Reviews

Nestled in a peaceful setting and part of a former convent, Poppets Cottage is as charming as its name implies.

Thoughtfully furnished in a country vintage style, this delightful one-bedroom rural escape offers guests outdoor seating with views across the garden and as night falls, the option to retreat to a cosy sofa and an open fire should the temperature or mood call for it.

With wooden floors that run through to the double bedroom, with its comfy king-size bed, the vaulted sitting-room offers a real sense of light and space and has views across the lawn.

The country kitchen, with its gorgeous Belfast sink, has everything you might need to create a gastronomic feast for two, or perhaps simply a bottle of wine and a plate of bread, cheese and pick-your-own fruit from Buxted Oast Farm Shop on the outskirts of the village. The bathroom gives guests the best of both worlds with a full-size bath and shower to ease away those pre-holiday aches and pains.

Set in the grounds of the owners' home, there is access via the owners' garden to a woodland walk which leads towards the village and which enables guests to take their four-legged friend on an exploration of the area.

The grounds also provide one or two seating areas that give gorgeous views across the valley below, a perfect spot to watch the sun go down. You may even be joined by the owners' free-range chickens which roam the garden from time to time, along with their dog and two gorgeous cats.
