Castlemans Stables East
In the heart of East Sussex's 1066 countryside and set within the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Castlemans Stables East is one of a pair of sympathetically converted stable blocks, well-equipped and delightfully furnished, less than a 10 minute walk from the charming village of Sedlescombe which offers visitors 'gastro pub' dining at the Queens Head, a pretty village green edged by 16th Century half-timbered houses and a well-stocked village shop.
Castlemans Stables East sleeps four, has two bedrooms and two bath/shower rooms, and maintains a sense of its heritage with overhanging roofs, stalls and hayracks, together with a shared but intimate courtyard which captures the country stables atmosphere.
There are uninterrupted views across fields and woodland from the private deck and you might even spot some of the local wildlife, including deer and badgers.
At the front of the stables there is an enclosed area of lawn, which is shared with the neighbouring property. Sitting at the picnic bench on the lawn is the perfect spot to plan your day's adventure.
Castlemans Stables East can be booked with its neighbour Castlemans Stables West (4422).

This is a beautiful cottage which really had everything we needed for a relaxing and enjoyable stay. All facilities were of excellent quality and it was beautifully and thoughtfully furnished. It was perfect for our dog - a large field to wander in and great footpaths on our door step. We visited with elderly relatives and the shower and whole cottage were incredibly accessible. This is a lovely area of Sussex/Kent with great day trips.
Mrs Leonard
We were 2 couples and a dog staying at Castlemans East, and what a fabulous time we had. It was such a relief after a long drive to have spacious parking area and be greeted with stunning grounds The outside space was fabulous with plenty of space for our dog to have a run around and me to do a bit of yoga ! the views over fields and hills were very calming and this made for a relaxing stay We were spoilt for choice with outside seating, the private decked area, including a barbecue, spacious grounds, picnic tables and deck chairs available for our use, this was very much appreciated and a bonus given the fabulous weather we had. The stables themselves were of a high standard in every way, lovely and clean, comfortable and stylish with lovely finishing touches. Both bedrooms were tastefully decorated with very comfortable beds and pillows ensuring a good nights sleep. Having 2 bathrooms was great with the main having en-suite Kitchen was well equipped should you wish to cook, a very generous welcome hamper was provided. Comfortable sofas in living area, home from home and wood burner which would be cosy in the winter. Sedlescombe itself was only a short walk and had a great pub serving good food, it was lovely to see the geese on the green. The surrounding area had good walks, we walked to Sedlescombe Vineyard, would recommend the ploughman’s. So many places to visit within a short drive, we loved old Hastings, we loved Merriments RHS gardens, Castles, Battle, Rye and of course dog friendly beaches at Camber Sands. We would highly recommend this property and not hesitate to book again.

My daughter and I enjoyed a short break here in late February. The property was in a quiet convenient location off the main A21 and close to Sedlescombe village. The decor was really lovely and we were warm and cosy with all facilities we needed. There was plenty of parking and the other property across the courtyard wasn’t a problem. The far reaching view was very restful with lovely bird life, including a song thrush. We walked along good footpaths the short distance into the village and had a very tasty Sunday Roast in the comfortable Queen’s Head. The village shop was very well stocked but extra logs and kindling for the wood burner we found at Blackbrooks garden centre just along the road. The owner was very easy to contact and promptly dealt with a couple of issues we had. We would definitely stay here again.

Lovely stable conversion, comfortable with everything you need. Great location for exploring the area, which is very doggy friendly. The village pub is highly recommended!

A spotlessly clean and well equipped cottage. Lovely views of the countryside from the decking area. A fantastic location to visit nearby historical sites. We would highly recommend this cottage.
Mrs Lewis

Can't recommend this property highly enough. We will definitely return.
Mrs Bingham
Beautiful location and very nice, very clean, well-equipped cottages. We took both cottages (East and West) for four adults and two children, plus two dogs. The shared outdoor spaces are very generous and perfect for the children and dogs to play in. The views are wonderful, and there were a range of outdoor tables and benches to enjoy them from. The cottages are true to the pictures, beautifully decorated and it was nice having two bathrooms in each. The location is convenient for the coast and countryside, and the children enjoyed the steam trains and the castles as well as the beach.
Mr Raikes
Simply wonderful. Fantastic place to unplug. Will be going back again.
Mrs Holman
Thank you for a fantastic stay at your beautiful Castleman's stables. It was absolutely fantastic in every way -the welcome basket of goodies, the log burner all ready to go, every detail catered for and the most beautifully decorated rooms in gorgeous peaceful countryside. An incredible break and so luxurious and relaxing -we would recommend it to anyone.
