Lugger End

This was our second holiday at Lugger End and yet again we were not disappointed. The welcoming comfortable vibe as you enter and you’re home straight away!

Lugger End is an ideal house for families - lots of room to spread out for the whole family - and outside hot shower made it easier to keep sand out of the house after being on the beach - kids loved it. You need to book pub or captains cabin in advance for food - menu and service were great ( lobster Fridays - book in advance) they were busy - both offer takeaway as well. The local shop provides all you need - the best pasties fresh everyday - and the ice cream shop was a must too - great choice of delicious ice creams. The hidden hut was busy and the food fabulous. Overall just a perfect place to stay!

Lugger End is the most fabulous holiday home. It really is a home, furnished and equipped as such so you can be really comfortable. It’s honestly the nicest holiday house we’ve ever stayed in. Also great that there are two living rooms, one more suitable for kids playing and one a lovely calm space for grown-ups. The views are spectacular and we just loved sitting on the terrace in the sunshine. The short walk to Porthcurnick Beach is manageable for young children with the lovely Hidden Hut for snacks. Portscatho is just the right size and has a great shop, pub, cafe and, very importantly, excellent gelato. Roseland is such a beautiful part of the world, we will definitely be back!

Beautiful property, wonderful decor, great location.

A spacious seaside house in a lovely location, great for our mixed family group over Christmas. Well equipped, comfortable and nicely decorated (did have to bring our own tree and decs for xmas week). Great local shop, cafes and pubs nearby. Would recommend.

Beautiful house, unbeatable views, wonderful place.

A fantastic house in a great spot in a village which has been a holiday destination for our family for the last 50 years. We never tire of returning to Portscatho. It would be good to keep it a secret from the masses!!

Lugger End is an elegant house, that is well equipped and very comfortable. It is in a wonderful situation close to the beach and cliff path and within walking distance of 2 excellent pubs and an absolutely fabulous village shop with post office. Having a parking place is an added bonus. It is obviously a much loved house that we really enjoyed staying in.

This is our second visit to Lugger End and certainly will not be our last.The location, facilities and quality of the property are second to none and we didn't even use our car for the whole week - the walks are amazing!! Thank you Classic Cottages for a lovely stay. M and J Bourne

Beautiful house in exceptional location, very close to sea, beach and all village amenities.

FINALLY..after promising ourselves we will rent Lugger End, we’ve done it! We fell in love with this beautiful house several years ago and have walked past it so many times. It’s as we imagined it to be, spacious, welcoming with every amenity and stunning views. With a mini faux Christmas tree in tow, we celebrated a very special early Christmas with all our Family there. Lots of lovely memories…Thank you!

A wonderful home from home with amazing views . Lovely small beach in a quiet little village with a few eateries on the doorstep. A 20 minute walk to hidden hut and bigger beach there . Great outdoor areas , the amazing views from front garden and the outdoor shower in the back courtyard was fab and very private.

Really simple to book the whole stay was perfect

A most welcoming and restful house - clearly a much loved family home. It was wonderful to stay there especially in the merry month of June with the early dawns. The location is top notch and the ever changing sea-views just glorious. Our second visit and we would hope to stay again. Thank you.

We loved Luggers End, a wonderfully warm and welcoming family home. Portscatho has retained its community feel with the Plume of feathers its vibrant hub. We see an exponential rise in the number of early morning dippers for Winter hardy souls, and with the local coast path taking you to many unspoilt beaches there are plenty of walkies to be had. Wonderful week watching the sunrise on the first morning on the nearby coastal path .

Lugger End is an exceptional property in an exceptional location. The walks and facilities are second to none with a very welcoming pub, art galleries, cafe and a well stocked shop. We are hoping to return in 2024.

The most beautiful location, the most fabulous house to spend a week with friends and family. Wonderful walks with spectacular views, followed by a glass of wine in the local pub. What could be finer!

A gorgeous period property perfectly located with amazing views. Everything you could want close to hand from coast path, beaches, pubs, shop, restaurants, parking and it’s dog friendly as well. Sense this property has a loyal following and it easy to see why.

Really comfortable and stylish house, well-equipped and spacious. Beautiful view of the bay and very quiet despite being close to the pub, cafe etc Great to have a parking space too! Would highly recommend all village eateries, all a stone’s throw from the house. We will definitely return to this lovely house.

Our fourth stay at Lugger End and it hopefully won'y be our last. The property is ideally located overlooking Gerrans bay, yet close to the village pub, excellent shop and coast path with lovely walks to St Anthony. The spacious accommodation is very well appointed and benefits from a sunny courtyard garden and parking space. It is also dog friendly which is a real bonus.

Lugger End was one of the best breaks we’ve ever had and totally met our expectations. In fact it was better than that! We’d had a five hour journey from West Sussex and the house welcomed us with open arms with a warm and inviting atmosphere. The house provided for all our needs and the attention to detail had clearly been sensitively thought out and considered. The furnishings and decor perfect and a view that melted me every time I drew back the curtains. An endless choice of walks in both directions - A truly magical and perfect destination. Fabulous classic Cornish fishing village and a super friendly pub serving delicious food. All in all a wonderful place to stay. Thank you so much to everyone that made that so. A wonderful place to switch off from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and really enjoy a much slower pace - we loved our stay here and would definitely go back !

We found Lugger End to be a superbly situated and beautifully appointed waterside property in a friendly Roseland Peninsular village featuring an attractive courtyard garden, lovely sea views and spacious accommodation throughout. The property also takes dogs! We will book our fourth visit in 2022.

We’ve stayed in the property before & we really liked the updates to the decor & the new single bed instead of the ‘rickety’ bunkbeds!! ?? Lovely week & enjoyed all the more by the beautiful surroundings. Home from home. Most nights played Balderdash! Much family fun even though the children & grown up now ??

We very much enjoyed our stay at Lugger End. The house had everything we needed and is very much a family home. The views were gorgeous and there are walks from the doorstep, a great pub a stones throw away and a very handy local shop, along with galleries and tea shops.

Perfect house and location for three generations of our family.

The view, position is fabulous, the utility / laundry room was much appreciated by our daughter and young family. This is the forth time we have stayed in the property and like it just as it is.

We had one of the best holidays in Cornwall due mostly to such a fabulously located property that helped us to relax awar from business. Highly recommended.

We've visited many many times as have friends following our recommendation. It's position is ideal with sea views to the front of the property and easy walking distance to the local shop and pub. Staying with grandchildren under five years the easy access to the beach is wonderful as is the safe large patio to the rear of the property. Coastal walks start almost outside the door.
