Reviews

Kerenza is Cornish for love, and you will truly fall in love with this romantic nook found in peaceful, rural surroundings within the parish of Crowan and which sits well for both north and south coast lovers. This heavenly dog-friendly retreat is 'just for two' plus two pet pooches (who will just adore local walks along countryside lanes and footpaths) - so don't forget to pack your walking boots for revitalising rambles with the doggies come rain or shine.

Kerenza is an eco-friendly passive house. A passive house requires the building to be built to the highest standards in terms of air quality and energy efficiency whilst maintaining a constant interior temperature. This ensures that this cosy, warm and welcoming home is simply perfect as a year-round holiday destination.

With easy living accommodation all on ground floor level, the bedroom has a 'zip and link' king-size bed with gorgeous bedding inviting lazy mornings, perhaps with a cheeky breakfast in bed, followed by a zingy reviving shower next door in the modern shower-room.

The open plan living area has a kitchen well-equipped for keen cooks and enthusiastic diners and is tastefully decorated to reflect the eco ethos of the friendly owners who live next door.

Outside, there is a lovely lawned area and pretty patio furniture for leisurely lunches and clotted cream afternoon teas. Imagine pre-dinner drinks whilst taking in the countryside sounds and aromas whilst you relax or perhaps plan your evening menu. There is also an external hot water shower for dog washing/wetsuits/boots or an al fresco shower if you're feeling brave!

Mrs Cox

Amazing! We were lucky enough to stay at Kerenza for Christmas, and the fabulous owners had dressed the cottage beautifully for us. So much thought has gone into creating this cottage. It's light, spacious, and incredibly comfortable. Cooking in the kitchen at Kerenza was a delight! It's about 2 miles (uphill) from the village of Praze-an-Beeble, so you do need to drive to get to a shop, but it doesn't take long. I have holidayed in the UK for many years, and Kerenza is, without doubt, one of the most beautifully finished properties I have stayed in. I can't recommend it enough.

Mrs Goodchild

This is our second time staying in this property. Very clean and well stocked for the two of us. Helpful friendly owners live next door. The location is good for visiting both north, south and west coasts. Lots of lovely beaches to visit and great walks along coast paths. Would stay there again.

Mrs Messenbird

Would recommend this beautiful Cottage and the hosts were very friendly and helpful.

Mrs Ashmore

We had a very enjoyable holiday. The owners were very helpful and friendly. The cottage is spotless with everything you need. Beautiful views in a quiet and peaceful location, but with easy access to beaches, towns and places of interest. We are looking forward to returning

Mrs Kennard

We enjoyed our stay at Kerenza. It was well equipped and had everything we needed. The hosts were very welcoming and helpful with suggestions of places to eat and visit but not intrusive in any way. Kerenza is central for visiting both coastlines and a beautiful, tranquil cottage to relax and return to after a busy day.

Mr Newbould

Very friendly and accommodating owners. Extremely clean and comfortable. Central For discovering Cornwall. Would recommend this property to anyone.

Mr Rimmer

Such a fantastic property in a quiet area while still close enough to explore both North and South coasts. Beautifully presented and very comfortable with everything you could need for a self catered holiday, I would recommend this property to anyone.

Mrs Johnson

Mrs Dear

Mrs Lambert

The owner has done a great job of rebuilding the old derelict former church building and adding a really nice extension to it.Fantastic panoramic views from Blackrock and beautiful sunsets. Will return again.

Mrs Mason

Great place and location for a peaceful holiday for recharging your batteries, or exploring the area, it’s all very accessible.

Mr Griffiths

Lovely cottage in a great location for both coasts. Very clean and comfortable. The owners are friendly and helpful.

Mr James

The location of the property on your Classic map isn’t correct. It’s about 1/2 mile incorrect.

Mrs Goodchild

A lovely cottage, (one of the best we have stayed in). Very well equipped, and a good location for visiting many interesting places in south west Cornwall.

Mr and Mrs Ferguson

Kerenza was very warm, clean and comfortable, bright and cheerful, the building by the owners planned skillfully with ecology in mind, and attractive colour scheme and some lovely paintings. Very comfortable bed. It was a very relaxing and roomy, and so good that we could come here with our dog. A delightful welcome when we arrived and chat while we were shown round which was a wonderful start to the holiday, and a generous and delicious cream tea which gave us tea-time treats for 3 days with cream and jam still left over to add to meals! The owners were kind, friendly and helpful, and came up with very good suggestions about places to go which suited us very well. We loved the scramble up Eagle Rock, very close to the house and a great place for picnics and tremendous views and a great "away from it all" on private land. It is well placed within easy reach of North and South coasts

Mr Holmes

We have had a wonderful week staying in Kerenza, and we can vouch for its air tightness (a key aspect of passive house) as it was severely tested by Storm Agnes! Great location with both north and south coasts within easy reach. Friendly and welcoming hosts, available if needed but otherwise leaving us to our own devices. Will certainly be considering another stay in this beautiful cottage. Pete, Jo and Freddy (JRT X)

Mrs Martinez-Fazackerley

Beautiful property & lovely hosts. Kerenza has everything (& more than) you need for a really comfortable stay. The location is perfect for exploring the surrounding area. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it.

Mrs Wilson

Kerenza is just beautiful - we had everything we needed and the hosts Richard & Kathryn were very helpful and friendly ! Stunning views from the back garden, amazing sunsets . We will be back .

Mrs Day

Kerenza is a very beautiful place to stay which seems to have such a relaxing feel that's built into this exceptionally clever design. It is well positioned too for visiting the coast in whatever direction you choose. This has been an excellent first stay and we hope to be able to return soon, there is so much more to explore.

Mr Teasdale

Welcoming owners were so helpful and supplied everything in Karenza to make our stay memorable and comfortable.

Mr Whitchurch

Everything about this property is beautiful. The owners next to the property are very approachable, helpful and friendly.
