Reviews

Beautifully designed to offer contemporary living at its best, The Wickets is a fabulous holiday abode, ideally situated at the head of a peaceful cul-de-sac and just a short walk from the centre of the charming village of Portscatho on the Roseland peninsula. All on one level, The Wickets has been beautifully designed with an eye for detail. With sea views from the front elevation and a secluded rear patio you may never wish to leave this peaceful haven. If you do head out exploring, Portscatho and the coast path are just moments away and the delights of the Roseland peninsula are just waiting to be discovered.

The open plan living space has been cleverly designed and beautifully furnished in muted grey shades. The sitting-area to the front has two cosy sofas and a Smart TV, a great place to enjoy a movie after a busy beach day. The kitchen is super sleek, guests can perch on a breakfast-bar stool to chat with the chef and there's a separate dining-table for sociable meals. A handy utility-room leads off the kitchen, home to a freezer, washing machine and drier.

The two bedrooms are a delight, both prettily furnished with luxury linens for a peaceful night's sleep. Bedroom one has an en suite shower-room and bedroom two has an en suite bathroom so no queuing here!

Step outside and you will find a secluded patio at the rear, surrounded by shrubs and trees. There's a rotary drier which may come in handy for damp beach towels and wetsuits. The front garden is a delight where you can sit enjoying the sea view from dawn until dusk. The garden is fenced but please keep an eye on your four-legged friends as escapologists always find a way. From its elevated position, The Wickets is both peaceful and has easy access to the village, beaches and coast path, the perfect combination.

Customer reviews

Good or bad, we publish all the reviews left by the guests who have stayed at this property.

Mr Smart

The Wickets is in a great location. Very peaceful and lovely to have a view of the sea. The front garden was great for two large dogs and parking for the vehicles. The property was very clean and had everything we needed for the stay. The kitchen / lounge / diner was fully open plan and very spacious, but the front bedroom was a little tight around the sides of the bed, and the back bedroom did not have a wardrobe or chest of drawers to use. However, this did not distract from a lovely week. We would be happy to go back to The Wickets at another time.

Mr Breeds

Lovely, bright, well-appointed property in charming seaside village with spectacular scenery.

Mrs Hardman

This is a great place for couples as each have their own privacy and space. Excellent access to shops, restaurants and pubs. Great for walkers or those wishing to browse and relax.

Mrs Noble

Nice quiet location in the village. Accommodation and facilities were generally good, with comfortable beds, good bathrooms and good onsite parking. However we found the bedrooms were rather cramped and had poor storage. There were a number maintenance issues and missing inventory items but these were swiftly dealt with by Classic Cottages.

Miss Powers

Lovely property very homely. Very welcoming and very spacious and clean Home from home . Friendly neighbour. There is a little park area behind the house so you can walk the dog. Beautiful beach I like the Pendower beach 8 mins by car . A good beach to walk the dogs and also green areas. There is a cafe and toilets . Portscatho beach is 4 mins by car Small shops and pubs and a cafe and about 10 mins walk from the wickets Tesco and Aldi and marks and Spencer and Waitrose in Truno 15 mins away by car Such a lovely place to visit and stay Well recommend.

Ms Lovell

A very spacious living area to the property which had plenty of room for us, our three large dogs and our cat. Thank you for accommodating all of us. It was a light and airy property and the conservatory was a great addition for sandy or wet boots, shoes, dogs etc rather than coming straight into the main house. A great position and location for all amenities in Portscatho. Would definitely stay again if we were going back to Portscatho.

Mrs Jones

Very comfortable bungalow situated in a beautiful sea side village.

Mrs Chick

A lovely cottage really well equipped and in a beautiful place with a really pleasant stay.

Mrs Salisbury

Would have been 5 star but for the beds being so uncomfortable

Mr Claridge

Comfortable and peaceful. Modern bungalow with nice sea view and easy walk to harbour and beach and facilities.

Mr Gray

Great central location. Comfortable stay had by the family.

Mrs Hardman

Excellent property in good location. This is a lovely village with excellent amenities and a welcoming community. There is plenty to do in and around Portscatho. We will certainly return.
