Mr Buswell
What a wonderful experience staying at Pooks Cottage. It was our home away from home for a few days. We travelled from Canada to experience the Devon Coast. We were warm and cosy and so comfortable with all the amenities the cottage offered. It was a step back in time yet refurbished so excellently. Thank you for making our Devon experience the best it could be.
Mrs Hill
Pooks Hill Cottage is absolutely beautiful a real little gem. It was very cosy, spotlessly clean and everything you could need was provided. It is in a fabulous location close to local beaches and the village pub , a two minute walk away serving lovely food. Would definitely recommend both the property and booking with Classic Cottages five star. We would love to return for another holiday.
Mr Phelan
Charming cottage, very homely and comfortable. Lovely beach nearby and within a few minutes drive of two towns with plenty of amenities.
Mrs Harper
Pooks Hill Cottage is a delightful, cosy spot for a quiet get away. The pub is 2 mins away, but other than that there isn’t much within close walking distance so a car is a must to explore the area. We enjoyed several walks nearby. It takes about 30-40 mins to walk into Teignmouth. You can make a round trip - through fields one way and back along the sea wall. We can recommend Teign Bean for a great coffee.
Mrs Nicholson
Cosy cottage with everything we needed. Very good pub few hundred yards up the road, good location for coastal path walks. Handy local bus service nearby.
Mr Hull
Wonderful location, great pub up the road 1 minute walk, and the town of Dawlish was fabulous, an easy walk.
Mrs Hopkins
This property is very well maintained and equipped but it’s in a very small village with no shops nearby It does have a pub and a church.
Mrs Wilkins
Lovely quaint cottage in beautiful quiet hamlet location. Cosy lounge with good seating and the bed was so comfortable with a good sized powerful shower. Cottage garden caught the sun in the mornings but in shade in the afternoon. Plenty of everything which made for a very enjoyable stay. Very handy having a pub just yards away from the cottage which served good quality food with friendly staff. Handy location off main road between Dawlish and Teignmouth.
Mr Harrison
My wife and I stayed at Pook's Hill Cottage for five days at the end of October. The weather was not particularly welcoming, but we were cosy and comfortable here. Unfortunately we did not have much of chance to see the countryside. However we did get to the Castle Inn in the village for dinner a couple of times: on the Thursday evening it was full and the food was excellent. On the following Monday it was a disappointment. There was no disappointment with the cottage - we really loved it. And the service from Classic Cottages was faultless. Gerry and Ellie Harrison

If you are looking for a cottage, typically English, full of charm, very well equipped, both in terms of kitchen and leisure elements, (TV for all requirements, books, ... etc'..). This cottage is ideal. It is also close to seaside towns, delightful little towns and Exeter.
Mr Clauson
Lovely cottage in a beautiful area, perfect in every way, will book again very soon.
Mr Raggio
Five. Star.
Mr Simmons
Pooks hill cottage is absolutely fantastic for couples. It is definitely one of the nicest cottages we have ever stayed in. Absolutely spotlessly clean with everything you could need during your stay. It is a beautiful cottage inside and out. My only negative point is that at the time of year that we went, it was quite cold and it is hard to get it warm inside. The heater didn't give out much heat. Will definitely go here again but maybe in the warmer months. A beautiful cottage, well equipped, spotlessly clean and in a beautiful little village. A perfect base to explore the surrounding towns and villages of south Devon.
Mrs Armstrong
We had the most amazing time in pooks hill cottage. We are waiting for flights to be available so we can book again. Never have we felt so at home while on holiday. Highly recommended.

A picture postcard cottage, ideal for a couple, in a very convenient location, with an excellent pub a short stroll away.
Ms Reynolds
What a wonderful cottage , everything just as expected, furnished to a high standard, great for your 4 legged friends as the gorgeous cottage garden is enclosed, we will return for sure.
