Holly Cottage
Tucked away in the beautiful hamlet of Dunstone in the glorious South Hams you will discover Holly Cottage, a gorgeous getaway dating back to the mid-18th Century. The Grade II Listed thatched cottage retains much of its character and charm throughout and has been lovingly styled and furnished to create a warm welcome, which instantly allows you to relax and enjoy a slower pace of life. Nestled in a wonderful countryside location, the lovely village of Yealmpton is just a few miles away, where you will find the Rose and Crown pub and of course the village shop for holiday essentials.
Step into the semi-detached cottage through the cute stable-door into the spacious and perfectly positioned sitting-room which features stylish antique furniture, luxurious furnishings and a toasty wood-burner set in a grand inglenook granite fireplace. Just the thing for those chillier days! Step up into the light contemporary kitchen and dining space which boasts quartz worktops, integrated appliances and the joy of under-floor heating. The double doors open out to the glorious garden with lovely patio furniture for relaxing with a good book in the sunshine. The shower-room sits to the side of the kitchen, with a fabulous large shower.
Upstairs, you will find the three beautifully styled bedrooms where you can sink into the comfortable beds at the end of the day and wake each morning listening to the soothing sound of bird song. Bliss! Bedroom one is a very pretty single room with views out to the front of the cottage and bedroom two offers a tranquil, relaxing room with a sumptuous bed and more pretty countryside views. Wander up several steps to discover gorgeous bedroom three at the back of the house. The charming family bathroom with sloping ceilings (please take care and mind your head as there is restricted headroom) is also located on this landing and will delight the bath lover of the family, with a luxurious stylish free-standing bath for soaking in after a day of exploring Devon!

Excellent quality cottage and enclosed pretty garden - loved our stay
Ms chalmers
Cottage is fully equipped warm and cosy and close to beaches and other towns.
Mr Harris
Really enjoyed our week here. It's very quiet with only the occasional traffic. The cottage is very well presented and very cosy. We loved the modern extension, the kitchen/dining area being very well equipped and having all we could need. As noted on the website the headroom upstairs is limited in some areas and the stairs might be a problem if your mobility is impaired - top curved section is quite steep/narrow. The garden is very nice and we were charmed by the regular visits of Peter the peacock! However the decking/summerhouse area at the end of the garden was a bit tired and overgrown. It's a very sunny area and some visitors might like to have sun loungers available. Although we weren't bothered, if you needed to work online here the internet connection is very slow - it's just about ok for emails. If you wanted to stream films it wouldn't be feasible. We wouldn't hesitate to book again should we return to this area.
Mr Turrell
Despite poor weather we very much enjoyed our stay at Holly Cottage. It is conveniently located for several National Trust properties. I.e Saltrum, Overbecks and Buckland Abbey. The cottage is tastefully decorated and is well equipped
Mr Smith
Beautiful home in a great location perfect for exploring the South Devon coast. Would come here again
Mrs Mayes
Great well equipped cottage in good position for days at the beach and visiting castles and stately homes. Someone with limited mobility would struggle with stairs. Would definitely stay here again.
Mrs Heath
We had a wonderful week in Holly Cottage. The house is well-appointed and very comfortable, and the location is excellent - close to lots of fantastic beaches and other places to visit.
Dr Bardsley
Holly Cottage is a delight, tucked away down a Devon lane. Beautifully presented and well stocked with provisions. A perfect base from which to explore the surrounding countryside and coast. Classic Cottages interacted professionally.
Ms Janes
A very pretty cottage in a peaceful location with access by car to beautiful beaches, coastal walks local shops and pubs. The garden is a good size with an eating out area, and the modern open plan kitchen/diner extension is bright and we'll equipped.
Mrs Correa
Lovely peaceful cottage. Very quiet location. Comfortable and well equipped. Lovely garden to relax in but we used our camping chairs which were more comfortable to sit in than the wrought iron ones provided. Be prepared for driving on narrow roads, sometimes single track with passing places. Not a problem for us, I grew up in the next village, but if you are not used to these roads it can be a challenge. And Google maps will take you the fastest route!
Mrs Chaston
Very comfortable cottage with everything provided. Perfect location for us. Sloping, low upstairs bathroom ceiling means it's impossible for anyone over 4 ft to stand up over the loo. Also be warned the stairs are steep, uneven and we oldies had to be vigilant not to fall. Our suitcases never made it up the stairs in 6 weeks!
Mrs Chaston
Great location for South Hams exploring. Quiet and very comfortable. Excellently decorated and with a filled larder. BUT not suitable for anyone unused to steep, uneven cottage stairs or with any kind of mobility issue. We thought they were quite hazardous. The upstairs toilet's low sloping ceiling makes it impossible to stand. OK if you don't mind crouching to get to the loo!
Mr Holley
Had a great time-stunning cottage! Really well equipped -everything was high spec/quality. Highly recommend.
Mrs Spencer
We had a wonderful stay at Holly Cottage- it was clean and beautifully presented. We would highly recommend to others. The garden was delightful with a gorgeous patio that was in the evening sun. The owner was clearly keen to provide the best possible stay. It is really well positioned with easy access to the local beaches- Wonwell was a favourite of ours! We would certainly come back to Holly Cottage. Thanks for a wonderful stay.
Mr Mawson
We had a lovely week in Holly Cottage. Really well equipped and beautiful furniture and soft furnishings Really good to have the availability of a pretty garden if the weather was warmer
Mrs Egan

Mr Farnsworth

Miss Semp
This is a beautiful cottage in a sweet location. The garden is very pretty and would be lovely on a sunny day. It has been well and tastefully decorated. It has a well equipped kitchen and comfortable bedrooms. Beware the ceiling height is very low in the bathroom and living room.
Mr Trott
We loved every minute of staying at Holly Cottage. The cottage for us was quite remote but this was a definite positive. Some great beaches nearby for us and our dog to use. The pub was just a 20 minute walk and Albee to use the public footpaths to get most of the way there. The cottage is beautiful and the quality of the furnishings, soft furnishings and all pots and pans, plates and cutlery was first class. We would love to come back to Holly Cottage
