One of a pair of detached barn conversions tucked away in the tranquil hamlet of Crowan, as soon as you pull into the drive, you feel as though you have stepped in to a story book. The craftsmanship here is very special and the thatched roofs set the scene for a beautiful rural escape from the hubbub of everyday life.

The exposed beams, high ceilings and wooden floors give the barn a calm environment for your holiday. The charming open plan living-room has a modern kitchen, light living space with comfy sofa (which converts into a sofa bed) and we feel this is the perfect spot for relaxing on holiday and enjoying the peace and quiet of the cottage. The bedroom with en suite shower-room is on the left as you enter the property, the high ceilings give the bedroom a lovely airy feel.

Outside the front door is a pretty private sitting-area with a table and chairs, you can sit and unwind while you listen to the bird song with a cup of tea or a glass of wine, whichever takes your fancy. The property sits in 10 acres of grounds which the owners invite you and your neighbours at East Barn to explore and use at your leisure.

From the grounds you can access footpaths to discover the local area with no need to get into the car. The owners are very friendly and helpful, and should you have any questions or if you would like any recommendations they would be happy to help.

Mr Hounsome

Very peaceful location, just the birds and an occasional church bell to break the silence. Owners made us feel very welcome. The slices of home made cake on arrival were yummy! Dog on a lead in the grounds but only a few metres to fields and paths where she could run free. Plenty of walks to discover straight from the barn with a number of National Trust and English Heritage places only a short drive away. We were outside the main season (July and August) and dog restrictions had been lifted so we had plenty of choice of beaches to visit.

Mrs Linnell Evans

A great place to stay if you want to get to both East and West coast of southern Cornwall. The barn is well equipped and the owners are on hand to ask questions. Our dogs loved their walks beyond the back of the garden into the old poultry farm. The lanes are a bit tight in places, but there are main roads. We found great eateries in Porthleven, The Mussel Shoal being a particular favourite for food and cocktails. We enjoyed our stay at the barn very much!

Mr WHATMOUGH

Well positioned, quiet, rural cottage.

MISS RYDYGIER

Very friendly and welcoming hosts and a really charming, comfortable and well equipped little barn. Lovely and peaceful and centrally located for visiting the Lizard and North coast. Everything you could possibly need for a relaxing Cornish holiday in a beautiful unspoilt corner of the county.

Mr. Stegemann

Quiet and peaceful location, very friendly owner, lovely barn and a good shelter for the car. A garden at the rear, with a bench to watch a sunset. Fantastic place indeed.

Mr Millington

This was our first visit to Glebe Barns, situated in the small hamlet of Crowan next to the Church, although approached via narrow lanes, there are several passing places. West Barn is very comfortable and very well equipped, situated in tranquil surroundings and not overlooked by the other accommodation on the site.

Mr Riley

Mr Keeping

Great place to stay - all mod cons, comfortable and easy access to everywhere. Nice hosts and dog friendly a bonus

Mrs Knott

Pretty cottage and a really warm welcome from the owners. Dog friendly. Cottage well equipped. Reasonably central for Cambourne and Redruth. Nice walks from the front door. Area rather than cottage Whilst many shops, pubs etc are dog friendly beaches especially to the South are not. We found some in the N and West - Holywell, Perrenporth.

Mr Cureton

West Barn is in a very peaceful and quiet location, which is ideal for a relaxing weeks holiday. There is plenty of information about the surrounding area in the Barn, which is useful. There were plenty of nice walks nearby. Cate and Mike the owners, were very pleasant and helpful. All in all, a very good week