Mrs Houlton
Lovely well equipped cottage in pretty location. Very handy for getting around. Only 10 min walk to a lovely bay at Holcombe beach. Handy pub just around the corner ( managed to get gluten free food)
Mr Mann
A very well-maintained traditional thatched cottage with an excellently-equipped kitchen. Quiet village location with friendly pub close by, and Dawlish is just around 1 mile away for amenities and shops. We very much enjoyed our stay. Be warned that all the door are small and doorframes are low due to the age and style of the property so this may not be ideal for taller renters !
Ms Hacking
Everything about this cottage was beautiful and perfect, really didn't want to leave
Mr Batt
Pooks Cottage is so full of charm in a stunning Devonshire Village with the classic chocolate box look with the quirky layout inside which adds a special charm about the place. All modern Amenities for your comfort, along with amazing comfy sofas and bed! Be prepared to duck through some of the doorways, we didn’t bang our heads once so you soon get used to it.
Mrs Jones
Our week at Pooks Hill cottage was perfect from start to finish Classic Cottages looked after us fully with booking to keep us updated . Such a tranquil village perfect cottage not far from anywhere for visiting the beautiful beaches we absolutely loved our stay and definitely be booking again highly reccomended
Mr Peck
What a lovely cottage, cannot recommend it highly enough! It suited us as we wanted somewhere quiet but close to amenities and walks. The Castle Inn at the top of the hill was very friendly and welcoming with excellent food and beer. Dawlish was a lovely little town but Teignmouth and Shaldon had more to offer, enjoy the ferry ride across the Teign.
Mrs Taylor
We had a fabulous week at Pooks Hill Cottage. The village is very quiet and relaxing with a lovely pub called the Castle situated at the top of the road, about a 3 minute walk. The Cottage is mmaculate, comfortable and very clean and wonderfully kitted out . The garden is very quaint, private and a sun trap is the afternoon. Its everything we expected and more. Thank you.
Mrs Rainthorpe
A beautiful 300 year old cottage full of old English charm and nice and roomy for a one bedroom place. Set in a beautiful village with other thatched properties, a pub within a few yards and very close to Dawlish and Teignmouth. A lot of thought had gone into making this an outstanding holiday rental. Charming and secluded garden
Mr Cordell
The cottage was wonderful and we did enjoy our stay and the pub was great , the only was the hills were very testing.
Mrs Koster
We had a very comfortable and cosy stay at Pooks! I would certainly recommend this property. The pub just up the hill was a wonderful added comfort.
Mr Nichols
Beautiful!
Mr Lunt
High quality comfortable accommodation. Felt like home.
Mr Reed
Pooks cottage is a beautiful Thached cottage in a lovely village. Traffic does pass by the front door and the street is narrow. But the stable door can be left shut at the bottom for safety of dogs and children when indoors. A drive of about 20 minutes can take you to lovely almost deserted beaches (off season) that are dog friendly. Visit the Thached Taven at Maidencolmbe for a lovely meal and take your dog too. Enjoy.
Mr Horner
Lovely cottage in a great location with excellent coastal access and plenty of public transportation if required. Friendly village and a good local Inn.
Mrs Fowler
A very warm and cosy cottage with lovely decor hope to return at some point.
Mr Lewis
A very comfortable stay. Pools cottage is a lovely quaint, but surprisingly spacious cottage situated in a very pleasant little village. Easy walking distance to both Dawlish and Teignmouth. The local pub is welcoming and serves good, simple wholesome food. The cottage is well equipped, has nice quality linens etc. Plenty of hot water on demand. Wonderful to see a sparklingly clean shower - no black “bits” in corners. The heating system very responsive so made it easy to stay cosy on the chilly evenings. Would readily recommend.
Miss Roberts
A very quaint and comfortable cottage, well equipped and full of character. I loved being able to walk to the beach with my dog.
MRS BRENNAN
Please make it clear that unless you have a small car parking is a problem
