Reviews

Up on the hill overlooking the beautiful village of St Mawes, you will find Newton Cottage, a traditional Cornish cottage that has been lovingly restored over the years to create a wonderful holiday home-from-home. This lovely, detached cottage with views over the desirable and charming harbour town of St Mawes, comfortably accommodates up to nine guests in five bedrooms.

Step inside your holiday home and discover space for relaxing, resting and socialising both inside and out. A large multi-coloured comfy corner sofa invites you to snuggle up together in the open plan living-room and a second sitting-room with a sofa and a second television gives you options (please take care near the step in this room).

Cooking is a delight on the double electric range cooker, order a food delivery or visit one of the local farm shops, creating a delicious feast is easy with all the wonderful locally-grown produce available and with a gorgeous Smeg fridge/freezer to store it in, you'll be eating well this trip!

From the lovely garden terrace, enjoy the views across the cottage garden towards the village below, take a seat on a warm day and enjoy time spent with family and friends outside, eating, chatting, reminiscing, and talking about your plans for the day. When the eye lids start getting heavy head upstairs and choose from three lovely bedrooms, one double, one twin room and a rather spacious single room. The family bathroom is also on the first floor along with a second small shower. There are two more bedrooms on the ground floor, a double at the front of the cottage and a twin in the extension to the side which has the benefit of an en suite shower-room. There is also a second shower on this floor so there'll be no need to queue!

With parking for two cars, a warm welcome for your four-legged family member and its sought-after location in St Mawes, only a short walk downhill walk down to the beautiful harbour and village centre, however the walk back up may take a little longer due to the steep hill. Newton Cottage may be the perfect holiday home for your next Cornish adventure

Customer reviews

Good or bad, we publish all the reviews left by the guests who have stayed at this property.

Mrs Dillingham

Beautiful, spacious, cosy cottage with large, enclosed garden. Perfect for our family of 9 and 2 dogs. A short walk to the shops, beaches and harbour. (Bit of a steep climb back up but kept us fit!) Parking for 2 cars- it was easy to park our 3rd car in the long stay car park in town. Highly recommend. Want to return! St Mawes is stunning.

Mrs Tinton

Lovely cottage in beautiful spot. Very close to st Mawes (400m) but must be fit to walk back up the hill. Great facilities available in property, and garden is such a nice extra. Perfect for a family get away

Mrs Agar

Perfect base to explore St Mawes and surrounding area.

Ms Lea

This was an excellently priced house that was well equipped for a multi generational holiday. Lots of bathrooms and space for all the family. And the standard of decoration made it a real coastal retreat. Some really good little touches like motion activated night lights next to steps etc. The garden is beautiful and a great place to enjoy the outdoors (weather permitting). The location is good for those that are fit and mobile and happy to walk up and down a steep hill and there are the excellent views that you would expect with such an elevation. Thank you for having us to stay.

Mrs Dobson

Newton cottage is spacious for families with lots of sitting space, lovely enclosed garden for dogs and easy to access local amenities. We managed without our car for a number of days, ferry service to Place House and walking the coast path brought us to some beautiful beaches tucked away peaceful and quiet.
