Jessie is a gorgeous shepherd's hut situated two hours from London, tucked away down a long meandering path in a paddock between crab apple and cherry trees, with views of the Sussex countryside.

Beautifully crafted and thoughtfully designed, Jessie is surprisingly spacious. At one end of the hut there is a cosy double bed which folds neatly into the wall when not in use. There is also a wood-burner with plenty of logs to keep you warm during the autumn and winter months. The kitchen has everything you will need for a short break and has a large fridge, microwave with grill and plenty of crockery. Dine around the solid oak table or play board games if it is raining outside. At the other end of the hut is a lovely shower-room with a WC.

Outside as you step down from the hut there is a garden bench and a small table and chairs. Enjoy the local wildlife and observe the occasional sheep and cows or maybe stargaze as you sit around the fire-pit which doubles up as a barbecue, perfect for al fresco dining.

Miss Hazell

We had such an enjoyable weekend at Jessie. The Hut was clean, beautifully decorated and had everything we needed for our stay. The wood burning stove was lovely. The lit up path made arriving in the evening straightforward. We really enjoyed exploring the surrounding area (Battle, Hastings) and visiting the local pubs. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a peaceful weekend away!

Miss Jarvis

The perfect place to wind down on the first weekend of the new year! Jessie had everything we needed and was so cute and cosy - absolutely loved our time there, thank you!

Mr Hicks

We loved every second of our time at this fabulous place. We wanted to escape the world for a little while and we certainly did that! Jessie has been well thought out and had everything we needed and more!

Dansie

I'd like to tell no one about Jessie as its such a very special place if you like peace, quiet and countryside. But of course I will tell, and say that those who do go, as I, will love it. My dog too was very comfortable indeed.

Mr Darcy

Jessie shepherds hut was absolutely amazing, my partner and I had such a relaxing weekend. Lovely touch leaving eggs, butter and bread for a simple Saturday morning breakfast. I have already recommended the property to family and friends and will return again! Brian the dog also had a fantastic time.

Miss Williams

We had the most amazing weekend at Jessie. The location is so picturesque, private and in the perfect spot for exploring everything East Sussex has to offer. Very dog friendly too which is such a bonus! Thank you for a great stay.

Mrs Sutton

Had a wonderful few days away, Jessie is an amazing shepherd’s hut which is fully equipped and I loved the pull down bed, i have stayed in other huts but this one was definitely at the top of the list. I was looking for a secluded and restful place to recharge and it did not fail to succeed so much that i wanted to stay! It’s private and you can feel like the outside is miles away. Short walk to the local pub and the roaming geese are an added bonus. If you’re looking to recharge in simple luxury Jessie definitely hits the spot.

Mr Kertesz

Great little cottage, a short walk to the pub and village shop, and a short drive to the best of 1066 Country. It was perfect for a short break for one. Excellent communication throughout the booking process.

Miss Riddiford

We typically don’t write reviews, but our stay at Jessie was exceptional. The accommodation was impeccably equipped, with every detail meticulously thought out. We enjoyed the best night’s sleep in a clean and cosy environment. The privacy was wonderful and the proximity to fantastic local pubs made for delightful walks right from our doorstep. We will definitely be returning.

Mr Brown

We really enjoyed our short getaway to Jessie. Its location is idealistic with privacy but within walking distance of the local village with an exceptional pub in, The Queens Head. Short drive distances to nearby attractions and walks such Battle and the picturesque town of Rye and Camber sands beach. Would highly recommend!

Mrs Tuinman-Bell

We had such a fantastic stay at Jessie! It has everything you could possibly need and very easy check in and out - we would definitely stay again!

Mr Domican

Mrs Ewen

We had a lovely 2 night stay in Jessie, it was very cosy and the views were beautiful, Our dog loved the log burner!! We found the location perfect, we visited Bedgebury Pinetum Christmas light show and found a nice pub near by called the White House...We will definitely return in the future.

Mr Taylor

We stayed at Jessie for a few days in November whilst visiting relatives in the area. The location was absolutely perfect for us, so quiet and peaceful. Even a local power failure in the area on our first night could not dampen our enthusiasm for a most enjoyable stay at a lovely Shepherd's Hut. We will almost certainly be paying a return visit.

Miss Lepinard

I had a really wonderful time staying at Jessie and discovering the area. Neighbours were lovely (the sheep!) and the wood burner made for some delighfully cosy evenings. The hut is equipped with everything one might need (and I mean absolutely everything), and comes with helpful tips for enjoying the area. I would absolutely recommend, and come back myself.

Mrs Campbell

Lovely little hideaway. So peaceful, lovely view. Highly recommended.

Mrs Cooper

We LOVED our stay, everything was absolutely perfect. Even Storm Anthony didn't dampen our experience.

Mrs Hayet-Patino

Absolutely loved our stay at Jessie. The owners have thought of everything. It's beautifully decorated, well designed, spotlessly clean & very comfortable. Everything you can possibly need is supplied. It's a lovely spot and we particularly liked the feeling of privacy. It's just you & the wildlife, which we saw plenty of. We decided within 10 minutes of arrival that we definitely wanted to come back and straight way booked another stay for the autumn. We had a minor electrical problem early on in our stay but one call to the owner & it was sorted out very fast & efficiently. Very much looking forward to returning.

Mrs Taylor

We had such a lovely stay in Jessie. We stayed for two nights which was a perfect amount of time for such a warm and cosy space. It was beautifully presented, clean and very comfortable. The bed mechanism was easy to use and therefore a clever way to make the most of the space. The countryside views were wonderful with plenty of wildlife to spot. Even though the weather was not kind on this trip it felt so cosy inside listening to the rain on the roof. A perfect long weekend destination. Classic Cottages were, as ever, a delight to deal with from start to finish.

Mrs Ericson

Jessie is a fantastic little property, with every piece of equipment you could possibly need for a short break away and more. We loved how quiet it was, that it was in a completely dog-proof orchard, the thoughtful touches like dog towels, dog bowls, the food essentials and toiletries and overall, how comfortable it was. The surrounding area is fabulous to explore - there are vineyards, lovely country walks with lots of wildlife to spot, and it's not far to the sea. We loved it!

Mr Quiney

Jessie was the perfect get away for my wife and I. We enjoyed walking through the local trails. If you need some peace and quiet with all modern comforts. Jessie is just the place to stay.

Miss Bragg

We had such a wonderful stay at Jessie - the hut was so cosy! Literally the only people there so it felt so private and secluded. We loved lazy mornings watching the sheep in the opposite field. There's lots of lovely country walks and it's close to Battle & Rye (which are definitely worth a visit). Everything you could possibly need is provided, and it's lovely and clean. Also great that dogs are allowed! Thanks for a fab stay, we didn't want to leave :)

Mr May

A rural, scenic and quiet getaway - perfect to unwind.

Mr underwood

1st class break highly recommended

Mr Humphreys

It was a fantastic cosy home from home. Even in the summer, seeing a beautiful fire made the evenings so comfortable and romantic. Everything we could have asked for.

Dr Bush

We have just returned from a long spring weekend in Jessie. The shepherd's hut was immaculately presented and welcoming, making for a very relaxing stay. We were able to walk 7 miles from the front door into the beautiful East Sussex countryside, but also use as a base to visit local attractions. Highly recomended.
