Sandpiper
This delightful house has marvellous views across the Teign estuary from the enclosed patio and garden, and from almost every room in the house.
For those wanting to relax, this is the perfect spot to completely unwind, lingering over coffee or a glass of wine as you watch the estuary change from hour to hour and tide to tide. The garden makes the ideal space for little ones to let off steam, whilst you while away the hours, whatever the weather, sitting comfortably on the sofa in your beautiful open plan living-room or dining al fresco on your raised patio.
Inside, Sandpiper is super inviting from the glorious open plan living areas and spacious and well-equipped kitchen to the sumptuous bedrooms, two of which have en suite access.
If you can tear yourself away from this magical spot and equally stunning cottage, the beautiful village of Shaldon is only a short stroll away. Boasting several cafes, welcoming pubs and restaurants, this delightful village offers such a relaxing and enjoyable day out. For the little ones, the fabulous sandy beach makes for a great day in the sun.

Mr Hinton
This is a stunning house, gardens and views - we had a beautiful week. It is in a fantastic location with views that the house maximises to the full and it was such a great part of the week. We barely used the car as there is so much to enjoy on the door step, and across the bay too.
Mrs Jenkins
An amazingly beautiful and luxurious property with everything included for a wonderful holiday. The view of the Teign estuary, sea and Teignmouth is to die for! Whatever the weather, it was a relaxing experience to just watch the activity below from the comfort of inside or on the balcony above the pretty garden.
Mr Jacobsen
Lovely house, beautiful position, clean and comfortable. Great panoramic views. Shaldon is a quiet seaside gem.
Mr Jacobsen
Lovely property with gorgeous views over the estuary and sea. Well equipped, warm and comfortable. If you're not fit, it's a steep walk up the hill to the house from the village.
Mrs Sands
Sandpiper has to be one of the best holiday cottages we’ve ever stayed in. The view from the lounge is breathtaking. We found the house comfortable, homely and welcoming. It’s conveniently situated for Shaldon which is such a lovely little town and so well-placed for exploring the area. We spent some lovely early mornings walking the dog around the botanical gardens which are on your doorstep. They are beautifully maintained with a fascinating history. Sandpiper is a gem of a place and we fully intend to return.
Mrs Johnston
A gem of a property, stunning views with access to many attractions including pubs, restaurants and kayaking. Wonderful for children with the beach just across the road as well as the botanical gardens and zoo.
Dr Golby
Main attraction was the expansive views, and they didn't disappoint. Thank goodness as I broke my ankle just before our trip so spent an awful lot of time admiring them! Binoculars were a nice touch.
Mrs George
The wonderful views and the perfect furnishings and decor are unsurpassed
Ms Poultney
The view was amazing, always something to watch. Great to have a parking space at the property. Clean and well presented.
Mrs Porter
We loved our stay at Sandpiper. What a beautiful house in an amazing location. The views were awesome and Shaldon as always very friendly with lots going on over Christmas. Hope to be back
Miss Childs
Amazing cottage with gorgeous views. The house was beautiful and so well kept and spotlessly clean. So happy with are stay and will definitely be back.
Miss Thompson
Stunning cottage, incredible location. Has everything you need provided. Just wonderful.
Mr Richards
I'd book this again for the view across to Teignmouth alone and it was good to have the house binoculars there too! The open plan living space makes the most of the daylight which pours through the window that runs the entire north elevation of the living/dining/kitchen area. The proximity to the village centre is a bonus with its bakery, butcher, pubs and cafes. There is good walking nearby, a charming small zoo, a botanical garden over the road and you can get to the foot passenger ferry to Teignmouth in a couple of minutes.
Mr Southam
Lovely house and location. Would love to return in 2023 but just too expensive.
Mrs Stimson
Our party of 3 stayed at Sandpiper in June 2022. One of the first things to greet us on arrival was the view and what a view. The comings and goings on the estuary and sea were a highlight of our stay. The cottage is very spacious, comfortable and really well equipped. The short walk to the beach, little shops and places to eat was a bonus even though it was uphill coming back ! We really enjoyed our holiday.
Mrs Holding
Think you should mention the steps down to property for older people 82years old myself
Mr Gardener
Lovely cottage with wrap around views from the main bedroom and all the ground floor. Very high quality furnishings and kitchen well equipped for large groups. Parking space behind cottage which easily fit one family car and I expect it could manage two small ones if needed. Shaldon was a bit sleepy in April but there were a couple of cafes and pubs open, although some not every day. Village store open every day for the basics (including some wine!). Cakes from the bakers are great. The Clipper cafe was lovely, had two very nice meals there overlooking the River, very friendly staff. Very picturesque and unspoilt little town.
Mrs George
On our arrival the amazing panoramic views from 4 large picture windows, taking in the Teign bridge to the coastline ending in Hampshire took our breath away.
Mrs Conduit
Nice place with a superb vista. Good local amenities for a small village. Unfortunately we will not be returning as the price is too much even during what used to be “out of season”. Also disappointed with a pint of milk and seven biscuits representing a Welcome Pack !!!
Mr GALOPHE
This property is perfect in all angles: it’s only a 2 minute walk to the nearest beach, in the heart of beautiful Shaldon, lovely welcoming neighbours, everything you need in the kitchen for a Christmas feast, well equipped laundry room with back access for muddy shoes and wet over trousers, clean and contemporary inside design and decoration, clean and modern bathrooms, stunning views in all weathers and last but not least very comfortable beds! I HIGHLY recommend! We were there for a week with two young children and grandparents and we felt at home and with enough sense of privacy.
Mrs gregory
Extremely well equipped. Fantastic views over the Estuary. Efficient heating system, cosy and warm. Super clean with excellent furnishings. Convenient location. We very much enjoyed our Autumn stay in Sandpiper.
Mr Endacott
Panorama views across to Teignmouth and up the estuary are just delightful.
Mrs Raftery
The kitchen was very well equipped.
Mr Goncalves
For sure will book again the property
