Belle Vue Cottage
Nestled in the village of Rattery, only a short distance from Totnes and the glorious south Devon coast, this beautiful cottage is furnished with real charm and style.
With an enclosed lawn area and outside sitting space, dining al fresco or reading a book whilst basking in the sun is a real pleasure. Once inside this beautiful terraced cottage you are treated to a fabulously styled interior offering comfort and cosiness. The wood-burning stove adds the perfect finish to those chillier nights in, complemented by ultrafast fibre optic broadband, making downloading that family film simple and stress-free.
The south Devon coast is renowned for its golden beaches and bustling seaside towns. A pleasurable car drive will find you at the sandy beaches of Bigbury and Bantham or, in the opposite direction, Broadsands in Paignton. For those who are not a fan of sand, you have the fabulous pebble beach of Blackpool Sands; the glorious south Devon coast really does cater for everyone.
Or perhaps a day enjoying the hustle and bustle of the nearby town of Totnes sounds appealing, not forgetting that the breathtaking moors of Dartmoor are right on your doorstep, there really is so much to see and do in this fabulous location.
Alternatively, perhaps enjoying a spot of dining al fresco in your private enclosed garden with a stroll to the pub afterwards to top things off sounds more like it, with the award-winning Church House Inn within walking distance, it would be a shame not to visit at least once!

Belle Vue cottage is one of our favourite places to stay, this was our second visit, and it won't be our last. It feels like home from stepping in the front door. We are from Devon and this cottage is a true reflection of rural Devon life, peaceful, cozy, and a real qwerky beautiful place. I would highly recommend to any who wish to try a real Devon experience, just remember clotted cream then jam on your scones. The cleaning company left us some flowers and biscuits as a welcome gift, they had cleaned to a high standard. Rumor restaurant and the Totnes Cinem make for a fantastic evening out. But the local pub is the perfect place and so close. Our favourite place.

17/2-9/3 2024 The cottage is a true reflection of Devon village life, cozy and cute with loads of beautiful features reflecting its age. It is decorated to a high standard and contains everything you could possibly need for a perfect rural retreat. It is close to Totnes, Dartington and Dartmoor to name but a few places. Highly recommend a visit to this calm and relaxing haven. A home from home. The pub just a two minute walk away is the icing on the cake.
Mrs Scotchbrook
Belle Vue is a beautiful cottage located in a small courtyard. It is spotlessly clean and very well appointed with a queen size bed in the main bedroom which was extremely comfortable. The instructions for getting in were clear. There is a 24/7 housekeeping contact in the information file if needed. We had a very enjoyable holiday in the South Hams. Would thoroughly recommend the Church House Inn in the village for food and atmosphere.
Miss Goodsir
This property is in a brilliant location, quiet and peaceful while easy to access Dartmoor, the coast and the central main roads of Devon. Well equipped kitchen, comfy bed, clean and bright bathroom. Nicely decorated.
Mrs Quick
We loved this cottage because of its central location for Dartmoor, Totnes and the coast. The local pub provides good food and local ale and is a 2 minute walk. It is very peaceful.
Mrs Macleod
This cottage looked lovely in the photos and even better in reality. Comfy rooms and cosy fire. It was very handy for sightseeing around Devon and lovely to relax in the evenings. Local pub is handy with delicious food and beers. Parking in the garage is a must if you don’t have a tiny car. We soon got the hang of it - reversing up the lane. We loved it and would recommend this place to others.
Ms Ellis
Pretty cottage, best for summer as very dark, useful location in a tiny village with a good pub, clean and tidy. Not easy for stays with dogs.
Mrs Forde
The website was pretty easy to use. I was able to enter all of our requirements and the cottage we chose was perfect.
Mr Neale
We booked this amazing cottage only the day before we arrived, we couldn't believe just how lovely it was. It had everything we needed and more. The milk and biscuits were a nice touch. The village of Rattery is so peaceful and pretty. lots of Thatched cottages. The Church House Inn (only 50 yards from the cottage) is absolutely excellent. The food amazing. We would definitely like to return one day.
Mrs Cunningham
A fantastic cottage, extremely comfortable and welcoming. A great location for both the beaches and the Moors and to fully enjoy all that Devon has to offer.
Mrs Ellis
A comfortable and pretty cottage that’s well equipped. The garden not being attached to the cottage was a bit of a problem with our dog. Lovely and quiet, and the local pub was very good. Easy access to Totness.
Mrs Watson
Good location and peaceful cottage. The garage was bigger than we expected and will fit a BMW 3 series but the turning circle is a bit tight so need someone to help guide you in. Best to park in the pub car park as the locals protective over parking spaces. Pub food very good standard and dog friendly. Make sure you have enough time dry washing as this has to go on a clothes airer as no washing line.
Miss Appleton
Fantastic cottage, great location (pub up the road is amazing). Really well stocked and thought out. Bed huge and comfortable! Fire was lovely to warm up by during our slightly rainy autumnal stay. We had a blast and would not hesitate to recommend.
Reverend Burgess
Good accommodation well presented but parking difficult.
Ms Horgan
Great base to explore South Devon The kitchen equipment / appliances are all to a very high standard So comfortable and peaceful - the only noise is that of the birds in the morning Beautiful cottage
Mrs Roberts
Belle Vue Cottage was exactly what we had hoped for - it felt like a proper escape to the country. The area is very quiet with a Village Hall and good pub a 5 mins walk away. Rattery is set within rolling hills and is very peaceful but only a short drive from the town of Totnes or the nearest village South Brent (which has a dog groomers and lovely local deli). The cottage is newly decorated and equipped to a high standard with lovely finishing touches. We had an Audi Q3 and this was a bit too big for the drive/parking area and garage so we kept our car in the pub car park up the road however there are also spaces along the lane around the corner of the cottage. Belle Vue gave us the opportunity to totally switch off and unwind in comfort and we would highly recommend it.
Mrs Brady
We had a lovely stay in this very pretty cottage, well located for the local pub and the A38. Parking was tricky but we managed to get our large car into the garage. This would be a lovely place to stay at any time of year, fast internet a real bonus.
