this lovely accommodation with two other properties on site - Wreath Farmhouse (4445) and The Cowshed (4743). If booked together, these properties (all part of Wreath Farm) sleep 18 + 3 cots. The owners live in another barn conversion on site and are on hand if you need them but all of the properties have a good degree of privacy from each other.
Your four-legged friend will delight in the fully enclosed garden and it is a gorgeous spot to sit out and enjoy al fresco dining. Fantastic holiday memories can be made here and you will totally feel as though you've escaped the hustle and bustle of daily life. There is also a walking track around the rear paddock, which is peaceful and secluded. As an added bonus, there is access to an outbuilding where you will find a table-tennis table - perfect for family tournaments! This facility is shared with the other barn conversions on site.

Nice family and dog friendly barn. Very comfortable and quiet. Central location Garden not large but fully enclosed but still very functional and nice. Beds very comfortable with nice linen and bathrooms good size and very smart. Found nice pub/garden The Ship Inn at Axmouth dog friendly. Good farm shop Barleymow’s near Chard. We will stay here again.
Ms Jones

Mr Luke
A lovely cottage in with a few other cottages at the end of a narrow road nicely placed in a quiet countryside position. The cottage is comfortable, relaxing and well appointed - we had a lovely stay there.
Mr McLusky
Great property, highly recommended!
Mr Jones

Mrs Holliday
We couldn’t have had a more lovely stay for new year . Everything was perfect and the owners so helpful and kind can’t wait to return
Mrs Blackburn
Lovely stay, very comfortable with nice furnishings. Great layout and open plan living.
Mr Broadhurst
A lovely barn conversion, very comfortable. All Amenities needed are available. Quiet and secluded, a great getaway.
Mrs Stewart
As we were only using the accommodation as a base and not for exploring the area I cannot comment on the facilities that the area had to offer. We used food shops in Chard which were very handy. The welcome tray was much appreciated at the end of a long and wet journey in early November.
Mr Brown
We have stayed at many holiday cottages and please let the owner know that this was probably the best we have stayed at, everything was excellent quality, everything we needed was there, the most comfortable beds we have slept in and loads of draws and a wardrobe with plenty of hangers which isn't always the case! We will definitely be back.
Mrs Holloway
The Apple Press is a bautiful property, with luxurious finishes throughout. Spacious living accommodation, with ample space for 3 generations. Super comfy beds, gorgeous bathrooms and a wonderfully equipped kitchen with everything you could possibly hope for. Chard is a short drive away, with lots of amenities and a wonderful farm shop (Barleymows) well worth a visit to stock up on fresh local produce and yummy cakes. The property is in a peaceful, idilic location and it has been a real treat to spend our holiday here.
Mrs Mardon
Excellent accommodation that feels luxurious due to the quality furniture and bed linens etc and we couldn't fault the cleanliness. The Apple Press is light and spacious and we were warm and cosy enough. We loved the huge dining table that allowed us to set up a large jigsaw at one end and still have loads of room left for dining. The owners had left us a welcome tray of goodies and fresh milk in the fridge which was much appreciated. Cut fresh flowers - beautiful seasonal daffodils were also in the property. The location at the end of a track is very peaceful but handy for reaching the Jurassic and Devon coastline or for heading North to explore Somerset. Wells with it's beautiful cathedral is only an hour away and has some nice shops to browse round and the shopping outlet at Street is even nearer! Lyme Regis, a favourite of ours, is only 25 mins away. Forde Abbey House and Gardens - very local - are worth a visit. We also ate at the Cotley Inn, as a previous reviewer did, and our meals were excellent. The Apple Press didn't disappoint in any way and we loved our stay. Would happily return and recommend to others.
Mrs Markey
We had a lovely 4 night stay in the apple press. The owners have converted the barn into a luxurious holiday let and we were lucky to be the first to book this year. You literally sink into the beds and it is so nice to have underfloor heating. The dog walking paddock is great and the little room for table tennis kept the kids happy. There are some walks from the door and the location is very private and peaceful. It is easy to drive to the coast and there are some good pubs nearby. I would recommend the cotley inn for Sunday lunch. We all had a great break and would love to stay longer next time.
Mrs Baykara
A hidden gem in a delightful location. The Apple Press is all on one level, very spacious and comfortable, especially the beds. Lovely little garden which is private and backs on to a paddock. We will definately return in Spring or early Summer to take advantage of the garden and paddock, the later offers beautiful views. Friendly and helpful owners.
Miss Webb
Lovely spacious cottage. Well presented and looked after. Had everything you need for a relaxing time. Beds are huge and so comfy you will definitely sleep well here.
Mrs Kuhler
The property was in a very quiet location which suited us. The furniture was good quality and the beds very comfy.
Mr Barham
This cottage is in a secluded location but still close enough to all the amenities you need. Excellent property for 2 couples holidaying together or families with older children.
