Mrs Rizza
Thankes house was great for an extended family weekend get together. Pool and hot tub mean you don’t have to worry about the weather. Will be even nicer when the building work is finished.
Mrs Lindsay
Wonderful house, with stunning views, although building work is obviously happening to the hotel in front, to the side & behind Thanckes House, we were fortunate that all work had stopped over the festive period, not impacting our stay. Once all built work around is complete I wouldn’t hesitate in booking again.
Mrs Doignie
My family and myself stopped here for a weeks break to celebrate my 60th birthday ??and it was wonderful plenty of room and the house was spotless ??the swimming pool was good for all of us and they loved the cinema room plenty to do at house for entertainment ??we took our to doggies and they loved it I highly recommend to stop here, we will definitely be returning ??
Mrs Meredith
The house was amazing, so wonderful for the kids, they spent all their time in the pool, games room of cinema. Perfect family weekend away, we will be back.
Mr Coates
Spacious, well appointed house with the pool, hot tub and games room delightful additions which helped entertain adults and children. Our party of eleven included a 9 year old, teenagers and seniors aged 70 plus and we all enjoyed a fabulous time in lovely surroundings.
Mrs Davies
A fabulous house with everything we needed for a special family weekend away. I would recommend Thanckes House to others.
Mrs Obery
This house is fantastic for a larger family or group of friends. The view is fantastic and the facilities are great. I recommend this house for those able to walk gradients to and from, albeit it's such a short walk to the beach and the nearest cafe, The Jolly Roger! The house gives you enough to have fun when the weather is not so great! You'll still see the sea and hear the waves which is a tonic in itself! The owner and staff are all fantastic and really helpful and understanding. Thank you so much to them and wishing everyone who chooses Thanckes House a fabulous time. The Oberys
Mrs Burns
Fantastic stay at Thanckes House. Amazing indoor pool and hot tub, perfect for an autumn stay as the water was hot 24/7. We enjoyed all the facilities the house and garden had to offer including the large spacious bedrooms with amazing views. Use of the luxury spa was an added bonus. Lots of private hassle free parking. Pool and hot tub regularly maintained whilst we were there gave us added reassurance. The holiday was so perfect we came home and booked again for next year!
Mr bennnett
This house was surrounded by close proximity building site. Noisy and dusty. Maybe when the work is finished it will be better. The soft furnishings were poor . The bbq needs replacing Poor value for money
Mrs Cassells
Cleanliness was an issue, tired furniture, rusty bedroom balcony furniture not fit for purpose, loose patio tiles, my little grandson cut his toe on one, overgrown grass, dirty carpets, washer and dryer needed cleaning out, However the pool, hot tub and large patio area where excellent facilities for my family and 5 grand kids and the ocean views from the house beautiful, if you can overlook the other issues. Unfortunately on our stay the front of property was full of cars and work men daily which impinged significantly on our privacy and be prepared for the pool and hot tub maintenance through the week.
Mrs Tod
This house was perfect for us as a party of 10 friends, especially as many of the beds were zip and link allowing us all to have our own beds. The sea views from some of the bedrooms were such a bonus. The facilities were excellent. As it happened we had fantastic weather during our stay, but should it have been inclement we would have had plenty to occupy us at the house. There is a large covered BBQ area which is great for a bit of alfresco dining. You can go for a sea swim at the old harbour about a 5 minute walk away. The beach is a little rocky and the sand coarse but it was nevertheless a good place to take a dip. We also took a swim at a Long Sands, a sandy beach about a 5 minute drive away near Tregantle Fort. You do have to park up on the road and walk down to the beach. There are good, moderate walks in both directions along the coast from the house. We had an excellent meal at the Finnygook Inn, about a 10-15 walk away (uphill). Lovely pub, nice atmosphere, good service, plenty of room for a large party. We loved staying at this property and intend to book again next year.
Mrs Thomas
A beautiful house in an amazing location. We had a wonderful Christmas stay, 3 families with lots of space and comfort. The movie and swimming pool a huge hit with the kids! Also in reach of some lovely nearby beauty spots. Would highly recommend.
