The Qube
Welcome to The Qube. This stylish yet welcoming holiday retreat is perfectly located within a stone's throw of the beach, offering a great outdoor space coupled with super stylish interiors, it will leave you returning year after year. This fabulous property has been furnished to the highest of standards, has oodles of space and comfort within, whilst offering two separate lounging areas outside. Enjoy a barbecue on the raised decked area or pop up to the rooftop terrace to enjoy a spot of sunbathing on the loungers provided.
The superb location of this wonderful house ensures that you will want for nothing. Within minutes (on foot) you are on the stunning sandy Challaborough beach. With a popular and welcoming pub perched nearby, a beach shop and convenience store within a short walk from your door and an excellent fish and chip shop for extra convenience, you can abandon the car and truly unwind and relax in this magical spot, knowing all the holiday amenities and attractions are at your fingertips.
However, exploring this magical coastline is a must. The village of Bigbury-on-Sea is just a 10 minute walk via the coastal path. Here you will find another beautiful sandy beach and famous Burgh Island. At low tide you can soak in the views on extensive Bantham beach, popular for its surfing. Once the tide rolls in, you can enjoy a ride over to Burgh Island on the popular sea tractor – the little ones will love it! Taking the coastal path in the opposite direction you will find various coves such as Ayrmer Cove that are utterly breathtaking.
You have so much to see and do on your doorstep, it seems a shame to venture out, however to truly experience the beauty and splendour of the South Hams, we highly recommend you take a day or two to explore this fabulous part of the world. Heading out in any direction will quickly find you at many of south Devon's hotspots and 'must visit' villages and towns, Kingsbridge, Salcombe and Dartmouth to name a few. You really are spoilt for choice.
The Qube is a fabulous retreat for that special holiday or occasion. Nestled perfectly on the fringes of Challaborough, which is a hub of activity itself. Challaborough offers the ideal coastal location for the homes which are scattered around this breathtaking coastline, along with the caravan holiday complex which is centrally located. Once you are within the gated area of The Qube, prepare to be wowed and excited by the fabulous property which awaits.

We had an amazing time at the Qube , it had everything we could possibly need and more! The road in was very narrow and perhaps a little too exciting. But as the house was so lovely we didn’t feel the need to leave it until we went home.
Mr Boyle
A well furnished and equipped property with the addition of decking space and great roof terrace. Situated close to the beaches and within easy access to the coastal path and walks to Burgh island. A great location to use as a base for exploring south Devon.
Mrs Turner
Lovely very modern spacious upside down house with outside space and gas BBQ, the kitchen area is excellent. Bear in mind it’s actually in Challaborough and not Bigbury-on-Sea. Bigbury-on-Sea has a beautiful dog friendly beach. Challaborough beach only allows dogs out of season. But you can walk into Bigbury-on-Sea via the coastal path which takes about 15 minutes.
Mrs Henderson
The Qube is a great property….we spent a lovely week with our family…three generations with plenty of space for everyone!! Just a 2 min walk to the beach was a real plus and with other wonderful beaches and walks nearby we hardly used the car! The youngsters joined a three day surfing class at Bigbury which they loved and Nanna and Grandad were treated to an amazing afternoon tea at the Burgh Island Hotel…complete with tractor ride!! We can thoroughly recommend choosing the Qube !
Mrs Saffin
Lovely place to stay if you want peace and quiet in the winter months. Beautiful walks, stunning scenery, fantastic dog friendly beaches.
Mrs Lee
We had a great time staying at The Qube. We had 4 teenagers with us and they really liked the place. Sadly we didn't have great weather but I can imagine that the outside space would be fantastic in the hotter weather. The barbecue is great and the layout of the kitchen and outside space is ideal. The location is brilliant - short walk to the shop, pub, beach and fish and chip shop. The house is lovely and modern and really bright. Very enjoyable stay!
Mrs Jones
The most fantastic property in a great location. Could not have been better! Enjoyed by all our family (including 3 older teenagers!) Lots to do around the area including great restaurants. We would highly recommend this property and area

There are 12 Qubes. They all look into each other and the views are of caravans. The photos on the website do not reflect the location at all. This is not Bigbury. It’s challaborough Bay. The beach is lovely as is the surrounding area. The property is comfortable but be aware that it’s a goldfish bowl and you can’t open windows for air!
Mr Fraser
The Qube is a comfortable and fairly well equipped house, a very short walk from the lovely beach at Challaborough. We enjoyed our stay with our 3 sons, helped by good weather and the excellent location for access to the beach. The house is one of a row of around 12 houses in a secure modern development with gated access. The houses are separated by the driveways, which have space for 3 cars parked end-to-end (last in, first out) and the decked area which looks down the driveway towards the neighbouring holiday park, which also provides the vista from the large windows to the front. There is no outside storage for bikes and boards, so be prepared to carry bikes through the house, up the stairs and lock them to the metal stairs to the roof terrace if you’re not prepared to risk leaving them out front. We found the house to be clean and fairly well equipped with plenty of crockery, cutlery and decent quality pans - even a knife sharpener. The gas BBQ is very good, with plenty of gas supplies. The large induction job didn’t get much use, but worked well for what little indoor cooking we did. A coffee machine would have been a welcome addition - we found a small cafetière, but we couldn’t find the espresso maker that features in the pictures so if you enjoy a good coffee I’d suggest bringing your own (if it’s ok for an induction hob) and some grounds to use. Considering the location, we ordered a supermarket delivery for the evening we arrived with food of a family of 5 for the week to avoid needing to go in and out for supplies. There’s a standard under-counter size fridge and separate freezer and a good size drinks fridge, which we were glad of as we’d have been a bit tight on fridge space without. Washer/drier and dishwasher were welcome, and a few tablets for each were provided. A welcome pack with tin of instant coffee, box of PG Tips, some milk and, slightly unusually, a box of Toffiffee was provided - I don’t recommend dunking the Toffiffee! (or eating then at all if, like one of our party, you have a nut allergy). The NISA in Challaborough is 5 mins walk away and pretty well stocked for odds and ends, bits and bobs for the beach and souvenirs, but I wouldn’t rely on it for fresh produce. It closes at 7pm, so if you’re arriving late make sure you bring what you need. The furniture for the most part is stylish and in good condition; I would call it comfortable and functional, rather than luxurious. Maybe it’s just that the all-white minimalist look isn’t really to my taste, but it felt a bit sparse, especially in the bedrooms downstairs. For example, the master bedroom had one bedside table, not two as pictured, and a metal and plastic folding chair for dressing; as far as I recall the other bedrooms had no chairs at all. It also seemed a bit odd to have a massive TV in one bedroom but none in the master. Other reviews have mentioned the roads coming in to the house. We stayed in peak season and had no

This is a fantastic holiday property.....it was a real treat to stay in and the quality of everything in the Qube is first class. Less than a 5 minute walk to Challaborough Bay beach and some nice walks on the doorstep, with Burgh Island and more beaches within easy walking distance. I would recommend booking any local pubs/meals well in advance of arriving and also booking a food delivery!
