Reviews

This traditional terraced cottage has glorious sea views and is located right on the South West Coast Path. In fact, your adventure begins as soon as you arrive with a very short walk across the shingle beach and up some granite steps to Bank Cottage. Located in the small fishing village of Porthallow and just a stone's throw from the sea, what more could you ask for a seaside holiday.

The open plan living space makes the most of the outlook, the elevated view from the first floor really has the 'wow' factor and many hours can be enjoyed watching the ever-changing scenery. Even the kitchen has a view, which is bound to be a distraction while cooking. The private roof terrace is just a few steps up and enjoys the sunshine most of the day, you can watch sailing boats pass you by and enjoy summer meals in the balmy sunshine.

The bedrooms offer flexible accommodation and privacy from one another, on the ground floor there's a lovely single and double bedroom at the front of the property where you can listen to the gentle sea as it lulls you to sleep. The main bedroom is on the second floor with a king-size bed, tucked away from winter storms.

Mrs Bonam

We’re very happy with the administration staff at classic cottage. They even remembered my birthday. There was a small box of delicious chocolate waiting for me. Definitely will recommend the company and the cottage to our family & friends

Mrs Page

It was a perfect cottage, marvellous for winter swimming, lovely friendly community and we would thoroughly recommend it. Everything was lovely, especially the views from the window seat. Fabulous pub/restaurant (The Five Pilchards) within walking (or staggering!) distance, we ate there twice. The local tea, coffee and biscuits was a lovely touch. Very good directions to find it too. We will definitely be back!

Mrs Morton

Delightful cottage in the most wonderful location. Villagers very friendly. Daily sea dips fabulous with a stroll from the front door. Coastal path in both directions on doorstep. Drive to any shops so you need to be organised on arrival. Pub sadly shut for September so eating out meant driving if cafe also shut. Loved it. 5 stars ?? ????????

Mrs Painter

Bank Cottage lived up to our expectations. Classic Cottages excellent high standards of cleanliness and attention to detail. Beautiful setting, great views from the rooftop terrace and window seat. lovely little pub for takeaway fish and chips or eat in. Narrow lanes in and out not for the faint hearted, and lots of steep steps up and down so not for anyone who has mobility issues. Would definitely book again we had a fabulous weeks holiday.

Mrs Joyce

Perfect getaway. Highly recommend bank cottage for couples or family. The most beautiful views whatever the weather.

Mrs Bennett

A delightful well appointed cottage with lovely views. Would like to have stayed longer.

Mr Leatherdale

Lovely, homely, comfortable and well equipped cottage with lots of character and quaint touches. Wish the weather had been better so that we could have made full use of the decking. The window seat and views were a joy. Many great walks from here and a very short walk across the beach to the pub which serves great food. We will be back ...

Dr Churchill

Amazing location right on the beach, great for swimming, paddle boarding etc and doesn’t get too busy. Lovely cafe up the road called Fat Apples. The cottage is well equipped and has a lovely view from the living room and roof terrace.

Mrs Monk

Lovely location, weather not so great but still had a comfortable stay at bank cottage. Lovely small village with two good coastal walks either side and plenty to do in the area

Mrs Goulding

We (family of 5 plus a dog) loved Bank Cottage and didn't leave Porthallow the whole time we were there. Fun on the beach and then back for a cosy cuppa with the best view!
