Reviews

Resting on the sandy shores of Portreath, this newly developed holiday chalet boasts an unparalleled oceanic outlook over the beach, complete with its own private terrace, al fresco seating, and barbecue. The interior is an innovative industrial style that's been cleverly designed with the perfect seaside holiday at heart.

From the sand, climb the stairway and be greeted by the open plan composition that's really made the most of the space, with kitchen, diner and lounge areas. There are huge windows overlooking the beach but if it's even possible to tire of the view, you have a 65-inch TV to relax in front of after a day of rock pooling, swimming, sunbathing, walking, cycling, running and surfing. In the cooler months it's the perfect setup for watching the sunset descend over the rolling waves whilst keeping toasty in front of the electric log-effect stove.

The main bedroom has what can only be described as a next-level view of the seashore, a super-king bed that can be made to twin beds if preferred, with a Smart TV and private shower-room. Bedroom two is comfortable, cosy and bijou with a wet-room and yet another Smart TV, so you will never miss your favourite shows.

This captivating Classic Cottage captures the very essence of beachside holidaying and has been developed so thoughtfully to create the perfect residence for all your seaside activities and adventures.

Mrs Millard

Thoroughly enjoyed our time in Cornwall Cliffdene's location is fantastic, watching the tides was mesmerising!

Mr Frost

Excellent property for beach location & sea views. Great modern chic furnishings & standard of equipment. 100% recommended. Classic Cottages service also 1st Class. Mr F

Mrs Fairey

We really loved this cottage with it's industrial decor and plenty of space. It is in an ideal place to explore the local area and is very pet friendly. You can just sit all day and watch the waves, surfers and people walking on the beach, from an elevated level. The village also has good amenities.

Mr Dickinson

Gorgeous, modern yet cosy property, fantastic location, and well thought out. We would highly recommend it! Well equipped - hairdryer, books, jigsaws, games, blankets, plastic wine glasses for beach, cool bag, ice blocks, wind break & beach toys! Everything has been thought of! Outside shower was a godsend to de-sand too. Comfy beds & bedding - slept so well! Kitchen well stocked with utensils/cookware. Also tea towel & cleaning products at the property when we arrived. Views are unbelievable. Could watch all day. TV is massive & can sign into own apps etc. And TV in both bedrooms. Perfect for a family of four. We gave up the luxurious view of the master bedroom to have the bed split into singles for the kids and it was perfect for everyone. Local cafe/bars are fab - make use of them! No need to go anywhere if you don’t want to. Only thing missing was a full length mirror (not a biggie!) Would have also liked a guide on what the property has already here (ie washing up liquid, tea towel, hairdryers, windbreak) just to have saved us bringing some of this stuff! No car parking is slightly annoying but by no means a deal breaker. Plenty of street parking available, as well as the main car park and the property definitely is worth it. We will be back!!

Mrs Devine

Lovely place to stay, wouldn't hesitate to recommend. Fantastic to be able to step out straight onto the beach. The steps down to the beach were mentioned on their page and it is worth noting that if you have mobility issues it wouldn't be the easiest place to be. We loved it, the dog loved it. Fabulous!

Very good stay

Ms Scott

A wonderful stay in a true seaside location. Lovely to have instant access to the beach and to be able to watch the tides and weather from the comfort of the sofa. I’d describe the property as compact & bijou and has everything needed for a comfortable stay. The beds are excellent and the wetroom is a nice size. Not a lot of storage or hanging space but enough for a ‘week on the beach’ holiday.

Stunning location

Mrs Tutty

The location of this apartment is amazing with just a few steps to the beach and coastal path and a few minutes walk into the village. The village has several cafes, a pub, general store and bakers, all of the same ones we tried were good and friendly. The apartment is well equipped with everything you need for comfort and cooking. We had a problem with the en-suite to the main bedroom where there must have been some repeated flooding resulting in damp flooring as it was wet under the tiles and smelly. This is now being addressed by the owners. When I spoke to Classic Cotrages about this problem both during our stay and when we got home, they were helpful and responsive but unfortunately there was not much that could be done during our stay.

Mrs Tansley

Amazing property sat right on the beach. A little bit of heaven! You can sit and watch the sunrise and sunsets in comfort. The view is beautiful - you would never get tired of looking at the scenery. So convenient to go in the sea and on the beach and be able to go back to your accommodation to freshen up etc. Furnishing is to a very high standard with comfortable sofa's and lots of lovely personal touches - books and games and lovely throws, even personal touches for our dog. Really good quality beds and bedding - slept very well and woken up by the sound of waves. The property location was excellent as it isn't far to travel to visit other areas of Cornwall - however, we went sight seeing but were drawn back to the house as you can't top that! Parking 2 cars was a bit tricky - if you went out for the day you felt unsure if your space was going to be free on return. It states you can park in the car park but it closes overnight. This said, it wouldn't put me off returning to this stunning property. The local facilities; Pod Cafe, Portreath Arms and Atlantic Cafe Bar are fantastic. All have high quality food and service. Everywhere we went in the area we received a warm welcome. Would highly recommend Cliffdene as a place to stay - I just wish I could live there!

MRS CAMPBELL

We had a fabulous time. The views were amazing. Everything you would need is there. Great access to the beach. The wet room was fantastic. The only thing I would say to be aware of are the steps to access the property are a bit steep so if you have mobility problems you may struggle. But there are handrails down them so if you go slowly it's ok. We would definitely go back didn't want to come home. Fish and chips, Chinese, pizzas and ice cream all in walking distance and delicious.

Miss Hyde

I would love to be able to give this property a 5 star review but unfortunately I feel unable to do so due to the access to the property. There are about 10 metal steps to the front of the property and about 20 steps down to the grassy area by the beach. There is a single track road to the front and no allocated parking, when I arrived the space they suggested at the end of the road had vans parked in it. Having said that the property itself was lovely and extremely comfortable with everything you would need. The views were stunning! The property is ideally situated for walks along the coast path and for the local amenities. My dog loved her time on the beach and we hope to return in the future.

Ms Lewington

The accommodation was in a lovely location with a beautiful view. All equipment is provided that you would need. Very cosy and warm. We did, however, have to wash dirty plates and bowls that had obviously not been checked after the previous customers.
