The Lodge

We had a very comfortable stay in this beautiful house. It exceeded expectations. It is beautifully designed and decorated and felt very luxurious. The cabin was an extra special touch. We managed to use it a little in December but can imagine it would get a lot of use in warmer months. Highly recommend. ??

A really comfortable and beautifully designed house away from it all.

A wonderful retreat Anyone wishing to get completely away from the hub of city life will find The Lodge absolutely perfect. We were a multigenerational party and my grandchildren loved the big garden with plenty of room to play. The grown ups were completely drawn to the wonderful Cabin which was beautifully furnished with a log burner and wine fridge! Chilling out there in the late evening with a glass of wine, listening to the haunting sounds of buzzards and owls was intoxicating.

Very nice and well equiped house. Beautiful garden and quiet environment. Ideally located between Dartmoor and the coast.

We downloaded the OS hiking map of the area and whilst some definitely not for pushchairs it helped us navigate several different routes to Kingsbridge and the surrounding area The house is in a great secluded location. The weather during our staying was typically British but the variety of spaces indoors and out meant we always had plenty of family space and quieter corners. The house is well equipped and comfortable. We had a wonderful time celebrating a big family birthday and we’re hoping to return in the future.

The Lodge is a very comfortable place to spend time in rural Devon, it is accessed via narrow lanes and set amongst beautiful unspoilt countryside. The accomodation is very comfortable and there are plenty of areas in the house for several family activities to take place concurrently.

This was our 2nd visit to this cottage. Our now, teenage daughters requested to visit again as we loved it so much the first time around. We loved the new additions with the annex and the cabin which make the most of those fabulous views. The WIFI can be hit and miss which is fine if you want to completely switch everything off and just enjoy the surroundings however, it is something to be aware of as it is exceptionally slow and there is no connection in the annexe, which the teenagers struggled with more than us! Despite the poor weather we experienced whilst in Devon, we would not hesitate to revisit in the future.

Fabulous ‘away from it all’ luxurious stay, our new favourite.

The Lodge provided a beautiful base for our family Christmas holiday with its wonderful interior decor and fitments. The cabin and summer house in the garden were an impressive addition the main house and enjoyed by all.

We had a great stay here with plenty of room for 6 adults, 2 children and a toddler The annex and cabin are delightful and Charlie and team were very efficient and helpful with our pre-planning. Be warned the approach lane is extremely narrow, single track with only a few passing places, if you’re not used to such driving conditions it can be a bit stressful initially

Wonderful property in peaceful location with amazing views. The cabin was a real hit with the log burner on wet days. The garden is wonderful and great for exploring toddlers. The decor and bathrooms are lovely. All I all a great extended family week.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Lodge. The house is comfortable and well-equipped and a perfect place for multi-generational families to stay and enjoy special times together. The garden is big enough for outdoor games and our grandchildren very much enjoyed exploring outside. As the oldest generation, we ‘bagged’ the annex which was very luxurious and it was lovely to have our own space when we wanted it. Overall, a beautiful property in a beautiful part of Devon - highly recommended!

A fabulous place to get away from it all!

A very enjoyable stay. The whole place met expectations & more, quiet, well appointed, up to together & well furnished. Everything you need and more - great fixtures & fittings. The Lodge has an amazing view, a peaceful ambience and an abundance of character. Dogs both enjoyed the very large garden and the variety of good local walking spots. In summary old & new combining seamlessly into a great few days away - thank you.

Our 3 families and 2 dogs had a wonderful week at The Lodge. The property is set in a beautiful location, with stunning views across the valley. The house is faultless, with every amenity taken care of. The interiors of every room are amazing. The kitchen, patio, summer room/deck and annex patio are all lovely areas to chill out in during the day and evenings. Will recommend to family and friends.

