Reviews

South Barn at Pickeridge is tucked away on a 120 acre working farm in a secluded valley between West Hoathly and Ardingly. It's the perfect retreat for families and friends looking to holiday in a peaceful location but in an area close to the many attractions that Sussex has to offer.

Newly converted and eco-friendly, this semi-detached modern barn offers a spacious and contemporary living space with a wonderful open plan kitchen, dining and living area which is very sociable.

There are three bedrooms. On the ground floor is a spacious family room featuring a comfortable king-size double bed. There is also a single bed and an en suite bathroom with bath and shower cubicle. This room has double doors that open onto a terrace and garden.

There is an additional ground floor shower-room and upstairs are two twin bedrooms which enjoy countryside views.

A separate garden off the sitting-area is perfect for guests with pets. On warmer days, open the doors to welcome the outside in and enjoy al fresco dining or breakfast on the patio whilst you take in the sounds of mother nature.

Outside and above the workshop is a fitness-room shared with the owners. There is a rowing-machine and yoga mats with blocks for general use and the Peloton bike (please bring your own shoes) and weights are available on request (used at own risk). This area is available on a rota basis. You can workout whilst taking in the views over the surrounding countryside.

South Barn at Pickeridge is directly next door to Pickeridge Barn (5216) and North Barn at Pickeridge (5215). Pickeridge Barn has a large living area/event space that is positioned between South Barn and North Barn and is perfect for guests wanting to host multi-family, multi-generational getaways or for friends to organise their own yoga, wellness and nature retreats. The owners can help guests find local chefs or yoga teachers for those wanting a celebration meal or some wellness activities for their holiday. These can be discussed and booked with the owner. If both South Barn and North Barn are booked together (Pickeridge Barn) the entire property can accommodate up to 13 guests.

Mr McCormick

The cottage is finished to very high standard, with more facilities than anyone would need. It is situated in lovely area with picturesque views of the surrounding countryside. Thank you to Rachel and Will for providing such a fine property, we enjoyed our stay immensely.

Mrs Dow

South Barn is beautifully renovated and has stunning surroundings. It offers comfortable beds, large bathrooms, and a well-equipped kitchen. Classic Cottages and the owner were easy to communicate with, making us feel welcome. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

Ms Cook

A wonderful countryside location with superb hosts. The newly developed property was very comfortable and the country-side walks directly from the front door were excellent. A great place to go and relax in the country-side.

Mrs Fischer

We had a perfect family time at Pickeridge! It's a wondeful place and our kids (1 & 4 yo) liked it too. A quiet place in good distance to a day trip to London.

Mrs Axford

South Barn at Pickeridge was perfect! A lovely setting and the cottage was spacious and well laid out for a family. The kitchen was well stocked with everything you could ask for to rustle up a good meal. Wifi was excellent which was useful as it was difficult to get a good mobile signal. The hosts were fabulous and very friendly and helped us to settle in and answered any questions we had. I would highly recommend this place.

Mrs Maude

We loved everything about South Barn cottage. We were very fortunate with the weather and the fact it was lambing season but rain or shine South Barn is a wonderful place to stay. It’s cozy enough to enjoy and be comfortable even if it’s pouring with rain (which it was on our last morning). We found the chess excellent entertainment. It was lovely to see our children have a break from their screens. Our dog also enjoyed the space and surroundings. Some super walks! Lovely village. Rachel and Will were great hosts. We couldn’t have asked for more. We will certainly be back and would highly recommend.
