The Granary is a delightfully furnished barn conversion nestled in the hamlet of Goveton near Kingsbridge. Located in the rolling South Hams countryside, this fabulous terraced barn and its magical location make for the perfect relaxing and peaceful break. Walking, exploring and enjoying your stunning surroundings is made easy with numerous walks and trails. Exploring the south Devon coastline is a must, however, for those who seek sand and sea, you are only within a short car journey from some of the most fabulous beaches, Bantham, Bigbury-on-Sea and Slapton Sands to name a few.

Returning to The Granary after a full day of adventure is such a welcomed treat. The living areas offer style, space and comfort, and all bedrooms offer quality en suite facilities, three with bath/shower-rooms and one with a cloakroom, ideal for unwinding after an action-packed day. Or step out of the barn into your fully enclosed garden, spark up the barbecue and dine al fresco in this delightful spot. This is a real treat, especially as the star gazing is second to none due to the lack of light pollution in this area - catching sight of a shooting star or three is the perfect end to the day.

Mrs Kargl

A beautifully decorated, cosy cottage. Really comfortable beds, high-quality fittings and furniture, beautiful rural surroundings- so peaceful! We loved the area - so much to discover and enjoy all within 30 minutes’ drive- beaches, cafes, chilli farm, jewellery, art, yoga, paddle boarding, golf, shopping, fish restaurants…!

Mrs Crook-Mcdonough

We enjoyed our family holiday at The Granary. Set in a secluded hamlet, it was very peaceful with lots to see and do nearby. We visited a different beach every day with our 3 year old grandson in mostly dry weather!

Mrs Jess

The Granary is a very comfortable house in a very rural location. The farm buildings have been converted into 21 separate homes and only 4 are holiday lets meaning the rest are lived in all year round. It looks lovely and is perfect if you like your holidays to be very, very quiet. There is just no-one around apart from the odd resident making a trip to the bins. We were with a 6-year-old and felt a bit uncomfortable when she rode round the courtyard on her scooter - I think with more than one child it would have been very stressful to keep them quiet. Regarding the house, it’s quite tricky to get your head round the layout from the description as it is set across 3 floors with the kitchen and one bedroom being on the same level as the inner courtyard, the sitting room and a second bedroom one floor up with level access to the private garden and therefore BBQ, and the remaining bedrooms on the top floor. The small paved area in front of the kitchen gets the morning sun and we took to sitting out there although we were in full view of all the other properties. There was no sun in the rear garden so didn’t sit out there in the evening and to be honest couldn’t face traipsing up and down the stairs to do BBQs. It is a very nice house but you need to be aware of its layout and location and make sure it suits your family.

Mrs Wells

The Granary was well furnished, clean and very comfortable. There was plenty of room for our party of eight. The kitchen was well equipped for cooking proper meals.

Mrs Dunkley

lovely setting in former model farm, the surrounding grounds were immaculate A car definitely needed

Sir Hall

Enjoyed our stay very much. Lovely property. Very dog friendly.

Miss Dunn

Great cottage in fab location Some of the beds are quite hard so be prepared if you like a soft mattress Lots great kitchen gadgets, books and games available. Will stay again

Mrs Gifford

Hugely overpriced for a disappointing standard.

Miss Gomm

Beautiful cottage in a lovely, peaceful location. The cottage had all we needed and more. Lots to see and do nearby, spoilt for choice could have happily stayed longer.

Mrs Spencer

A wonderful week in a beautiful cottage. Ideal for a family holiday in a great location and within easy reach of many lovely places. We were a family of four adults two children and a dog and found it very spacious and comfortable. Very well furnished with good quality equipment. Would highly recommend Have been in several classic cottages and they all come up to expectation and thank you

Mrs King

As one of our party was elderly we found the fact that the kitchen was on the ground floor with the lounge upstairs was not very easy .

Mrs Mansfield

The Granary is a really lovely place to stay. The roads are very narrow to get to it but it’s worth it for the peace and quiet. It’s very good for dogs and the surrounding countryside I’d beautiful. A visit to the church at the top of the hill is a must. I’m very envious of the people who live there

Ms Jones

great accommodation & very interesting location/set-up, close to many lovely places to visit

Mrs Watson

Lovely cottage in quiet rural surroundings. Spacious, modern with all comforts catered for. Highly recommended.

Mr Soane

Beautiful and very well-appointed cottage - ideal for family holidays and exploring South Devon. Lots of space to let large groups and families spread out, and come together in the very well kitted out kitchen and dining room and around the barbecue. We were a large group (2 adults and 4 kids aged 15-17) and we had a wonderful time. We would certainly recommend this cottage!

Mrs Jones

We had a lovely two weeks at The Granary. It is in a delightful spot with easy reach of various beaches navigating the narrow Devon lanes! It is a very comfortable house with the added bonus of 3 big bedrooms with 2 super king beds and One king size all with en suites which isn’t easy to find in other properties. We hope to return again next year.

Mrs Kemp

If you are looking for peace and quiet and dark skies, this is the place for you. Very comfortable beds and furnishings in general and good range of kitchen equipment. Stunning scenery with good pubs close by, also excellent walking country for both humans and dogs. Nearby Kingsbridge is a gem.

Mrs Owen

A beautiful house with plenty of room for six people, in a very peaceful location.
