Reviews

This traditional stone cottage, built in 1900, has enjoyed life as a corn chandler, a cobblers and even a venue for the local band practice, and it is now a lovely holiday cottage.

Set only a five minute walk from the pretty village of St Keverne, and less than 10 minutes' drive from the sandy bay at Coverack, the cottage is perfectly positioned for all your holiday needs. Today, the instruments are silent and The Old Stone Workshop is a quiet and comfortable home.

The open plan living area is a sociable place to relax in and spend time with one another in this secluded part of the world. There is also a sunny conservatory that overlooks the enclosed patio, creating space for everyone, including your four-legged friend.

Suitable for a family or a group of friends, there's a double and a twin room on the first floor, both with sloping ceilings, with a shared family bathroom. There is also a bunk-room on the ground floor, which is more suited to little ones, along with a recently refurbished shower-room.

The cottage was perfect in a lovely village. We would definitely stay there again.

Dr Velay

Great location to visit other parts of Cornwall. The village of St Keverne is beautiful and the cottage is well situated to take advantage of this. Lovely place for dog walks and near to some very good dog friendly beaches.

Mr Williams

Lovely spacious cottage with virtually everything needed for a perfect holiday It’s location is excellent for all the amenities of St Keverne and the nearby beaches

Mrs Crudge

Nice touch with a packet of biscuits and milk on arrival. A lovely characteristic cottage in a fairly quiet village with good amenities. Would recommend to others and would stay again if in area and was available. Appreciated that the owner allowed us to rollover our booking twice due to the lockdowns. Thankyou.

Mr Gore

Well situated in the lovely village of St Keverne. Two nice pubs within walking distance and a good base for exploring The Lizard and surrounding beauty spots. The yard was a bit on the small side but this was a minor issue

Ms Klein

The house was nicely decorated. However, the upstairs bathroom didn't have any heat and, as it was freezing while we were there, we were every time we had to use the bathroom. Although the downstairs bathroom had a separate heater, we had to go into an unheated hallway to get there. The main heating kept turning way down so we would wake up during the night freezing. It was not a good house to rent in the wintertime. Also, we arrived and the key, which we had to wriggle out of the box, did not open the internal door so we had to wait for the housekeeper to let us in. Not a great system.

Mr Heath

Very lovely cottage to stay in, in a quiet friendly village. Lovely place to travel to various site seeing places.

Mrs Turner

The old stone workshop is located in a an excellent area of St Kervene, local shop, post office, two great pubs and a superb restaurant called The Greenhouse. Easy access to all areas of Cornwall, some beautiful bays close by and great walks. Would definitely recommend to anyone.

We had a last minute booking to The Old Stone Workshop, the staff in the office were very helpful. We didn't know this area of Cornwall, Nell made us very welcome and suggested places and walk from the cottage. The quiet location was perfect for us, the village is close by. The cottage was just what we needed, i could have stayed longer.
