Reviews

Sitting in gorgeous countryside, this 100 year old luxury sandstone cottage is just a stone's throw from Cowdray House and only a five-minute drive from the centre of Midhurst. It's the perfect retreat for couples, families and friends looking to explore Cowdray and all that Sussex and the South Downs National Park has to offer.

Beautifully furnished with comfort in mind, Costers Lodge retains many of its original features and countryside charm. As you step inside the front door you are greeted by a large entrance hall. Stairs will take you up to three bedrooms all individually decorated and each having their own en suite bath/shower room.

The open plan kitchen/living area really is the heart of the house, a space where everyone can socialise and enjoy quality time together. The kitchen is fully equipped and includes a range cooker with gas hob and double electric oven, dishwasher, and Nespresso coffee machine. Doors open to the terrace and garden, a peaceful spot where you can relax and listen to the sounds of nature. There is a large table, chairs, barbecue and fire-pit, perfect for al fresco dining or a spot of star gazing.

Parking is beside the cottage, there is also an electric car charging station. Dogs will love staying here with an abundance of footpaths to enjoy including walks around the Cowdray Estate.

From the cottage you can walk to the Cowdray Farm Shop and Cafe (a must for lovely produce) or a little further into Midhurst, a bustling market town with an eclectic mix of independent shops.

Also located on the Cowdray Estate you will find Apsley Cottage (5148) and Challens Yarde (5149).

Two dogs are welcomed at Costers Lodge, a third may be brought on request.

Customer reviews

Good or bad, we publish all the reviews left by the guests who have stayed at this property.

Mr Gale

Very comfortable and well located for visiting the area. The bedrooms are all a good size and the open plan kitchen/living room is generous. Nice garden. Probably best to access the house from Midhurst if you can; the lane direct from the A272 is very narrow in parts, although it is probably quicker if you are coming from the Petworth direction. The Weald and Downland Museum is close by and well worth a visit.

Mrs Rossiter

Beautifully finished and comfortable cottage in quiet location, within walking distance of the town.
