Tucked away in the glorious Tamar Valley, Hillside View is a rather special holiday retreat where peace, beautiful countryside and the great outdoors are right on your doorstep. With the Tamar Way close by, it is a wonderful setting for days spent exploring on foot, whether you are heading out for a family adventure, stretching your legs with your four-legged friend or simply wandering through the surrounding woodland and countryside before returning home to the warmth and comfort of your own cosy retreat.

There is something wonderfully relaxing about Hillside View. Tucked away from the hustle and bustle, it is a place where you can truly switch off and enjoy the simple pleasures of a self-catering escape. After a day exploring the Tamar Valley, kick off your walking boots, light one of the two wood-burners and settle down with a steaming mug of cocoa as the evening draws in.

Once inside the sense of space and style immediately makes an impression. The beautifully presented open-plan living area has been cleverly zoned to create distinct spaces for relaxing, dining and cooking, while two wonderful wood-burners sit at either end of the room, adding a cosy glow on cooler evenings. Clever use of colour brings the room to life, while the large L-shaped sofa provides the perfect spot to curl up and watch a favourite film after a day out exploring.

The country-style kitchen is every bit as welcoming, combining everything you need for a relaxed self-catering stay with a lovely collection of vintage china. Whether you are preparing a leisurely Sunday roast, rustling up brunch after a morning walk or simply putting together a quick supper, you will have everything you need close at hand. The dining-table is made for long, sociable evenings, perhaps with a special bottle of wine and a game of cards afterwards, whilst the wood-burner creates a wonderfully warm and inviting atmosphere. There is little doubt that the family dog will have found their favourite spot and be happily snoozing away.

When the stars begin to appear over the valley and it is time to call it a night, head upstairs to discover three comfortable and spacious bedrooms. Each has been thoughtfully styled to create a calm and restful space, with crisp white linens and soft touches making lovely places to retreat to at the end of the day. The three bedrooms share the family bathroom, complete with a bath for a long soak after a day on the trails, as well as a separate shower cubicle for those mornings when you are keen to get out and explore.

Outside, the garden is a little oasis of calm. A comfortable L-shaped seating area provides a lovely, shady spot to enjoy a morning coffee or settle down with a glass of something chilled as the sun begins to set. Fire up the barbecue and let the evening unfold as dinner is cooked under the watchful eye of the chef for the night, surrounded by the peaceful view of the trees. From the first coffee of the morning, accompanied by birdsong, to the last drink of the evening beneath the stars, this is a garden that invites you to slow down and enjoy being together.

With the Tamar Way, beautiful woodland and the wider Tamar Valley waiting to be explored, Hillside View is a wonderful choice for those looking to escape to the countryside. Whether your perfect day involves a long family walk, discovering the local area, returning home muddy and happy with the dog, or simply staying put with the wood-burners glowing, this is a place where you can relax, reconnect and enjoy the very best of a self-catering escape.
