We had a fantastic time at Medleys Barn with our two labradors. It is a lovely barn conversion in a gorgeous setting. With access to woods and fields for the dogs. Lots of wildlife to spot in this peaceful setting. The barn is spacious yet cosy and is very well equipped with everything you could need. We enjoyed walks in Ashdown Forest and the local pub, The Hurstwood is good and dog friendly. Plenty to do a little further afield from Sissinghurst to the Seven Sisters. All in all, we highly recommend Medleys Barn and hope to visit again.

We had a wonderful stay at Medleys Barn over the long Easter weekend. It is beautiful inside and out, very light and spacious, with everything you could possibly need for a happy holiday. We enjoyed the local walks and pubs (The Hurstwood is good and a bit further afield The Cat Inn is excellent) and the pottery session with Sophie was a particular highlight! All in all, we highly recommend Medleys Barn and definitely hope to visit again.

Very lovely cottage with lots of space. Easily sleeps 4. Comfy furniture, large kitchen with a lot of pots and pans. Owners are very friendly and helpful. Ideal for dog owners as your dog can just run around on its own across the fields. The tennis court is very good and plenty of rackets are found in the cottage. Fun to play a game or two. The surroundings are lovely. So much to do if you are a nature lovers, but plenty of other stuff too. Close enough to the coast and London that you can spend weeks here. Definitely recommended, we would love to revisit some time in the future!

The hosts are very friendly and responded quickly to any queries. Medleys Barn is on the whole well appointed and in a good location. Beds are quirky. The double is reached by steps which can present a problem when getting up in the night due to the drop of several feet to the floor below. Moreover, if used by two people, the person nearest the wall has no other access or means of exit other than to clamber over the other occupant! Likewise the family bathroom lacks towel rails, vanity cabinets and storage for toiletries which could be an issue for some. Downstairs the view of a rather dilapidated shed from the kitchen is unappealing, although the rest of the property and surroundings are well presented. The garden which while attractive however suffers from a lack of privacy when the tennis court is in use. Some additional shrubs to act as a screen would be welcome. Overall, recommended with minor reservations.

We booked the barn for a festive weekend with our families prior to Christmas. The barn was beautifully decorated for our Christmas festivities and was the perfect place to host a family gathering. It was very warm and cosy and there was plenty of equipment for food preparation and presentation. Sophie was very helpful when there was a problem with the electricity and an electrician was on site by 9:45am to rectify the issue. It was very peaceful site and overall we had a very enjoyable 4 nights. We would unreservedly recommend this holiday cottage and hope to repeat our early family celebration at Medleys barn in the future.

Medley's Barn is in a beautiful location. It is spacious, comfortable, well equipped and tastefully furnished. It provides everything that you need for an enjoyable stay. The hosts are helpful, friendly and welcoming. Great place for a relaxing break!

A lovely property, clean & beautifully decorated. The tennis court was a huge bonus & even thought it rained for most of the week we managed to get some play in when the sun briefly peaked out from behind the clouds. Lots to do in the area & the dogs loved it too!

Charming cottage, we booked both the Barn and Tea Hut for our parents to stay with use, which work really well. Lovely quiet location, which was very relaxing, we made use of the tennis court and had a pottery lesson which was fab. Lots to do in the area, would highly recommend.

Medleys Barn is a beautiful place to stay and a perfect base for exploring the area or just staying put and unwinding. The accommodation is extremely comfortable and well-equipped, and we managed to revive our tennis skills!

Medleys Barn is extremely comfortable and the location is beautiful and peaceful. The furnishings are stylish and the kitchen is well equipped. The hosts are very friendly and helpful. Nothing is too much trouble. We have stayed at Medley's Barn twice now and would definitely book again.

We had a wonderful time at Medleys Barn. It is set in a beautiful location, with endless things to do in the vicinity: walking, steam trains, stately homes, beautiful gardens, zoos and more. The house itself is lovely and very well equipped: it was rather hot upstairs but this was during the heatwave, and Sophie thoughtfully provided a fan and a big bag of ice for our stay. The children loved their room and the tennis court, and we all enjoyed meeting Beetle the dog! There was a plumbing issue during our stay and Sophie, despite being on holiday herself, got it sorted extremely promptly. We would all highly recommend the Barn!

This is our second visit to Medleys and won’t be our last. We absolutely love it. The barn is spacious and light and if you like tennis / pottery and peace and quiet of the countryside then it’s perfect. Sophie and Charlie are lovely hosts living on site but leaving you total privacy. The area is lovely and local amenities easy to reach. We love it. I am hoping the nice review doesn’t mean we can’t book next year!!

Medley’s Barn is both picturesque and comfortable in a peaceful and beautiful countryside location. It has every facility you could wish for and is immaculately clean and well presented, with a lovely homely feel. Sophie was a perfect host, extremely helpful but not intrusive. My pottery lesson was a particular highlight; great fun. I would unreservedly recommend this property.

Medley Barn is a perfectly equipped, comfortable and very relaxing place to stay. A lovely little welcome pack was awaiting us too. It has absolutely everything you could need for your stay, that is if you didn't want to eat out int he many great eateries around! The whole barn is so well heated. We couldn't fault it. Sophie was an excellent host, who greeted us shortly after our arrival and was so helpful about local information, and really accommodating with ensuring we had all we needed, even brought us ice from her freezer! Would 100% recommend it and Classic Cottages to friends and family.

A charming barn conversion, Medleys barn made the perfect place for our quiet 2020 Christmas. Amazingly well equipped, it is warm and cosy with many extra touches that make it feel so homely. A truly stunning location and very welcoming hosts.

We absolutely loved our stay at Medleys Barn. The barn was beautiful, it felt like home from home the moment we walked in! Perfect location with 2 lovely pubs a short distance from the barn. The owners were friendly and helpful and there is no doubt that we will return! Thanks again for our wonderful stay.

So lucky to find Medley’s Barn which has everything we needed for our stay – the warm and spacious rooms, the fully equipped kitchen, the surrounding nature, and the wonderful owner! The pottery workshop with the owner was the real treat for us – highly recommended! Can’t wait to return to this place in the future.

Sophie was an excellent host and communicated well with us without being bothersome. Her and her partner were very friendly and keen to help with anything we needed including any running repairs or local information. A thoroughly enjoyable stay in West Sussex and we'd recommend their beautiful cottage to friends and family alike.