A fantastic place to stay with stunning views. The main house is great for families and if grandparents are coming too (as they did with us), the annex is spot on. Helpful little laundry room too, essential for little ones that get muddy easily! The dining room/main part of lodge is a highlight with its high ceiling and window in the roof atop the impressive spiral lights. We’d definitely book again and recommend to others.

A large comfortable house in a beautiful location to spend Christmas. The lodge, gardens and annexe made our stay perfect with enough space for a multi generational family and two dogs to spread out with ease and come together to enjoy the dining and kitchen areas together. The lounge is a little small to seat everyone comfortably but we moved a few chairs around so not a big problem. The bedrooms and bathrooms were really comfortable and well furnished.

We had a lovely holiday. The property was great and we loved the summerhouse. The weather was fantastic for November and we sat out in the summerhouse most evenings , lovely playing games with the family with the log burner to keep the chill away. Well equipped kitchen and lots of space for people. Lovely character lodge , very happy with the accommodation definitely recommend. Great area to explore. Loved Salcombe and visited Plymouth …great Aquarium and had nice day out Babbacombe model village / Torquay

Wish I had booked for 3 weeks. Stunning, comfortable, spacious. Quality everywhere. The lanes are not for the fainthearted!! Would definitely stay again. Will be recommending to family and friends

A beautiful house, very comfortable and extremely well equipped. The situation is a couple of miles away from the main road system down country lanes, so great for couples and families looking for quiet seclusion.

The Lodge is located in a beautiful spot with amazing views over the valley. The rooms are all very comfortable and everything worked well for us. If the weather is poor the log burners make for a lovely treat and if it's sunny the patio is a wonderful place to sit and enjoy a coffee or glass of wine. There is lots to do and see around the lodge and we especially enjoyed Dartmouth, Kingsbridge, Salcombe and Burgh Island.

The house has been beautifully decorated. It is a stunning property and we loved staying here. We had a great time and it was perfectly located for us to explore all the area. The garden room is really cute and a lovely place to admire the gorgeous view.

An absolutely superb cottage for getting away from it all. The range of accommodation is excellent and gives great flexibility. Above all, the position is wonderful with beautiful views and sense of peace and quiet is tangible.

This property is in a stunning location with wonderful views of the countryside. It is a beautiful property, however, very much style over substance. We felt it should have been 100% perfect for the price we paid and it was not.

Location is superb- short drive to so many beaches. Garden was a nightlight with the children and the grown ups loved the snug in the garden. The cottage was gorgeous and comfortable. We enjoyed warming up in front of the fires in the lounge.

If you are looking for an oasis of serenity, breathtaking scenery, a house that is beautifully presented and has everything and more than you could possibly ever need, then this is the place to stay. We had such a wonderful time and we are still talking about it wishing we were still there. We will definitely be revisiting.

We had an amazing stay at The Lodge , the scenery and surrounding area was breathtakingly beautiful and the lodge was equipped to an very high standard. The location is a little off the beaten track which may not suit everyone but if you want to peace and quiet then it is perfect and we found a little corner of heaven. We will certainly book with classic again thank you

Wonderful week in a gorgeous location. This lodge was a real treat to stay in with gorgeous views in a quiet location. It's worth being aware that the garden (although gorgeous) is not enclosed so perhaps not approriate for all dogs if they like to explore!

A really lovely place to stay. The rooms are really comfortable but it’s the garden and surroundings that win the awards. I could have sat in the patio listening to the wood pigeons all day every day.

The cottage was fantastic, I fell in love with the area & we were even looking at places to buy! The cottage was like home from home and we all felt so comfortable. It was clean & fresh, all rooms looked like they had only just been decorated. Just a fantastic place to stay. We will definitely be back!

We loved the decoration and furnishings in the house, it felt like a real treat to stay there. The owner had obviously really thought about every detail, the house was so well equipped. We especially enjoyed the views across the hills from the kitchen, the board games, fire pit in the garden, and cosying up in the lodge with the log fires. The children loved finding a little gift for each of them on arrival, they felt very happy and comfortable in the house.
