In a fantastic location, just a stone's throw from the pretty harbour of St Mawes, this dreamy fisherman's cottage is simply perfect. Beautifully decorated in relaxing pastel shades and with the most fabulous south-facing terrace with views across the harbour, this little gem offers everything you will need for a family holiday or friends looking for a getaway retreat.

Little Mariners sits in a tucked away location, a short five-minute downhill walk down to the beautiful harbour and village centre, however the walk back up may take a little longer due to the steep hill! Steps lead up from the road to the front terrace, from the moment you open the front door and step through the porch into the living-room you will fall in love with the elegant interiors, tastefully designed with comfort and relaxation in mind. A dreamy window seat invites you to sit and watch the boats bob in the harbour, or perhaps sink into the comfy sofa with a good book or tune into your favourite film on the Smart TV. The wood-burner will keep you toasty during cooler months and additional under-floor heating warms the lovely stone flagged floor.

The open plan downstairs is a great sociable space so everyone can gather around the dining-table to plan the day's adventures, or perhaps chat with the chef whilst dinner is being prepared. The kitchen has everything you'll need to create a holiday feast and with fresh fish from the harbour and local produce available from roadside stalls, the freshest of ingredients will be close at hand. Just off the kitchen, a handy shower-room with monsoon shower is the ideal place to rinse off salty toes.

Climb the stairs to the first floor and the two bedrooms and family bathroom await. The main bedroom to the front of the property has a comfy king-size bed, reclaimed wooden floors and the most delightful view over the harbour to Place and beyond. Bedroom two is lovely, decorated in blues and creams with a nod to this maritime location. With either three-foot twin beds or a super-king, this room offers you the flexibility to choose. The family bathroom is bright and cheerful and ideal for a long soak after a day out and about.

The icing on the cake at Little Mariners has to be the magical outside space. The south-facing front patio has stunning views over the harbour to Place and St Mawes Head. From sunrise to sunset, this view will captivate. A convenient outside tap is provided to wash sandy feet or paws and to the rear of the property (accessed via a flight of steps) you will find a lawned garden which offers further seating. Little Mariners really is a place holiday dreams are made of.

Customer reviews

Good or bad, we publish all the reviews left by the guests who have stayed at this property.

Mrs Kail

Little Mariners is both beautifully positioned and appointed with splendid views of the Carrick Roads and Place. Even though position wise you are in ‘the thick of it’, it is exceptionally quiet. Lovely holiday and would recommend this cottage to anyone planning a holiday in St Mawes.

Mrs Franklin

A cosy, dog friendly cottage, with beautiful views and close to all the local amenities. We stayed over Xmas and the cottage had a lovely little tree, as well as lots of wood for the log burner. The kitchen was well stocked and had everything we needed to cook our Xmas lunch. The walk down to the village is 2 mins down a very steep hill, so coming back up it was quite an effort, but worth it for the views! We had no problem with parking in the village car park, which is also just a few minutes away. St Mawes has everything you need, good choice of pubs and hotels, well stocked Co-op, 2 great bakeries. Everywhere was dog friendly which was a real bonus. Lots of repeat guests stay here and you can understand why. A picture perfect Cornish cottage

Mrs Roome

This is a lovely cottage in a beautiful and peaceful location, very comfortable for two people or a family. St Mawes offers a good range of restaurants and shops and is a convenient base for visiting the wider area.

Mrs Burgess

Mrs Cooper

Little Mariners, St Mawes - This is a delightful cottage - warm, cosy, well equipped and furnished, with a lovely view over the water. We thoroughly enjoyed our early spring break and would certainly return.

Mrs Robinson

A lovely cottage with comfortable beds and exceptional views.

Mrs Wilkinson

A beautiful character cottage with fantastic views. A lovely terrace out the front to watch the water from and enjoy the sunshine, and a useful back garden suitable for drying clothes and letting the dog into! We chose to sleep in the back bedroom as I prefer a carpet and the zip’n’link beds made a superking size. Lovely sofa on the landing to watch the sunrise from.

Miss Cumberland

Little Mariners is a unique and wonderful experience, you can hide from the world and not use the car throughout your stay should you wish to do that, although be aware parking is not on site and costs extra in village car park. Plenty to occupy on and off the water in St Mawes. The views are the big draw together with total peace and fresh sea breezes.

Mrs Hay

A very pretty Cottage with fabulous views, we loved our stay and our little dog loved the window seats for seagull and boat watching!

Mrs Robinson

We love Little Mariners and have been lucky enough to stay on a number of holidays. The view is worth the steep hill climb , the cottage is lovely and cosy and easy to get to all the excellent pubs restaurants and great walks in st mawes and the surrounding countryside. We cant wait to return..
