Mrs Booker
We loved our short stay in Little Linhay - the cottage was perfect for our needs with ample space for us, our two children and two dogs. The owners were lovely and really made us welcome without intruding on the holiday at all. All the eco-friendly products throughout were a great touch too! We would love to come back to visit soon.
Mr Stimpson
Lovely cottage, full of character in a quiet peaceful location with fabulous views over the Devon countryside.
Mrs Powell
Absolutely loved my stay at Linhay. Super location, quiet and great to access Dartmoor for walks. Narrow lanes were fine and you soon become familiar with where the passing places are located. Linhay is stunning and a real treat to find. Owners really kind and helpful. Thank you.
Mrs Scott
Excellent base to explore Dartmoor and a beautifully well kept cottage to relax in.
Ms Padbury
Loved the clever contemporary conversion of an old building. Excellent location for exploring SE Dartmoor.
Mr Douglas
The cottage is a nicely decorated property in a beautiful part of the world with lovely views. Dog owners should be aware that there is limited access to the garden and should be confident that their dog can navigate a stone spiral staircase. Comfort and cleaniness is generally satisfactory.
MRS MCKEITH
Beautiful character property. We stayed as a couple with our sausage dog. The cottage is in beautiful quiet surroundings down a narrow lane just outside of Ashburton. We only came across one car all week on the lane so is nothing to worry about. It is in a great location to visit places like Totnes, Torquay Dartmouth and Salcombe and obviously dartmoor. The cottage has every possible thing you could need during your stay. We used the washing machine simply to save a sweatshirt from ruin and also used the large freezer. We loved that the cottage was quirky and had a very homely feel. If I had to give caution on anything it would be for the safety of very small children and dogs of any size on the spiral staircase. My dog was scared of them and wouldn't go up or down! This was fine as I then knew I would not have to worry about her falling on them and could just carry her. They are quite steep stairs and obviously very hard but bring a unique look to the property which we loved. The owner was lovely and on hand if you needed anything. I would definitely recommend staying at Little Linhay and will more than likely return.
Mrs Constable
This property is a real find. It is in a wonderful, peaceful and idyllic location and yet close to Ashburton and all that has to offer, minutes from the Devon expressway and with easy access to Dartmoor. It is full of character, with the feel of a French Gite. The views across to the fields and hills beyond the property are like looking into a painting! It is well equipped and stylishly decorated. We were two guests, but it could easily accommodate 4/a family. It has two beautiful en-suites. It is dog friendly and secure, but dog owners should be aware that there is a spiral staircase to access the garden. We were aware of this when booking, but as other guests have noted, on staying in the property, our Labrador could not negotiate these stairs despite much encouragement! This meant we had to carry her up and down to use the garden which will not be possible for all guests. Highly recommend this property.
Mr Croucher
Little Linhay was an oasis in paradise and an absolute pleasure to return to after a day exploring the moors and local villages. Tastefully decorated in muted pastels and taupes, luxurious towels and bedding and every convenience to suit modern life you could think of. We couldn’t recommend Little Linhay more highly and would love to return one day to repeat our wonderful experience.
Dr Wormald
Little Linhay was really beautiful — wonderfully furnished and configured, with a true haven and sun trap of a garden, and in a brilliant position for the Dart and for the delights of Ashburton. We were blessed with the weather but can imagine loving this place in any conditions at any time of year.
Mr Wood
We loved our stay in the cottage, it was perfect location to be quiet and enjoy the views. Easy walk into town for main facilities. easy access to Dartmoor and great local walks. Our teenagers enjoyed a trip to Exeter shopping (30 minute drive). Our dog loved the enclosed garden!
Mr Mehl
Mrs Lines
Lovely property in beautiful setting. Very comfortable & ideal for a couple seeking peace & quiet yet close to many great places to visit. Dog happily ran up and down the spiral staircase.
Mrs Milner
We absolutely loved Little Linhay and it is undoubtedly one of the most comfortable and stylishly decorated holiday cottages we have ever stayed in. Such a characterful property, beautifully converted and furnished with a delightful garden and stunning views over the surrounding farmland. It is perfectly situated to explore Dartmoor and conveniently close to Ashburton with its fantastic food shops - two wonderful delis, a proper butchers and the incomparable Creamo's for insanely delicious and inventive ice cream (our children were obsessed!) We were also pleasantly surprised how quick it was to get to the beach though we did set off very early to beat the summer crowds on the one day we went to the beautiful Mothecombe (recommend the excellent cafe above the beach, The Schoolhouse - a real cut above). We had the perfect family holiday at Little Linhay and would highly recommend it.
Mr Wong
Great, well maintained, cottage with a lovely enclosed garden. Ideal accommodation for my wife and I together with my daughter, her husband, our grandchild (under 2 years of age) and a small dog. Close to the town of Ashburton and the Moors. Wouldn’t hesitate to book the cottage again the next time we visit Devon.
Mr Blakey
This is the perfect place to explore both Dartmoor and the South Devon coast. The accommodation itself is just as per the photos... beautifully designed and decorated, clean as a new pin, and very well kitted out with the basics. We really liked that all the cleaning products were eco friendly. The owners live next door in case of emergencies and the countryside around the cottage is stunning. It's just a 15 minute drive uphill to the moor proper, and just a few minutes to Ashburton, which is a lovely small town with great locally owned shops. Highly recommended.
Mr Stephenson
A truly relaxing break made possible by a fabulous cottage . The owners were on hand if we needed anything.
Mrs Manton
We very much enjoyed the peaceful location and beautiful views. The cottage was homely and comfortable, and we particularly enjoyed the really comfortable bed, and the shower. The owner was very friendly and helpful. Highly recommended!
Mrs Elson
Really lovely cottage with a stunning view in a great part of Dartmoor. Lovely food options locally and well positioned to explore Dartmoor and the coast. (Spiral stairs surprisingly tricky to get dog out to garden.)
Miss Weston
Beautiful place to stay, quiet, relaxed Close to lovely walks , places to eat and the coast. Special place.
Mrs Cooper
Lovely cottage lovely location highly recommend
Mrs Lima
Great cottage with lots of character. There is everything you need for a great holiday even if the weather isn’t great. Owners are very friendly and helpful. You will need a car as it is rural also I wouldn’t recommend it if you have mobility issues due to the spiral staircase. We are a family with two kids aged 9 and 14
Mrs Slade
Super location with a fabulous garden. Really nice sun loungers, better than our ones at home! Great views and lovely tranquil atmosphere. All mod cons and the children enjoyed Netflix. Have a care with your pet on the spiral staircase. Very helpful owners.

Dr Stewart
Lovely welcoming little cottage in a great spot. Handy for the moor and surrounding towns/villages. Cosy in a wet week in March but would be lovely in the sunshine too.
Mrs Pilcher
The cottage felt like home, everything we needed to relax. A perfect holiday in a perfect location. Thank you
Mr Sayers
A great place to stay - Ashburton is a delightful little town with exceptional shops including an Artisan baker and a fish deli. A real sense of community is buzzing around the place when you pop down for your provisions!
Mr Worswick
Lovely cottage in the Devon country side, lots of room and nice views. Internal staircase looks fabulous but a little precarious for the elderly and dogs accessing the garden.
