Maple Cottage
Managed by Classic Cottages
Entering from the parking area, overlooking the main garden you will find yourself in a useful utility-room. Here the owner, who lives on site, has thoughtfully provided picnic ware so you can enjoy a meal outside or even further afield. Through the modern, Shaker-style kitchen and up a couple of steps leads you to the cosy sitting-room with its wall of windows looking through the various trees. Enjoy some time watching the birds or just listening to the rustling of the leaves.
From here take the stairs down to the bedroom with en suite shower-room and French doors leading onto a private patio, a great place to sit and relax in the shade.
This wonderful cottage has an abundance of outdoor areas, each with its own seating, the best being the lower garden with its spacious patio. Sit under the pagoda with its beautiful lilac wisteria, or in the cute wooden seats. It is also here that you will find the summer-house, with comfortable seating and views across the countryside. As it is heated and insulated you can enjoy this all year round.

Maple Cottage is a really lovely place for a holiday in the Lake District.
It is very cosy for just two people and providing everything you need. Amazing what can be made of such a limited space. The summer-house is a gem in itself, in good as in not so good weather. There are four places for sitting outside and perhaps enjoying your meal or snack or one or the other glass. Or just doing nothing, perhaps looking around the wonderful garden.
Lake Windermere is within a few minutes drive. Grange-over-Sands is also nearby and has an amazing long promenade. Levens Hall is nearly on the doorsteps of Maple Cottage and is nice for breakfast or lunch.
Very recommendable.
We‘d love to come back and explore more of the Lake District.

On arrival we were very pleased with the cottage ...the grounds are beautiful and we found it very relaxing with some lovely walks right on our doorstep ..Levens Hall and deer Park .
Great base to explore the surrounding places mat some lovely people ..

A homely property in lovely gardens with other independent properties. Was very well equipped and thought through. We felt the space of the house was just about ok for two and a small dog and as described, is on different levels, so quite a few steps inside and out. That didn't detract from our enjoyment as the upstairs was great for bird watching amongst the trees. It is in a very quiet spot but close to Levens Hall and Arnside as well as the South lakes.

I'm afraid this "cottage" did not live up to expectations. It is very small, and in places cramped, with many steps to negotiate. But by far the worst problem is the parking situation. Having driven down the drive the only way out is to reverse which is rather difficult with a low stone wall on one side and an unguarded drop down on the other.
The kitchen is well equipped and the place is warm.
