Reviews

Situated in the vibrant heart of the much sought-after Roseland village of St Mawes, Wiggy's Cottage is a traditional Cornish cottage with oodles of character and perfectly positioned for a family holiday or a romantic getaway where even the dog is welcome. St Mawes has everything you need virtually on the doorstep, with gorgeous beaches, eclectic shops, a great selection of cafes and restaurants, and the bustling maritime town of Falmouth just a short passenger ferry ride away. Indeed, if a car-free holiday is what you are looking for then this could be just the ticket!

Wiggy's Cottage has the added luxury of a private parking space and can be found tucked away in a row of similar traditional cottages up a short, steep hill from the centre of the village. Walking down into the village will take a few minutes, it may take a touch longer going back uphill! The ground floor is home to a cosy sitting-room with warming wood-burner and a Smart TV, ideal for movie nights after a busy day of exploring. There's a separate dining-room leading off the kitchen and here you will find all the equipment you will need including the all-important dishwasher, so no squabbling over the washing up here and a thoughtful extra touch of a Nespresso machine in the kitchen (do remember a supply of your favourite pods!). You will also find a swish shower-room on this floor, ideal for rinsing salty toes.

The first floor is home to three pretty bedrooms. Bedroom one has a comfy king-size bed for a restful night's sleep, bedroom two is a charming single room, ideal for either a child or adult, and bedroom three has a cosy double bed, although guests may wish to note that this bed can only be accessed from one side. The family bathroom with bath completes the first floor accommodation.

Wiggy's Cottage has a rear terrace outside the kitchen door and down a set of steps (please take care here) you will find a further enclosed patio area with a table and chairs, perfect for al fresco dining. St Mawes is a great place for a getaway and this characterful abode is ideally placed for your Cornish getaway.

Customer reviews

Good or bad, we publish all the reviews left by the guests who have stayed at this property.

Mr Peck

We have been coming to Wiggy’s for many years and it has been one of our favourite places to stay in St Mawes, this year was no exception. The improvements in recent years are really appreciated and helped to make our stay even more comfortable. Many thanks for the very generous welcome gift pack. We are looking forward to returning.

Dr Mcmaster

Lovely cottage in a fantastic location

mr thompson

Small but big enough, great location right in the heart of St Mawes. Ok the shower is downstairs but there are two bathrooms. We were very happy with up yo five of us.

MRS FAIRCHILD

Very comfortable cottage, perfect location in St Mawes. Bonus having own parking place Very nice patio area with seating, and very secure for a dog.

Mrs Morris

Ideal situation for accessing the numerous shops and restaurants. Only a two minute walk from the quay for ferries to Falmouth and Place.

Mrs Manna

Beautiful terraced cottage in St Mawes perfectly situated to explore the surrounding area.

Mrs Watts

Lovely, well equipped cottage in an excellent location. The discovery of Bear Cornwall coffee van in the castle car park made the morning dog walk even more enjoyable. 2 excellent pubs in the village as well as 2 bakeries. You can even have a go at Gig rowing in a Wednesday evening. Will definitely be returning.

Mrs Davies

Perfect cottage in a stunning location , parking space outside the cottage and a couple of mins away from St Mawes harbour and restaurants/ pubs.

Mr Smallwood

We had a great stay at Wiggy's cottage could not fault anything, with the exception of the electric shower downstairs, which was less than useless as water flow was just too weak.

Mrs Bridger

This was our second stay in Wiggy’s Cottage and had another great week in this lovely house. The fantastic location and generous parking space right outside, combined with the third bedroom, are a perfect formula for us. A big thank you to the owners and we hope to return again in the future.

Mr Brook

A lovely cottage close to all the amenities of St Mawes. Nice enclosed garden - very secure for a dog. Would definitely come again.

Mrs Charman

The cottage is a 5 min walk to the local pub and 15 mins to Summers Beach. It is located well, although there is no sea view. Thr garden is a sun trap with very little shade in hot weather. The kitchen has plenty of equipment for any cooking and the downstairs shower is great. We didn't find the property overly comfortable with a soft lumpy bed and hard living room furniture. However, we enjoyed our stay in St Mawes, it is dog friendly and a lovely place to stay.
