Cobbles Point
With spectacular views overlooking the golden sands of Bigbury-on-Sea, Bantham and beyond and being adjacent to a working farm in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in the South Hams, Cobbles Point, one of seven properties in the court, is a beautifully converted barn and a stunning beachside retreat, beautifully created with terraced decking to give you the most magical outlook throughout the year.
The South Hams sits along the much sought-after south Devon coast and Cobbles Point offers blissful views from dawn until dusk whether you choose to dine al fresco or lounge in the Devon sunshine. With four beautifully appointed bedrooms and gorgeous living space, this is a truly exceptional holiday retreat, perfect for extended families or groups of friends looking for the ultimate luxury getaway.
From the moment you arrive you will be totally captivated by the panoramic vista from Cobbles Point, but if you can tear yourself away from the mesmerising views you will discover gorgeous interiors which make the most of the sea vistas. Bedroom one sits on the lower ground floor, a dreamy room with a king-size bed and patio doors leading out onto a gravelled patio area, the perfect spot for a quiet morning cuppa watching the tide ebb and flow. There is an en suite shower-room to this bedroom which has a shower and wash-basin but please note there is no WC.
Up a steep flight of stairs to the ground floor you enter the utility-room and separate WC with wash-basin before heading into kitchen/diner. This super sociable space has all you need to create a holiday meal whilst the family chat around the table. Windows from the kitchen overlook the views from the terrace towards the sea, which may be a bit distracting for the chef! Just above the kitchen on the upper ground floor is the cosy sitting-room with comfy sofas and a double height ceiling with characterful beams. This room is spacious and welcoming, the perfect place for everyone to sit and relax in front of the Smart TV after a busy beach day. The gorgeous terrace is accessed from here via patio doors, super convenient for everyone to make the most of the outside space. A mezzanine area is reached via a ladder (please supervise children) and this snug/second sitting-room has squidgy beanbags where you can curl up with a good book and enjoy some time out.
Three bedrooms can also be found on this floor, a pretty king-size room and two twin bedrooms, one of which can be made into a super-king double on request, along with the family bathroom. The king-size double room has a nautical theme, giving a nod to this coastal location and patio doors leading out to the garden. This room also has a convenient en suite shower-room. Bedrooms three and four are both twin bedded rooms, light and airy with double height ceilings and perfect for either children or adults, or alternatively, bedroom four can also be made into a super-king size double if preferred. The family bathroom has a bath with shower attachment, ideal for rinsing those salty toes after a beach day.
With the delights of the South Hams on the doorstep, this exceptional holiday retreat will leave you with holiday memories to last a lifetime.

Stunning views, cosy cottage. We are a family of 8 including a baby and with a dog, we all loved staying at Cobbles Point. Highly recommend.
Mr Lilleystone
We would like to express are thanks to you for your superb holiday cottage at Cobbles Point. The well appointed accommodation had everything to make our stay comfortable. The amount of time, effort and thought gone into the property, all the little details and touches from the beams and door handles to the wonderful decking with its fine furniture and stunning views , has made it all very special. All in all it has been the best cottage we have stayed in, quite magical. In fact we have all enjoyed our stay so much that we are hoping to come again next year. Kind regards the Lilleystone's and woodham's.
Mrs Ballard
Cobbles Point is a magical place. Those photos seem too good to be true but they’re not!! The views are out of this world. It is very peaceful too and we saw an abundance of birds. The finish is to an extremely high standard and there are so many lovely unexpected touches like blankets for wrapping up on the terrace and binoculars and all the provisions for the dogs. Everything is very comfortable and we had a wonderful week.
Mrs Pinkney
This was our second stay at Cobbles Point and it still remains the best equipped and comfiest holiday home we've ever stayed in, with the best view!
Miss Hulme
We had a delightful stay at Cobbles Point. The views were from the terrace were even better than in the photos and we really enjoyed relaxing there. The location near to the beach was fantastic. The cottage was well equipped, very comfortable and clean.
Mrs Compton-Davies
We would stay here again in a heart beat. The view was INSANE!!! we didn’t even leave the house for the first 2 days as the view was all we needed. The property was perfect. Lovely touches (books, binoculars, ice cubes already done for us, welcome hamper, blankets for the decking, local guide leaflets, dog bowls and toys, handy prompt cards throughout to help with the oven and shower etc). The bed was very comfortable with quality bedding. The barn was very quiet at night, and we slept like logs! We wish the garden (or even part of it) had of been secure for our small dog. Would have been lovely to open up the doors off the bedroom into the garden for her to have a mooch round, but we had to put her lead on every time. This was a shame but we made it work with a long training lead. We had a slight issue with the boiler the first night, leading into the following day and it was dealt with incredibly. We were constantly kept in the loop with what was happening and we could really tell Classic Cottages were going above and beyond to ensure we were sorted. This place really was a gem. One we were actually quite emotional to leave. We stayed here as a couple (with our dog) and so didn’t even use half the house. However it still felt really cosy and homely.
Mrs Hobley
What a property with the most amazing views! We had a wonderful family week away & enjoyed this comfortable and well equipped property. Great location for walks down to the beach and of course the iconic Burgh Island. Those views, like a picture postcard through the windows and from the terraces, just mesmerising!
Mrs Wilson
Such a wonderful location. The photos do not do the view justice. It really is spectacular. The property was amazing and so peaceful apart from a few sheep noises and chickens from the farm next door, it was a perfect retreat. The best bit was sitting and watching the world below with a glass of wine in the sunshine. Just idilic. There were lots of little extras included at the property such as dishwasher tablets, cleaning fluid, tea towels, poo bags, dog treats, salt and pepper, olive oil, washing up liquid, hand soap etc which was great. This isn’t always provided in many cottages but thought I’d share for others to know. For anyone taking dogs, note that the garden is not 100% secure. There is some fencing provided by the cottage which you could use to make a secure area. Might also be worth mentioning that wild rabbits visit the garden which might be a nightmare for some dogs who like to chase! Also worth mentioning that this property is a long way up on the hill. I didn’t realise just how high up it was when I booked. Whilst this night gives you the amazing views, it is worth noting that the walk back to the property (whichever beach you go to) is very very steep and whilst we consider ourselves to be fit it was really hard work. Less able people would really struggle and the car park at Bigbury-on-Sea isn’t cheap if you needed to drive down to the beach each day. Finally, the camp site over the road has a beach barista bar. Bit pricey but the coffee is good and they do nice bacon sarnies (they also have a kiosk on the main beach too).
Mr Bennett
Very well equipped cottage with exceptional views of the Devon coast.
Mrs Taylor
Amazing place to stay, couldn’t fault the property or location. The property was really spacious and comfortable beds - what’s not to like … Watching the moonrise over the water was spectacular. The views from the decking area are amazing at any time of day, always some thing going on to see. We will be back for sure
Mrs Cubbage

Mrs coyne
We had a wonderful week at cobbles point - a stormy March week meant that we cherished the times we could spend outside on the amazing deck enjoying the stunning vista. Exploring the area was fun and the highlight was the amazing surf lessons the kids had with discovery surf down the road at the beach!! Homely house with wonderful spaces and great outdoor space too!!!
Mr Duffy
A fantastic week in a cottage with a stunning view. Other than a trip to Salcombe it was days in Bigbury and walks from the cottage. Very close to the beach and golf course and would come back with out a doubt.
Mrs Sandford
A great location with stunning views !
